Star Trek: TNG – Second Season Blu-ray Arrives 12/4‏ [UPDATED] October 31, 2012

by Matt Wright , Filed under: DVD/Blu-ray,TNG Remastered , trackback

This afternoon CBS provided TrekMovie with the offical details on their upcoming release of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Blu-ray, due out December 4th in the USA. See below for full disc-by-disc details.

Below are selections from the CBS Press Release:

Adding to the exclusivity and collectability of the Blu-ray release is an HD, “Extended Cut” of “The Measure of a Man,” this includes deleted scenes and different angles from the broadcast version. The original version of the episode is included, as well as a “Hybrid Extended Cut,” combining the high-definition on-air version of “The Measure of a Man” with video of the extra material taken from an early VHS rough-cut of the episode that was in the writer’s (Melinda Snodgrass) archives.

The spectacular collection boasts a must-see reunion of the cast, who were brought together earlier this year in Calgary as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the series. Produced exclusively for the series’ Blu-ray, this never-before-seen reunion roundtable chat features all of the best known cast regulars, joining together for the first time in years to tape a discussion about the legacy of the series.

It also includes over120 minutes of brand-new special features, including a two-part, in-depth documentary on the making of Season 2 entitled “Making It So: Continuing Star Trek: The Next Generation” – Strange New Worlds (Part 1), and New Life and New Civilizations (Part 2), and a gag reel that was created from newly recovered 35mm film elements and transferred for the very first time to high-definition.

As with Season One, the discs contain 1080p video with English 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, English Stereo Surround, French Mono, Italian Mono, Castilian Mono, Japanese Mono and German Mono. The discs also include English SDH, French, German, Castilian, Italian, Japanese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish subtitles.

1. MattyB - October 31, 2012

Yeah, what happened to this site? it used to post actual news on the TREK MOVIES…. oh well

2. Craiger - October 31, 2012

Sorry, but this is old news. Now Trekmovie’s new news is old news because of the long vacations.

http://trekweb.com/articles/2012/09/05/Next-Generation-Season-2-Coming-to-BluRay-December-2012.shtml

3. Aatrek - October 31, 2012

@2 – Today is the first time the full disc breakdown has been announced. The release date has been known, but not the rest. So chill, dude!

4. Craiger - October 31, 2012

The Trekweb article also said what was on the discs.

5. Jeyl - October 31, 2012

Where did the “Q Who” commentary go?

6. Craiger - October 31, 2012

Sorry, I guess the Trekweb story didn’t have a per disc breakdown. Guess I am still tired of the long vacations this site has and if it will go on another one after this article.

7. MattyB - October 31, 2012

I have to agree with Craiger, when the first movie came out this site was updated nonstop, now its like three weeks then a crappy book review, then nothing again

8. Shatoupee - October 31, 2012

What happened to the rumored Diana Muldaur interview?

9. ANewHope - October 31, 2012

Why doesn’t this site just sell / give itself to http://trekweb.com team? Why let it die a slow cancerous death?

10. Ed - October 31, 2012

What is the reason for the slow demise of this once great web site, is Anthony not well?

11. BGdrewsif - October 31, 2012

I agree with other comments about the terrible state of affairs this site has sunk to… I have just officially deleted TrekMovie from my bookmarks bar and just replaced it with TrekWeb. This site is finished for me… pointless to keep checking it when only one crap book review is added every 3-4 weeks….

I STRONGLY URGE EVERYONE READING THIS TO DO THE SAME AND FOREVER SHUN THIS DYING SITE NOW AND FOREVER. GO TO TREKWEB.COM WHICH IS UPDATED DAILY…
AS FOR ME, ADIOS AND GOODBYE TREKMOVIE.COM!

12. CanOpener1256 - October 31, 2012

It has been reported that JJ is thrilled yet terrified that Disney bought Star Wars. Probably afraid that the synopsis and trailer for Episode 7 will be out before the rumored STDID Movie.

BOO!

13. Nony - October 31, 2012

Some people could at least acknowledge the poster of this article, who has taken time to work on and put up this content for you, before going on another tirade about how the site is crap. Really. :/

14. sean - October 31, 2012

I have no doubt several of the complainers are just the same person signing in under multiple names. If you’re done with this site, JUST LEAVE ALREADY. We don’t need your dramatic exit statements.

15. Red Dead Ryan - October 31, 2012

#s 13 and 14.

I agree.

Thanks for the article, Matt Wright!

16. Ahmed - October 31, 2012

I join Nony, Sean & RDR in thanking Matt Wright for the article.

Hopefully the site will come back to it full operations & provide us with news & related articles like sci-fi news.

17. Chain of Command - October 31, 2012

AH, TNG season 2… The days when Rick Berman was in weaker role, technobabble was not yet rearing its’ ugly head and the incidental music actually sounded GOOD (“Where silence has lease” is a prime example of a show with great incidental music, as is “Q who?”).

I have always had a fondness for season 2. I’m not sure why. Granted, there were A LOT Of clunkers in this season, but when the season worked, it worked well. I also feel that Diana Muldaur never got enough credit. I thought she shook up the cast and made them a lot less “Stiff”. She had some great interactions with Worf and, by the seasons end, her and Data were on much better terms. I was looking forward to seeing her in season 3 because I felt she added a certain dynamic that was lacking in season 1. I just never cared for the “Crusher family” or the Picard/Crusher stuff. I just felt it was dull and it never went anywhere.

Anyway, it will be cool to see “The Measure of a Man” in an extended form. It’s a shame they couldn’t have done the same for “Q Who?”. “Q Who?” is an episode that never gets enough credit. in my opinion, it’s one of the most important episodes in the entire TNG series.

18. Devon - October 31, 2012

Not that this story doesn’t warrant a post on this site, but why is this posted and yet the announcement of the Into Darkness Prequel comics or the Novelization is taking a backseat? It’s almost as if the people behind the scenes are PURPOSELY avoiding as much obvious “Into Darkness” news as possible. This site has become a FAR CRY from what it was 4 years ago.

19. Wayne Burman - October 31, 2012

Chill out peeps, people cannot always commit the time they want to, to maintain a site and when we do get posts on trekmovie, they are usually of a very high quality. I suspect we will get more and more updates nearer the release date too.

If you like another site, then just check that site too.

It takes virtually no time at all to keep in touch with many sites by simply subscribing to their feeds using Google Reader or something similar. Set that up as one of your app tabs and/or use a smartphone app to keep getting updates.

20. MJ - October 31, 2012

Whoopdie fricking doo….where is some news on the sequel???

21. number6 - November 1, 2012

Geez…Who pissed in everyone’s cheerios?? I’m sure when there actually is news about the film, The Trekmovie folk will have it.. They certainly owe you nothing, nor do they deserve the bullshit platter on display here.

Chill out.

22. Bradley - November 1, 2012

Jeez. What’s with all the TrekWeb spam? TrekMovie doesn’t control what news comes in, and if you don’t like how long they post., there are plenty of other Star Trek fan sites to go to. Off the top of my head, I can think of TrekCore, TrekWeb, and TrekToday. If you think you can do better, start your own Star Trek fan site, or apply to be an article writer.

23. rose pinenut - November 1, 2012

The only person I agree with here is Devon. It is odd, on reflection, that Trekmovie would not report on the Countdown comic Star Trek Into Darkness coming in January, but reports on TNG coming on blu-ray.

Frankly, of more significance to me at least, is the news about the STID comic series. Everything to do with this new Star Trek movie still in post-production is truly NEW. With TNG, it is really a variation on a theme – been there, done that.

24. Star Trek Nemesis blows, is really my point - November 1, 2012

Hey Craiger, instead of complaining, why don’t you reach out and start writing articles.

It’s hard to imagine that people have lives outside of TrekMovie let alone Star Trek, I know.

25. Calastir - November 1, 2012

In other news; did anyone see Nana Visitor (Major Kira from DS9) got asked about hurricane Sandy yesterday on PBS News?

(clip after 45 seconds) —>

26. MJ - November 1, 2012

number6,

You are the kind of guy who goes lollygagging through the world oblivious to knowing what the hell is really going on around you.

And actually that is a complement — I wish I could have that lack of a worldview; I’d be a happier person.

27. Didn't MJ say he was "Leaving this website forever!" several times now? - November 1, 2012

#26 MJ: Patronizing much?

28. Jack - November 1, 2012

13, 14, 15, 16 — agreed! Thanks for the article.

Craiger, I don’t get it — they post stuff and you complain. If the other sites are better, why come here? You’ve even been trying to convince everyone else to leave. Obviously, you like this site and would like more content here, and fair enough — but I wish you weren’t always so darned negative about it.

29. MJ - November 1, 2012

Nope, sorry Stunkill.

And again, I envy that guy.

30. MJ - November 1, 2012

@28. All we get is TNG and fluff stuff, while other sites are covering the big new movie star about the new Countdown comics in advance of the sequel. How can Trekmovie not even cover that huge sequel story, but throw in more of the same old blah blah new media release of a 20-year old series stuff.

Yea, I agree with Craiger — where if the F are the articles on the new movie’s countdown comics story???????

???????

???????

31. MJ - November 1, 2012

Matt Wright,

Dude, I think this is a great article by you, and my comments are not directed at you in the slightest — thanks for this high quality article!

I just wish AP would get off his ass and put in 10% of the time you have put in here to publish the major article on the Trek 2013 Countdown comics that this site should be covering. I mean we finally have some news here on the sequel, and your editor AP is AWOL still….it is very frustrating and odd.

I would love it if you and Kayla would jointly take over this site. Somebody needs to do something soon here, or even the habitual apologizes like Jack are eventually going to get upset.

Perhaps you and Kayla should pay a surprise visit to Anthony’s house to do an emergency “Trek Intervention” to wake the guy out of his malaise? :-))

32. Remington Steele - November 1, 2012

Thanks for the article Matt!

In before more freak outs over lack of movie update…

33. Jack - November 1, 2012

Gosh, even Rose is complaining?;). It’s news. And this site has always covered the remastered stuff.

BTW, I just downloaded and read the latest Trek comic (#14). It’s short but sweet.

34. Jack - November 1, 2012

Oh, and this new universe Scotty is really kind of a dick.

Is the prequel comic story that bloody huge? It was a press release. And was covered everywhere. Maybe these guys are planning another comic round up, with some actual info on the prequel stuff.

35. Remington Steele - November 1, 2012

Just read the comments there….those people complaining should be ashamed and take a long look at themselves..

THIS IS A BLOODY WEBSITE.

If you can get news in other place, here’s a tip…GO THERE. As someone rightly said, why would anyone want to contribute to this site when all they get is sniping? Ye are a complete disgrace and give Star Trek fans a bad name.

Boo hoo, i have to go to the address bar and type into another website to get news…waaaaa waaaaaa waaaaaa.

I dont blame ay contributors for not wanting to put anything up on this site anymore with the lot of ye commenting.

Hang yer heads in shame. Im disgusted to be associated with a lot of ye.

36. MJ - November 1, 2012

Hey Remington Steele, READ THE HEADER THAT THIS SITE HAS AT THE TOP OF EVERY PAGE:

“THE source for everything new in Trek”

It doesn’t say its just a blog. It doesn’t say it’s just a fan web site. Again, it boldly proclaims:

“THE source for everything new in Trek”

Can you read, dude?

And by the way, your rant is at a level worse than mine.

37. Remington Steele - November 1, 2012

#36

Ha ha, are you serious, thats your argument:

“THE source for everything new in star trek”

Ha ha, did they patent it?? My rant is worse yeah? You’re going ape at people who run a website that doesnt cost us anything to read…did you pay a subscription MJ??

I bet you look at the page each day and cry when it doesnt update and decide to vent your spleen at faceless individuals (like myself) on the interweb

Ha ha, pathetic doesnt cover it. To be fair, thanks for putting a smile on my face today.

Ha ha, “THE source…”

Magic.

38. TrekCore - November 1, 2012

Hi all – please note this press release OMITS a couple of special features that are included.

I’ve posted the corrected full version at TrekCore here:
http://tng.trekcore.com/bluray/31102012_s2pressrelease.html

@8: The new Diana Muldaur interview IS included! It will form part of the documentaries!

39. MJ - November 1, 2012

Dude, it I am a prince at ranting, then you are KING in ranting. Just “listen” to yourself:

“Ye are a complete disgrace and give Star Trek fans a bad name”

“Boo hoo, i have to go to the address bar and type into another website to get news…waaaaa waaaaaa waaaaaa.”

“Ha ha, pathetic doesnt cover it.”

You sound like a petulant 10-year old girl who doesn’t like her birthday present.

But your rants have brought a smile to my face as well — so thanks!

45. Trekboi - November 1, 2012

Thanks Matt Wright but this site is Tragic.

46. Trekboi - November 1, 2012

Regarding JJ & the star wars sale to Disney…

If JJ hadn’t waisted 4 years bewteen films he could have keept the momentum going & had his trilogy out before the first star wars sell out sequel, now he will be trying to reboot trek again after a 4 year void in the shadow of the star wars reboot

47. luke montgomery - November 1, 2012

i love this site and if you don’t like that there is a slowdown in content then just be bummed about it but don’t hate on people like they have some moral obligation to entertain your every need. spoiled. entitled. there are real issues in the world to save that anger for. as the Shat said, “Get a life”

48. Aaron - November 1, 2012

Guys, what exactly is Anthony missing? Its not like there’s that much news about the new movie at the moment. I’m sure once they start really gearing up for the release, this site’ll be hopping! I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re going easy now because they know there’s a lot coming up.

49. Not A Zelot - November 1, 2012

Jeese.. You people just LOVE to complain. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.. WHERE ARE THE UPDATES???? Get a life, the fine folks who volunteer their time to run this website obviously do.

50. Chris - November 1, 2012

It sucks they aren’t doing the special features with the pop up trivia, etc. that was on the original series discs. I thought for sure they would have done it for Measure and Q Who.

51. Kirk, James T. - November 1, 2012

Really looking forward to Season 2, I’ve not had the time to watch Season 1 yet so I better get cracking!

RE: TrekMovie, It’s a shame that articles aren’t regular here but everyone who works on this site probably doesn’t do it full time. What would be good is if Anthony looked into the possibility of changing the site to a more traditional website format with a fan forum so that at least the people who do stick with TrekMovie can feel part of a community of fans. This would hopefully encourage Bob Orci and anyone else from the new movies and old series to perhaps post here? Who knows, Its a great site this and my 1st stop for Trek news.

RE: Disney buying Star Wars: It won’t effect Star Trek what so ever. The two have always had a lively rivalry and been held up as the pinnacle of Sci-Fi/fantasy excellence so there is no need for anyone to worry about that. The only thing I’m slightly worried about is if JJ Abrams and any of the team doing Trek now decided to go work on Star Wars, that would just be completely insulting. I don’t think they will though since they have a deal with Paramount that expires at the end of 2015.

52. Jerry Modene - November 1, 2012

I’m not complaining (far from it), but I am wondering if anything is wrong.

53. Craiger - November 1, 2012

#51 – Good idea. Turning Trekmovie into a Trekforum to post our own Trek and Scifi news and chat about it if Anthony doesn’t want to run this site anymore. Or create our own Trek/Scifi News forum full of former Trekmovie posters.

54. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Its these types of articles this site used to post.

http://trekweb.com/articles/2012/11/01/New-Starships-and-Bridges-for-Star-Trek-Online-Game-Including-New-Timeships.shtml

55. Captain Buttmunch - November 1, 2012

I wonder if everyone who is bitching and moaning about the lack of fresh Trek News on this site will apologize to those of us that are forced to sit through it when the Star Trek Into Darkness marketing machine explodes in the next couple months.

56. rm10019 - November 1, 2012

Only crazy (or very lonely) people stand in an empty forest screaming to themselves how empty it is.

57. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Funny how people are saying get a life but yet are posting in here themselves to complain about the so called complainers. LOL.

I also think its rude since Anthony took an extended vacation in Europe not to leave a note on Trekmovie. Something like “Trekmovie will have limited updates while I take an extended vacation in Europe, Trekmovie will be back up to full reporting when I get back.”

58. Sean4000 - November 1, 2012

I’ll take over the site. I have loads of free time.

59. Tom - November 1, 2012

Trek Core is reporting that two special features were left off this list:

1) Audio Commentary on episode “Q Who?” with Rob Bowman, Dan Curry and Mike Okuda

2) Brand new Deleted Scenes from two episodes, “The Icarus Factor” and “Up the Long Ladder”

60. CanOpener1256 - November 1, 2012

Well, the proof in the pudding will be when genuine news about STID does come out and whether it is posted here first .. Or at all. Then we will know: resurrection or death of a website.

61. The Last Vulcan - November 1, 2012

BTW, this is further information which might be of interest to the fakeboborci who stated that the movie had been delayed. That was a clear and unequivocal violation of California’s SB 1411 (as the impersonation spread false information which could financially damage other entities) and they are now facing extended prison time. It couldn’t happen to nicer people. I PRAY that you’ll be wearing an orange jumpsuit soon!

62. sean - November 1, 2012

Kayla is at Cambridge working on her degree, so she’s not going to be able to run the site any time soon.

63. sean - November 1, 2012

The complaints about the TNG Remastered coverage are interesting, since anyone who was around when the site started (back in 2006) knows that the only regular features on the site at that time were the TOS Remastered reviews & articles.

64. MJ - November 1, 2012

***** ALL, POSTS 40 TO 44 ARE NOT MINE *****

65. MJ - November 1, 2012

@57 “Funny how people are saying get a life but yet are posting in here themselves to complain about the so called complainers. LOL.”

EXACTLY !!! :-))

66. DS9 fan - November 1, 2012

@25. Calastir – November 1, 2012
In other news; did anyone see Nana Visitor (Major Kira from DS9) got asked about hurricane Sandy yesterday on PBS News?

Thanks for the clip! Wait through the commercial, then 45 seconds into the story, the News Hour identifies the speaker on the street as Nana Visitor, New York Resident. I’m glad she got through it all right, and wish a speedy recovery for all those impacted by the storm.

67. Robert Gillis - November 1, 2012

WOW. Just WOW. Anthony has spent years of his life for free, working on this site and providing it for free, some of the best Trek coverage on the net, and everyone is whining about the lack of updates. I stopped going to TrrekWeb because the comments were AWFUL. It would go like this: “I like the new movie.” Response: “You are stupid to like the new movie I hate you…” and so on. Most discussions on THIS site have been productive and positive — until now. My two cents: Please stop complaining about the lack of FREE things you are receiving. Sometimes there just isn’t much Trek news, and I am sure Anthony, like all of us, has a life and responsibilities. Play nice or leave the playground, guys. Coverage here is excellent and FREE. End of speech.

68. Jack - November 1, 2012

Bottom line is… none of these Trek sites are breaking (verb, here) news. Unless Bob sends Anthony an email 30-minutes before the press release comes out/the traile ris released… Well, they’ll get the info at the same time.

They’re doing stories on press releases and linking to stories on actor/production interviews on other sites. Very occasionally they do their own interviews (mainly this site). What made this site especially good was, think, the regular features.

We’re all, me especially, saying the same stuff over and over. Complain away. If you’re pissed off, say it. But, I wish we wouldn’t get into the “this site will tank” “the movie will tank” predictions.

Remember when we used to have actual discussions on here.

69. Jack - November 1, 2012

63. “The complaints about the TNG Remastered coverage are interesting, since anyone who was around when the site started (back in 2006) knows that the only regular features on the site at that time were the TOS Remastered reviews & articles.”

Absolutely. And it’s interesting that the folks who make repeated arguments like “Batman told us the villain, why can’t Trek/Peter Jackson shows us everything during production, why can’t Trek” compare this site to every other site out there: “Trekweb had this first, etc.” Do you guys motivate your kids and employees this way too: “i see you got an A Bobby, but your sister got 7″

And, yes, by definition — complaining about complaining IS complaining. Absolutely. But it’s tough not to, it gets so bloody depressing around here.

70. Jack - November 1, 2012

Okay, almost done here — but the other reason I don’t go to the other sites that often… I can’t stand white/blue print on a black background. ;)

71. MJ - November 1, 2012

I’m sitting here wondering where all of these NEW POSTERS who are attacking those of us who have been here since Day 1 are coming from???

I think Stunkill’s clone warriors are at work here — that is my only explanation for ALL OF A SUDDEN seeing all these new posters, who uniformly, are attacking Craiger and I. This is just too much a coincidence to buy into.

72. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Yeh, that is interesting MJ, all of sudden we have new posters signing up complaining about the so called complainers.

Now I think with the lack of updates this sites reputation is already ruined because now if we get one update people will still wonder if this will go on vacation for weeks after that one update. People have already begun deleting Trekmovie from their bookmarks.

73. sean - November 1, 2012

I’ve been here since 2006 back in the days when Dennis Bailey, Iowagirl and British Naval dude were all regular posters. If Anthony was still around he could confirm I’m the same user, but since he’s MIA you’ll just have to take my word for it.

74. sean - November 1, 2012

#70

Agreed on the print, that light color on a dark background thing has me seeing stripes for 5 minutes.

75. Well Of Souls - November 1, 2012

Thank you Matt for the article. Seeing as there is no new news on the upcoming Star Trek movie here are 2 announcements from 2 other franchises:
Star Wars – The New Star Wars Trilogy Will Be ALL New

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – Soundtrack Artwork And Track List For THE HOBBIT
WaterTower Music have released the following artwork and track list for Academy Award Winner Howard Shore’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey soundtrack. There are of course some minor spoilers for the movie in that list, so hit the jump at your own risk!
Read more at http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=69518#rPAcW4MpzP8upg02.99

Anyway, I think I’m off to the store to see if I can pick up #14 of the Star Trek ongoing comics.

76. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Also just removing the tagline – The Source For Everything New In Trek was removed then we would know this site will become a part-time Trek news site and it could stay true to its name – Trekmovie.com and just report on the movies. Then that way if Anthony has more things to do and doesn’t have time to devote to this site anymore he could just pop in from time to time only posting Trek movie news only. However he did create this because he said he wanted to get Trek fans closer to the people involved with Trek and it seems like he doesn’t even want to do that anymore. That is another thing I miss about this site, interaction with people involved with Trek. Now we don’t even know if when the real Bob Orci shows up he is the real or fake one.

77. Jonboc - November 1, 2012

#11 BGdrewsif

I’ve never seen you post before. Regardless, you won’t be missed.

78. number6 - November 1, 2012

I hope if the real Bob Orci shows up he’ll tell you that you’re all losers and behaving like third graders. I mean, seriously..

79. MJ - November 1, 2012

@75. Well of Souls, here is my vote for you to take over this site, my friend. That is the kind of can-do attitude that is missing here.

80. Jonboc - November 1, 2012

Seriously? I haven’t been here in ages and I drop in and it seems like I’m stuck in a bad TNG time loop… MJ STILL doing his “why doesn’t Anthony hand the site over to Kayla ” schtick, while the ever dependable Craiger repeats, for the 437th time, how he is leaving trekmovie because it has “old news” and is no longer “the source for everything new in Trek.” Geez.

The actual article is new though. I don’t care for TNG, as a whole, but this season does offer some of my favorite episodes…and that fact that the horrific Beverly Crusher is absent the entire season gives it merit. Also,
the extended Measure of a Man interests me.
But sadly, the ratio of good to mediocre is, again, way too lopsided to invest in the whole set. Maybe I’ll pick some episodes up down the road, when the “best of” sets start to roll out.

81. Jack - November 1, 2012

75. Anyway, I think I’m off to the store to see if I can pick up #14 of the Star Trek ongoing comics.

Bought it for the ipad last night — I thought it was fun. Let me know what you think…

82. sean - November 1, 2012

#80

“and that fact that the horrific Beverly Crusher is absent the entire season gives it merit.”

Unfortunately the tradeoff is Diana Muldaur, who seems to be stuck in a McCoy schtick that doesn’t quite work.

83. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

#38 TrekCore — Are you’re 100% positive the commentaries/interview/deleted scenes, etc. that are not in the PR are being included? I sure hope so. Anthony has an editorial policy to generally only include what has been confirmed officially through CBS so I used only what was in the PR sent out the other day.

84. MJ - November 1, 2012

@83. Matt, so Anthony is still engaged with the day to day operations of this site? Do you know why he is hardly ever posting articles on this site or monitoring the site anymore?

Thanks!

85. MJ - November 1, 2012

@80

….with the ever dependable Jonboc’s “complaining about the complainers” tired old schtick being posted by him right on schedule. LOL

86. Jack - November 1, 2012

I was in college during that first season 2 episode and I remember a guy in dorm, while we were watching it, saying, about 10-seconds after Pulaski started speaking, “Wow, they traded Dr. Crusher for DeForest Kelly with breasts”

I liked first-season Crusher. McFadden was so sedated when she came back for Season 3. I always wondered if she was told to play it that way. It would be interesting to hear her candid take on the replacement — and views from the other cast.

Also, am I a churl for not caring that they get along so well (that’s all they talk about at conventions, isn’t it?) and that every day of work was a party? Yes, I am.

Great that they’re all friends, but, really, i would have rather had better TNG movies (Generations was clunky but fine, iin retrospect; First Contact was terrific, despite marking the beginning of the end of the Borg as an interesting antagonist; Insurrection was terrible and Nemesis was Brent Spiner and Friends), especially the later ones, if it meant the cast had a lousy time filming it. That was part of the problem, I think — that sense of “we’re having a reunion! This is so fun. Everyone wants to see Data!” played out on screen.

It makes me happy that these new actors aren’t doing conventions. I wonder if years of adoration at conventions makes these guys lose perspective and think that the world is demanding a Sulu, Riker or Worf series.

87. bgdrewsif - November 1, 2012

#77 JonBoc: I’ve posted here many times over the years… I guess you dont read through here very thoroughly… I dont post my every waking tought on here, but post when I felel I have something relevant or meaningful to contribute to the discussion. I firmly beleiev my comments about the state of affairs here is urgently needed and I can only hope that many otheres also stand up to raise the alarm and their extreme misgivings about the state of neglect that has happened to this site…

F.Y.I. I had never even been on the TrekWeb site once before yesterday when Craiger mentioned it on here… I then spent a hour reading through the posts on there and realized that it is actually a site with news and updates… while this place is collecting dust and waiting for the internet archive to save it for posterity… Believe me I wish this place were more lively these days… I would have hopped that the complaints being register here would have attracted the attention of the powers that be on here and the fact that they have not speaks volumes…

I greatly miss what this site once was and and deeply saddened to see it’s demise… :-(

88. rose pinenut - November 1, 2012

When does making an observation also become a complaint? That is what I did in my post #23 – make an observation. It does seem odd that this site would report news about blu-rays coming on a series that was made 18-25 years ago but not on something about a movie and comics that are being worked on NOW!

I am not saying that the article about TNG on blu-ray should not have been written and posted here, nor did Devon say that.

I am wondering if Matt Wright may be able to offer some insight on this.

89. bgdrewsif - November 1, 2012

*hoped /hopped/

90. sean - November 1, 2012

#88

The Blurays are new, and the restoration process is being worked on now, so I don’t see why it shouldn’t be dealt with in the same way as news about the movie. I agree the comic announcement should have been reported, but really, there’s not much to say about it as we don’t know the plot and it won’t be released for months. We’re being given considerably more info on the restoration effort, so there’s bound to be more reporting on that.

Personally, I’d love to see a return to the site’s early days, with reviews & commentary on the remastered episodes, along with side-by-side comparisons of the new vs old effects.

91. Jack - November 1, 2012

From what i’ve seen, this site posts the news that’s released. Press releases. “Trekmovie has received…” sounds like it means Trekmovie is on Paramount’s distribution list…

They’re the same press releases and announcements everyone else gets. I’m not sure why nobody here posted the announcent of the comic prequels or the novels. Maybe nobody was free that day. Maybe nobody checked the Trekmovie email account that day. Maybe somebody decided that it was old news by the time they got it (and a bunch of readers posted it on here right away). Maybe someobody thought everybody woul dcomplain that the site didn’t put it up fast enough.

Alhough, it’s just that — an announcement.

You’re right, Rose, though — It would have been nice to see quick, simple posts on that sort of stuff. Even if it was “late” (gasp, hours after the stories appeared somewhere else).

Movie news? There isn’t any. What do we want them to do? Have Anthony tap Bob Orci’s phone? Dig through Chris Pine’s recyling? Right now, there’s little. Do a google search and you’ll get some “I can’t tell you anything” stuff that Bruce Greenwood is saying in interviews for his new movie. That and old report that the Nightmare on Elm St. woman says she appears as her husband did the make up.

When this site puts up those kind of stories (what actors say), people complain that it’s not real news about the movie. When they put up new stories about the game and the comics (marketing for the movie),people complain that it’s not about the movie. If I were them, I might start to wonder, why the hell am I bothering to post any of this stuff?

But, yeah, I agree with you — I liked the quick round ups these guys did before on movie news.

People have always complained about the lack of movie news here — but it seems especially negative in the last few months.
And the same people, me included, are making the same arguments daily.

And I think it was THX,/Mongo who said that people have always complained about complainers when I posted an old story showing that people from way back when complained that movie news stories weren’t revealing enough (like a casting story where somebody said, ” I don’t care — I want to see the ship and get a trailer date”). I didn’t do it to be a dick, but just because I thought it was funny that, yeah, we’re, me included not satisfied no matter what comes out.

You can’t please all of the people all of the time.

I gotta say, with some of us being so negative, it’s just not a fun place to be. But, I get that they’re frustrated by the lack of news. We all are.

What’s the solution? Is there one? Write short, well-written posts on Trek news, with links and images, and email them to Kayla, Matt and Anthony, hoping they’ll put ‘em up?

92. Jack - November 1, 2012

90. Sean. I agree.

93. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Sorry for being a grumpy nitwit earlier. I should appreciate this website more. Thanks for the news on TNG season 2 blu ray.

94. Red Dead Ryan - November 1, 2012

My major issue with this site is why Anthony has’t been here to moderate this site. Stunkill has gotten away with posing as others here for way to long. He should have been banned two months ago.

I do think the comics should have been reported on.

However, I am grateful for the staff members here who have found the time to post the last few articles in the past couple of weeks.

95. Captain Hackett - November 1, 2012

No. 62 – Sean

Kayla is vacationing in Italy at this moment. You can check her twitter.

96. Craiger - November 1, 2012

#93 is now impersonating me. Makes me afraid to post here now.

97. MJ - November 1, 2012

@96. I think we all knew that wasn’t you. Fortunately, whoever is doing this is a mental midget.

98. Ensign RedShirt - November 1, 2012

Has it occurred to the complainers that there could be very legitimate reasons why Anthony has disappeared on and off over the last year?

Anthony has run this site because he loves Star Trek. It’s not his whole existence. If he has other things happening in his life, I’m pretty sure that this site, as great as it is, gets put on the back burner, as it should. If that’s too hard to swallow there are a multitude of Trek sites across the web to serve all your fanboy needs.

Matt, great job on the article. Can’t wait to pick it up!

99. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Ok, thanks. Maybe its all one person doing the fake posting? Another reason for site moderation or maybe have a login name and id?

100. rose pinenut - November 1, 2012

“Dig through Chris Pine’s recycling?”

I suspect that the Abrams’ “Keep it very secret” brigade got there first!…:)
However, there may be a few juicy notes on Mantivities (Chris’s film)…
Nah, nah – all I *see* are lawn clippings. You need to head for the UK if you want to get a more up to date view of Chris Pine’s recycling…:)

See what this site has been reduced to…sigh!

LOL

101. Stunkill - November 1, 2012

93. That was too good to be true. If only Craiger was capable of such self-realization.

102. Jack - November 1, 2012

Wait, Mantivities? ;).

103. Rosemary (the name my parents gave me) - November 1, 2012

I was wrong. This nonsense with someone pretending to be other posters here has gone on for three months, going into the fourth month. I agree with Red Dead Ryan that the worst thing about this site is that some perpetrator(s) has been given *carte blanche* to do whatever they want with other people’s names and to other people here.

As for me, all the posts on this thread so far have been mine – just saying so the rest of you know…

Please – Matt Wright, anybody. Can you make this stop?

104. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Here is another type of article this site would have posted.

http://trekweb.com/articles/2012/11/01/SFX-Reports-on-Next-Generation-Cast-Reunion-and-Panels-at-Austin-Comic-Con.shtml

I don’t keep tabs on her vacation plans, I was simply referring to the fact that she is currently a PhD student at the University of Cambridge.

106. Keachick - November 1, 2012

#109 – No, you are right. #106 is not your post and what’s more, you are not Rosemary, nor are you rose pinenut, Keachick or any variation on those names.

I doubt you even know what a pinenut or keachick are, without having to cheat to find the answer.

107. Keachick - November 1, 2012

What’s more, #109, your grammar is lousy!

108. Bill Binder - November 1, 2012

So sad, that the wonderful “From One Generation to the Next” special won’t be included on this set. It was a promo for the second season created during the writers strike.

109. TrekCore - November 1, 2012

@83 – Seems a strange thing to say…. we’ve been covering this project since Day 1 (unlike TrekMovie) every step of the way (although if you’re not aware of this, my apologies). The editorial guidelines we employ are the most stringent around, everything is confirmed and checked.

The extra audio commentary and deleted scenes were indeed missed off the press release – CBS are aware of this now and have issued a revised press release. The Diana Muldaur interview forms part of the new documentary.

110. Robman007 - November 1, 2012

@114

That was kinda messed up. Harsh, but true. This site is about as dead as shatner’s Khan toupee. Kinda sad.

On a side note, the new Spider man villan is Electro. That’s a movie that is not due to get released until at least 2014….and we know the villian. Hmm?

111. Dee - lvs moon' surface - November 1, 2012

It’s so curious what is happening here … I wonder if the impostor is so naive or so “smart” … I think everyone here knows that AP is aware of our emails, right? … he meets us if needed … just telling case someone did not know … ;-) :-)

Well, AP probably already knows who’s the joker!………… yep

112. Enterprisingguy - November 1, 2012

Dee, the e-mail addresses can be just as fake as the poster’s name. Without a login verification system the fake poster will continue to get away with it. Even the dreaded perma-ban won’t stop someone. All they have to do is route their comments through one of the hundreds of free proxy services. The only way to stop this nonsense if for Anthony to institute a login in feature.

113. Shannon T. Nutt - November 1, 2012

If the contributors to this site can’t keep up with TREK news, why not add some more? There seem to be plenty of us and probably more that a few who wouldn’t mind writing up one post a day. The amount of TREK news that this site either misses or publishes days after it’s already common knowledge is crazy.

114. Dee - lvs moon' surface - November 1, 2012

117.

Well, it looks like someone is having a lot of work for fun … I know for sure, at least on the server prior to this he could find people who were not joking hidden

… the impostor seems to know quite some people here … is always spinning around!

;-) :-)

115. MJ - November 1, 2012

How is Episode 7 a sell out movie, GL stated back in the 80s he originally intended it to be a 9 part saga, it was not until latter that he said he never said it even though there was audio and print interviews stating opposite.
I look forward to 7 8 9

and yes my name is MJ there are lots of people with the initials MJ
(just wanting to state this so no one thinks i am sock puppet or something.

116. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

@TrekCore. my comment seems to have come off badly. I personally really like TrekCore and have been visiting it often for TNG Remastered news and exclusives. I just wanted to be sure that the PR is a mistake, because as a fan I of course really want the extras that the PR is missing to be included. So I was only trying to confirm that CBS Home Video didn’t do something really uncool like drop those extra features not listed in the PR. I was not trying to implicate TrekCore’s editorial policies, but rather that, to be cautious in case something changed, TrekMovie did not include the known missing features because the PR didn’t include it.

117. TrekCore - November 1, 2012

@121 – Thanks Matt, no problem, I may have read it too harshly! When I received the PR I noticed the missing features and alerted CBS… there’s SO much on this set that they must have slipped through the write-up! They re-issued the PR with the corrections, so hopefully you’ve received it now :)

Thanks again Matt … appreciate the kind words, and sorry if I was a bit reactionary :-)

118. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

Guys as others have mentioned, stopping the spam posts is really hard, because I can tell you that every impostor post has come from a different e-mail address. The addresses are obviously bunk, but since the person(s) can post again and again with any number of addresses they want… I’ll see what I do though…

119. sean - November 1, 2012

Matt, what’s the situation with new writers? Who should we contact if we want to volunteer our services?

120. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

Okay I tried my best to clean up the main spammer/impersonator, it did indeed appear to be just one person with way too much time on his/her hands.

@sean – Send an e-mail to Tony

121. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Matt so what’s up with the lack of Trek and Sequel news updates and Anthony?

122. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Didn’t think complaining about the lack of news and other people in being imposters of other posters was spamming. Other long time members have done the same thing.Their was a fake Craiger in here with post #93. That wasn’t me. You can see why people are getting frustrated because some think their is even a fake Bob Orci in here.

123. Keachick - November 1, 2012

I wonder if the *tardiness in releasing a trailer for STID is because Bad Robot are a little worried that they have put Kirk on the “naughty list” and instead of getting the captain’s chair, he’s been given the naughty chair…

Or was that Jack Frost who asks if he is on the “naughty list”?

I mean, what with there so much **darkness about, it could be quite difficult working out who is on the naughty list and who gets which chair…:)

I am the kea whose chicks who quite often get put in the “naughty” corner, because they are so darned curious, what with undoing padlocks on letterboxes, slurping folks’ wine etc.

* Some people say “tardy” while others say, “it happens when it happens and that is the time”

** STID and ROTG!

124. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

I see our impostor pretended to be me to try and get even with me since I stopped him before… I did not make that comment about Craiger and it has been deleted.

125. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Matt ever thought about switching to a screen name and login id at the top of the main page? Would that prevent imposters?

126. Matt Wright - November 1, 2012

@Craiger – I assume you mean registered users? I sure have, in all honesty I’d implement it right now if I could, but I’m only a moderator not the site admin…

127. The Realist Returns - November 1, 2012

I’ve been visiting this site since day one and will continue to do, and was a frequent poster, until every article turned into a fight about canon or my trek is better than your Trek etc. But I feel I must post on this occasion, during the long periods between Trek09 updates this site would cover:

1. TOS Remastered
2. SciFi on TV and in the Cinema’s in general (I really miss those)
3. Advances in Science etc
4. General and fun trivia etc

So to those complaining about the covereage of TNG Remastered, this is normal for TrekMovie.com

Yes the site seems to be very quiet with not much happening, but let’s take a step back and think for a moment about the efforts of the writers and administrators who run this site, many may have families, jobs and lives outside of TrekMovie, lets also acknowledge that the world of SciFi is a bit quiet at the moment.

Matt Wright, Tony and all the writers thanks for keeping us informed (free of charge) as best you can!

128. Craiger - November 1, 2012

Matt, I do mean registered users. That’s why I think Anthony’s got to come back and see what is becoming of this great site. Fake posters everywhere people wondering if this site is dead, ect.

129. Captain Otter - November 1, 2012

I love this website. The whiney commenters not so much.

130. jamesingeneva - November 1, 2012

131. Dr. Cheis - November 1, 2012

Article says [UPDATED]… what was the update?

132. Guest - November 1, 2012

I’m a Cumberbatch fan and Ive only got into looking for Star Trek news since he got a role in the franchise. I was expecting the ST pr machine to be a slick operation given the years its been going but Ive been very disappointed so far and nervous about the box office for the film.

The news blackout from the film makers seems very misguided and it didnt really help the box office on the last film either. I thought they’d have realised they used the wrong strategy last time. I really dont think its enough to run a trailer in dec and leave it at that until near the time of release. Film makers need to keep the fanbases interested and use the time before a film’s release to increase the size of that fanbase.

133. (the real) Montreal_Paul - November 1, 2012

133 Guest

?????? Huh?????? The 09 Trek movie did the biggest box office for any Trek movie. The movie is only in May of NEXT year… the first trailer will be coming out next month. If you are “new” to Trek then why would you be “nervous” about the film’s performance? How about you wait until the actual movie comes out and you see it before getting “nervous” about it. It really frustrates me when people say they are “nervous” about the new movie performing well when they know nothing about it and haven’t seen it yet.

Some of the Bluray features weren’t listed originally, but they have now been updated.

137. Keachick - November 1, 2012

You imposter(s) are turning this site into something akin to a Star Trek Troll site. Not good.

138. JR - November 1, 2012

With few excepitons, ST TNG did not really begin until Season 3.

139. Keachick - November 1, 2012

“Guys as others have mentioned, stopping the spam posts is really hard, because I can tell you that every impostor post has come from a different e-mail address. The addresses are obviously bunk, but since the person(s) can post again and again with any number of addresses they want… I’ll see what I do though…” Matt Wright

I assume that this was written by you, Matt Wright, the same person who posted the article about the second season of TNG coming on blu-ray. All the numbering on the posts are now skewered, because of deletions, so I need to copy and paste.

My query is – how come the imposter is able to post under any number of email/ISP(?) addresses and pseudonyms, but I can’t? I can change my name but not my email address. In fact, from the weekend of 11/12 August I have only been able to post using gmail.com email address, not my usual NZ ISP email address. I have always used my NZ email address for everything, until 12.8.12, on this site. I am still able to use my NZ address on all other sites on the internet.

My son set up the gmail address a while back but I had forgotten about it, until I had problems posting here. I tried it. It worked. It is the only email address that does work. The fact that I can’t use my own NZ email address does actually piss me off a little.

Any explanations?

140. Phil - November 1, 2012

Thanks for the article, Matt. Also for stepping up with the housekeeping. My wife and I moderated a site a couple of years ago, and riding herd on the trolls was like hearding cats. Not a fun job – thanks again.

141. MJ - November 1, 2012

@115. Dude, I am the MJ that has been posting on this site for nearly five years. To avoid confustion, I would request you modify you name that you are going to use here. Much appreciated — thanks!

142. MJ - November 1, 2012

So Matt, seriously dude, what is the story with Anthony’s continued absence?

143. Well Of Souls - November 1, 2012

Last week I watched episode 1 of the new online fan series, Castlevania – Hymn of Blood. They have stated that a new episode will appear online every tuesday. I have to admit that I was quite impressed with the 1st 10 minute installment. It stars TNG veterans Marina Sirtis & Michael Dorn as well as other credible character actors. For a fan based movie, it definitely has quite the potential to be a breakthrough in online storytelling. For a videogame to be made into a movie/series you need to start with a story that at least has some substance and a fairly decent ongoing storyline. This is one of those games, and so far it appears to be in the right hands as from the opening sequence I was rivoted.

@79. MJ, I’ll take that as a compliment, thank you. Been coming here since the early days of this site’s post debut but just never had to say much as the majority of other poster’s comments kept this place lively enough to keep the reading interesting without my 2 cents. I realize the work that goes into keeping one of these sites fresh is new articles on a more regular basis to keep the faithful coming back regardless if some of the news is posted on other sites. But it is what it is & I do like the overall camaraderie amongst the commenters that this site consists of. BTW, I will occassionally post on other sites as WellOfSouls without the spaces as some sites don’t allow them, hence the other day when I inadvertantly omitted them on a Star Wars comment, it was indeed me though, & I hope this is really a response to MJ, LOL.

@81. Jack, I did pick up issue #14 & totally agree that it was indeed a fun read. It really gives Keesner much more depth as a credible character and allowed me to escape the Jar Jar syndrome minus the babbling I was feeling I’d get if his presence became more prominent in future films. That is the type of story that a television series could more than do justice for. However, not many of the film goers will have the luxury of this back story we now possess.

144. Red Dead Ryan - November 1, 2012

#123 Is NOT ME!!!

145. MJ - November 1, 2012

His a weird thought guys. What if Anthony is “so far off the reservation” now that he is doing these imposter posts?

For example, picture the the blogging meltdown eqiuvalent of what happenned to Christopher Walken’s character in the Deer Hunter. What if that is where Anthony is right now?

146. Shilliam Watner (Click for Trek Ships Poster) - November 1, 2012

THERE ARE MODERATORS HERE?!?!?!

So how come some guy is being allowed to impersonate others on this site without being banned? I’ve stopped commenting here because it’s been such a rampant problem. And I won’t comment again until I see some kind of effective action taken to secure our identities.

Cheers all!

151. Mike - November 2, 2012

I have to agree with Elias here, since I was gonna bring that up. $130 is a ridiculous price for CBS to ask for for a single season of a TV show, even on Blu-ray. I got Season 1 at Best Buy the day it came out for $60, which is a fair price to ask. Going over $100 for one season of TV show, however, is simply insane. If they sold it at $60 from the start, everywhere, I think they’d sell more copies and make more money.

I’ve been reading so many negatives here for so long…

I bet you Negative Nelly’s would feel pretty damn silly if the reason Anthony hasn’t been around due to personal illness or loss. Not that any of you would be entitled to know if that was the case.

Thanks to the contributors for keeping this going and taking time to write detailed articles.

155. Jack - November 2, 2012

“…allowed me to escape the Jar Jar syndrome minus the babbling I was feeling I’d get if his presence became more prominent in future films”

Same. It’s weird, looking back, that I was worried about him becoming Twiki (bedebedebe… what’s up, Buck?) because, yeah, he says 1 word in Trek 09. Interesting character, actually. And, yeah, Scotty’s aping some of the complaints fans have had about the character. It’s really well done.

156. Well Of Souls - November 2, 2012

I totally agree that all visitors that wish to post here on TrekMovie should have a registered user name that is password protected. Activated only by clicking on a link that is sent directly to your Email address. Thereafter requiring you to log in with your unique user name & password only if you wish to post. However visitors who do not wish to post could read all posted content without logging in. This would curtail the troll factor and totally eliminate the possibility of any imposter masquerading as those we believe who are actually commenting.

As a footnote, here is a site I visit often of which I did register but have yet to comment even though I almost did several times. In addition to any new updates the administrator chooses to post there is a very active forum conveniently on the same page. Just the depth of some of the reading material as posted by some of it’s subscribers takes enough my time and keeps me plenty enough entertained without me adding my 2 cents. Should someone choose to comment, it is required to login with a preregistered user name & password of your choosing as long as it has not already been used by another member. The posters are then allowed to create a question/comment session in which anyone who is signed in may post their thoughts or additional comments or create a new session of their own.

I’m not sure why so many feel the need to make excuses for this website. There is no denying the fact that this site has declined severely from what it once was. Far fewer aritcles being posted. No exclusive content anymore at all.

Anthony has pretty much disapeared from this site.

I don’t understand why he or someone can’t post an explanation to the loyal followers of this site as to what is going on. Sure, legally they don’t owe that, but some common courtesy would be nice.

There is no need to get defensive and try to make excuses. It is what it is. This site is dying. Period. It’s obviously to anyone that followed this website since the ST09 movie announcement. During the ST09 production and post production, there were many articles posted by Anthony that were exclusive articles. Interviews with Orci, JJ, etc., leaked information, pics, etc.

There is absolutely none of that now. There is precious little of any real news at all on this site anymore. And no explanation for why.

If you create a blog webiste on a subject, you expect people interested in that same subject to follow it, read and comment on the content. By the same token, you open yourself up to criticism from those people. If you can’t handle that, then don’t create a blog site in the first place. Criticism is part of the buisness, and in this case well justified.

Although — spoiler alert — okay, now… I’m now being that f##king guy. Why would they build a ship with key systems that were inaccessible? I know, it could make sense (they didn’t think they were key, they were designed to be reached by tools or drones or something, mistakes happen, human limitations). Whatever, fun story. And, yeah, totally like a TV episode (of, say, Lost…)

160. Jay - November 2, 2012

#104 Exactly. I don’t get why anyone makes excuses for this site. You simply can’t deny the fact that articles like the ones Craiger has posted links to are what this site used to put out on a regular basis.

There was no need to go to any other website because this one had all the information.

It simply has little to no information now, and most of what it does post is old.

Just a fact. No need to get all defensive and make excuses. This site simply isn’t doing what it used to do. Not even close. Would be interesting to know why, but reguardless the reason doesn’t change the fact that it is a shadow of it’s former self. It’s a shame.

161. MJ - November 2, 2012

@155 “I bet you Negative Nelly’s would feel pretty damn silly if the reason Anthony hasn’t been around due to personal illness or loss. Not that any of you would be entitled to know if that was the case.”

So what is the problem with one of his staff simply posting: “Anthony is on indefinite personal leave.” Just that? What is the big deal with that?

Sheesh, with Kayla, we know when she is on vacation and when she is in school. And she is not even the head of this site.

We all have times in our life when we have to leave or job, family emergencies, etc. But most of us just don’t leave a BLACK HOLE for people who want to contact us.

162. Craiger - November 2, 2012

Well said Jay!

163. Craiger - November 2, 2012

#155 – Actually Anthony’s been vacationing in Europe.

Not even a note saying that and that their would be fewer updates because of his vacation. I could have accepted that and would have know the reason for the lack of updates and not complained as much.

164. MJ - November 2, 2012

“No need to get all defensive and make excuses. This site simply isn’t doing what it used to do. Not even close. Would be interesting to know why, but reguardless the reason doesn’t change the fact that it is a shadow of it’s former self. It’s a shame.”

GREAT POINT. And yea, why do certain people here get so defensive here when this point that Jay made is a FACT???

165. Craiger - November 2, 2012

Also if Anthony wants to move on from this site because he wants to vacation and do other things then post an article saying that and I’ll bet you everyone would move on and accept that, including me. If that’s the case then Anthony should announce if the site is closing or he is turning it over to someone else to run.

166. MJ - November 2, 2012

Folks, the “Anthony’s vacationing in Europe” thing was made up by Keachick as any example of one excuse of why he might not be here.

167. Craiger - November 2, 2012

Oh, sorry didn’t know that. Wasn’t their another person saying they saw it on his Facebook page or was that Keachick also? Another reason this site has gone downhill. People impersonating other members and now fake postings about Anthony also. Or is Keachick a fake poster also?

The $130 is the MSRP. It’s never actually that much. Amazon is already showing it at $79, which is where the season 1 set was at when it came out.

169. Elias Javalis - November 2, 2012

169,

Thanks Man!

170. sean - November 2, 2012

Plus if you wait 6 months, you can probably get it for closer to $50

#159 “There is no need to get defensive and try to make excuses. It is what it is. This site is dying. Period. ”

If indeed, this is the case…in which I beg to differ, well, there really is no need to point out the obvious. So why sound the trumpets heralding the obvious? Do you expect it to yield some type of miraculous change? Certainly an interesting, albeit futile, position…or do you just like to type? I’m dying to try and wrap my brain around the mindset of posters like yourself, and get some idea of exactly what it is that keeps you here… continuously feasting on the rotten cake, complaining with every bite…as if that will somehow make it all taste good!

172. Pensive's Wetness - November 2, 2012

Jesue H Cr*st. All of you. S.T.F.U. if you have nothing good to say…

Its not like i expect lots of news on a subject that just plain is currently low on generate said news of said subject. That can not be helped. Your trolling does NOTHING, people but make other peps annoyed. There’s about a miliion folks in dire circustance in the country, and maybe, some of those peps are the same folks that provide a service (FREE fyi) by providing info about a subject we care about. A little compassion is in order, maybe?

ill be happy when we go back to mailing letters after all the fossil fuels are no longer accessable. It mean people will have to pay -postage- to annoy their fellow man…

173. MJ - November 3, 2012

@176 @177

PS: Here’s betting that you are the same person.

179. ketleofun - November 3, 2012

Saw Wreck It Ralph with the kiddos tonight, and there was a preview for a late November screening of “Q Who” and “Measure Of A Man” , to promote release of season 2 blue ray………….

180. Paul - November 4, 2012

Alright, what the hell is “Castilian”? Whatever happened to plain and simple “Spanish”? Is it some new kind of PC nonsense, perhaps to differentiate “European” Spanish from “American” Spanish?

Also, why no Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Serbian…? One would think that on BluRay, one could easily fit enough subtitles for ALL the languages in the world.

181. Amorican - November 5, 2012

My question is, when it says

# Episode Promos
# 1988 On-Air Season Two Promo

Does this mean the stuff with voice-over work by Ernie Anderson? That guy was awesome! THE LOOOOOOVE BOAT!!

182. Matt Wright - November 5, 2012

@Amorican – Yes it does, this was the same with Season 1.
