Don’t ask me why the description for Star Trek #38 subscription variant says it will have a Kira photo cover, but the cover image features Odo. I guess IDW works in mysterious ways.

‘Exploring Star Trek Comics’ Book

Finally, if you’re going to Shore Leave 36 next month, be sure and look for Joseph F. Berenato, editor of New Life and New Civilizations: Exploring Star Trek Comics. Joe will be moderating a panel discussing Star Trek comics with contributors Robert Greenberger, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore and others. TrekMovie will be talking to Joe about this project very soon. I’m really looking forward to reading the essays in this forthcoming non-fiction book.

looking forward to must of them in fact i feel the jj comics are better than the films

Thank you for the article.

(I love the cover art by Juan Ortiz.)

That cover art by Ortiz is fantastic.

The comics are not canon but fun nonetheless…. I stopped reading them some time ago…I think I will just wait for the Q story in paperback….Comics are quite expensive in the Age of Obama….

Nu trek comics are a joke but Byrne’ s photonovel with the original crew and the superb extended version of Harlan Ellison’ s teleplay…TOS lives again. You can not kill the original stuff…

I would love to see Ortiz do covers for some of the early Trek novels I remember… like Blish’s “Spock Must Die.” I had the paperback with the cheesy orange cover with Nimoy in the high-collared uni from WNMHGB, playing 3-D chess. Loved it at the time. But, it could use a re-do on the cover.
Movie posters would also be cool!!

ST TMP could be a giant disco-colored cloud hovering over the bridge, while the crew nods off. Except for Sulu, who apparently could stare at the cloud all bug-eyed forever.

Pilot Fred, you’re not alone.

The adaptation of Harlan Ellison’s original “City” teleplay is the most intriguing and worthwhile Trek project to come along in years, if not decades. I can’t wait to pick up issue #2 next week.

4 Niles, really? WTF does Obama have to do with it?

8 I need to get this.
