One of the big elements of San Diego Comic-Con is cosplay. TrekMovie has compiled some of the fans who came in Star Trek garb, including an invasion of "Star Trek Bunnies." We also have a look at Firefly’s Nathan Fillion dressed up as Capt. as Kirk. Check out the photos below

Hollywood Reporter Dresses Nathan Fillion as Kirk + Zoe as Ripley

For their special Comic-Con edition, The Hollywood Reporter got a number "Titans of Comic-Con" to recreate some classic characters. Nathan Fillion chose to appear as the classic Capt. Kirk from Star Trek.

Another ‘Titan’ from THR was Star Trek’s Zoe Saldana, who appeared as Ellen Ripley from the Alien series.

I like bunnies.

Nathan Fillion as Kirk is great! “Firefly” was such a wonderful and unusual series, it was Star Trek with no civilization behind it, no Star Fleet, no Federation. I love it.

Me too. And yet, something compels to ponder what the story is behind them? Their costumes suggest more the INFERIOR FIVE superheroine than Playboy.

@3 Disinvited,

Thats a lot of Dumb Bunnies. I too have questions about who sponsored such a well costumed and outfitted collection of ‘professional’ looking women. But I doubt it’s hinting at a DC/Trek crossover … Are those Tribbles glued to their backsides?

Let’s just hope these girls don’t turn up arm in arm with Kirk in the next movie … Is anybody else tired of girls kissing each other for entertainment purposes?

As for Zoe … We get it, you’re a tough gal, put the guns down.

I love Nathan Fillion, but ever since Dr. Horrible, I can’t see him as Kirk … but he’d make a great Zapp Brannigan.

I love the guy with Lirpa and cut shirt [Kirk in “Amok Time”] and the Redshirt with his proud “Expendable” sign

As for the bunnies … [sigh] lotsa fanboy appeal I suppose.

What’s not to like about pretty girls dressed as TOS bunnies?

It adds a bit of cool to the event.

Would’ve been even better to have an Orion male dressed up as Hef to accompany the bunnies.

It’s showbiz, baby!

7. Cygnus-X1

According to what Enterprise revealed; an Orion male dressed up as Hef….on a dog collar and chain….

On a sidenote: You know, cosplay is really interesting. Nothing I’d do, but I look at some of the stuff on Tumblr and it’s fascinating. Many cosplayers put so much time and effort into creating their costumes themselves. Not so much for Trek, when you can buy a lot of the stuff, but there are interesting things out there.

I want to pet the bunnies, George. I want to pet them and hug them and squeeze them. I love bunnies, George.

Worth noting that the red-headed Starfleet Bunny is Chloe Dykstra, daughter of special-effects wiz John Dykstra. She’s a major presence in cosplay.

Yeahhh…I don’t see why anyone would be “sexually harrassed” dressed like that. Not at all!! ;-)

Actually, no. I’m not tired of girls kissing each other.

A Vulcan playboy bunny? Illogical, but hot!

And I love the ripped shirt-Kirk-with-Lirpa cosplay! Clever

Video, or it did not happen.

The top left portion, of the top left photo made me suspicious this was all photoshopped. : o

But seriously, can we get some garter belts in the next Trek! : )

You mean like she had:

on Bela’s desk?

11. Cyrano Jones – July 28, 2014

I certainly don’t see why anyone would be sexually harassed dressed like that. And I mean it. I’m a grown man. I can find people attractive and refrain from making stupid comments or touching them inappropriately. I also understand that Comic Con is not a singles bar, and women aren’t there to be propositioned. Go, enjoy yourself, look at all the interesting costumes, take some pictures. But just because I see a woman wearing a Trek oriented bunny suit doesn’t mean that I have to approach her with bad pick up lines. She probably didn’t come to Comic Con hoping that some guy would sweep her off her feet with a witty line, like “Yo honey, why don’t you open them hailing frequencies for me so I can beam you over to my crib for dinner?”

Uh, the second photo from the top.

The brunette on the left in the front row. Look at those arms. Is that a guy?

What did he do, rent the boobs for the occasion?

Aren’t Trek Playboy Bunnies and a Trek Hugh Hefner (in the back, brothers…look at the WHOLE picture) sort of the antithesis of what Trek is all about?

Now, as an expression of one aspect of what Gene Roddenberry was about all, it’s right on the money.

BTW, they were only one degree of separation a least…I believe Hef hired Nichelle Nichols to sing some gigs at the Chicago Playboy Club.

The train has left the station on Fillion playing Kirk, who would have done a hell of a job if they went with an older cast (which would NOT have been the shrewd choice).

I do think it would be great to see him in the JJ-verse as another Star fleet Captain. Thank God it sounds like Mr. Orci will be taking us into fresh territories, but a cameo as a young Captain Matt Decker could be fun.

@19. Well, yeah, but this crowd isn’t much on details….TOS had it’s share of tin-foil clad bikini girls, but god forbid that JJ stuck one in there…..

You guys are true men of with an appreciation of women only bettered by Shatner!

Harry. You’z gotz sum werk to do.

According to what Enterprise revealed; an Orion male dressed up as Hef….on a dog collar and chain….

That brings up an interesting point.

In the Star Trek Continues episodes, Lolani, it’s said that the Orion culture underwent a revolution where the men rose up and subjugated the women. This jibes with the way that the Orion women were portrayed in TOS, but I’m wondering now if that’s canon or a conceit of Star Trek Continues? It’s a goo premise, where ever it comes from. Maybe it was also in a Trek novel?

Any TOS Treksperts wanna chime in on this and impress us all with your skillz?

17. LogicalLeopard – July 28, 2014

“Yo honey, why don’t you open them hailing frequencies for me so I can beam you over to my crib for dinner?”

Writing this down….

Let me assure you that if you’re thinking that “It’s a goo premise” sounds vulgar in the context of Orion slave women, it’s 100% due to your own filthy, filthy mind.

It’s a *good* premise, naturally.

Just proves that Hugh Hefner and Playboy magazine are going to around in the 23rd century….

Nobody noticed that the first pic is Mythbuster Grand Imahara and his girlfriend Jenny Newman?

Grant… Not Grand. LOL Can’t type late at night.

@22 TrekMadeMeWonder “Harry. You’z gotz sum werk to do”

D’OH!

” Aren’t Trek Playboy Bunnies and a Trek Hugh Hefner (in the back, brothers…look at the WHOLE picture) sort of the antithesis of what Trek is all about?” — Chuckunit

Well, as this is ComicCon and NOT Trek ComicCon, I think it is more about the Playboy Bunny Cosplay than about the Trek or appropriateness thereof?

# 25. LT Bailey – July 28, 2014

” Just proves that Hugh Hefner and Playboy magazine are going to around in the 23rd century….” — LT Bailey

See above, but even if this did come to pass being published by Orion Press, no doubt, judging by the reaming Lt. Barclay got over his holodeck women it doesn’t seem to make it to the 24th? Does it?

Filthy filthy mind or no, “goo” has to be the best Freudian slip indicating what really was on a person’s mind that I’ve seen in a loooong time. ;-)

“Who’s a goo bunny? You are! Oh, yes you are! You a goo bunny!”

Wow. Straight from the summer break on Risa to SDCC.

The swimsuits were a big hit this summer on Risa, in Star Trek: Online. With that particular style of swimsuit being called the ‘Playboy Bunny’ by most everyone.

My first thought and main guess is that it was Cryptic/Orci/CBS taking the concept to fruition. I’m being hopeful they are all working together on the transition from the third film to television and will let people help shape canon via events in the Star Trek: Online MMO.

Next it was matching the bunnies to my favorite group of gals in ST:O. I see, Connie, Flora, BadName Betty ( : swoon :), Rachel, D’Bryg, Bray, Storm, Kyla, T’Kyr… … …

Thank you to all the models who made part of this summer a reality. :le swoon : : Thud :

28. Disinvited – July 28, 2014

HA!

Also, is it just me, or does the term cosplay come across as inherently kinky?

And again with “come across”…

That’s 100% on you.

And again with “on you”…

OK, I need to stop saying things.

Hey, thanks for playing! Tell him what he’s won, Johnny!

Today’s contestant takes home a lovely pearl necklace…

Here you go, Harry.

You must begin your appreciation of true Trek beauties…

*****************************

I don’t think that’s any way canon, meaning having had appeared in a Trek series, nor was it implied. It’s interesting, but in order for the men to revolt, they would have had to find some means to counteract the effects of the women’s pheromones. But then again, why would they want to? If you’ve been dominated and enthralled by women through attraction, exactly how many people are going to protest? Unless the Orion women are doing the men really, really wrong somehow, and it’s in their better interest to revolt. To revolt, you really need a good reason, because I’m imagining that based on that kind of biology, the whole society would have shifted to compliance. Not only would they think that way in the presence of women, but their attitudes and opinions would probably make them feel the same way when there’s not even a woman present.

I love you, Harry.
I really do.

@40

Right back atcha, big guy!

You da man, THX!

@39 Logical Leopard

How about this for a pick-up line at ComiCon……..

You walk over to the gorgeous Orion Slave Girl and say “You see my friend over there?” (point to the Andorian) “He wants to know if YOU think I’M cute”

42. Harry

*groooan* *LOL* You need to have a more Trek theme to it though…..like falling out of your chair when someone passes by, and muttering, “That Orion slave girl stole my heart……that….ORION SLAVE GIRL….STOLE MY HEART!!!” Because, we ALL know that those women are specifically coming to ComicCon to lure a boyfriend who has a comprehensive knowledge of Trek and can quote it in a romantic manner….

Extra Credit: If you have a friend, bring a lirpa and ahn-woon (sp) and find a very attractive woman dressed as a Vulcan. Look for the T’pol’s and femmeSpock’s maybe. When you find one, say, “Peace and Long life. I could not help but notice the flawless perfection of your aesthetic qualities. Would you mind standing here impassively while my friend and I fight to the death over you? Could indeed, the winner accompany you to Starbucks for some Vulcan Spice Tea or the equivalent Terran beverage? Please say yes. It is the only thing that can hold back the blood fever.”

43 LL, LOL!

@43

As Spock Prime said to Data, “not bad”

Love the Axanar Girls!

uh… i gotta admit, the Vulcan Bunny is… yeah, i’d hit that, if i was -allowed- too XD
