Orci & Kurtzman To Produce ‘Vampire Chronicles’ Movies For Universal

Roberto Orci is still at work with co-writers Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne on the script for the next Star Trek film, slated for 2016. But he has also added a couple of new movie projects as producer to his slate. TrekMovie has confirmed reports that Orci is teaming up with long-time writing/producing partner Alex Kurtzman to reboot the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles series as well as The Mummy. STLV: Shatner Previews TNG Doc & Talks Star Trek V & JJ-Trek + Ellison & Koenig Debate Fan Productions

The last day of the convention was headlined by none other than Star Trek legend William Shatner, who gave a preview of his new TNG documentary and talked a bit of Trek, including giving opinions on JJ Abrams and Chris Pine. Sunday also had another Harlan Ellison panel, this time with longtime friend Walter Koenig. The pair had an interesting exchange talking about fan productions. More details and photos below.

The Star Trek Convention in Vegas saw the announcement of Star Trek Online’s next expansion – "Delta Rising," and as the name implies it will take players into the Delta Quadrant – complete with some voice talent from Star Trek: Voyager. Simon Pegg was the headliner for Saturday and appeared before a packed and enthusiastic Star Trek Las Vegas Con crowd. STLV: Brannon Braga Misses Working On Star Trek + Talks Frankly About Voyager, Enterprise + More

On Saturday veteran writer/producer Brannon Braga was set to appear with Manny Coto – his fellow executive producer from the last two seasons of Star Trek Enterprise – but Manny was stuck in traffic so Brannon went solo. He covered a lot of ground discussing his time with Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise. He also talked about how his recent Cosmos series had a little bit of Trek in it and how he now “misses” working on Star Trek. Details and photos below.

Today at the Las Vegas Star Trek convention some of the team behind the Star Trek: The Next Generation in HD project held a panel where they talked about the project and revealed some details on the Season 7 Blu-ray release.
