Now’s your chance to pick up an amazing collection of Trek comics and also help a good cause.
Humble Bundle and IDW Publishing are offering The Humble Comics Bundle: Star Trek, which features an amazing selection of Star Trek comics culled from IDW’s catalog.
The entire digital bundle features over $350 worth of comics for a remarkably small price. The idea is that you “pay what you want”, meaning anything over the minimum price listed. The money you spend can be dispersed as you see fit, with options to have the money got to IDW or to the more than 30,000 charities Humble Bundle supports.
The pricing works like this:
By paying $1 or more, you can receive Star Trek Classics: Vol. 1-3, Star Trek: Next Generation – Ghosts, Star Trek: The Next Generation – Hive, Star Trek: Vol. 1-3, Star Trek: Countdown, Star Trek: Countdown to Darkness, Star Trek: Movie Adaptation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine – Fool’s Gold, and Star Trek: Gold Key Archives: Vol. 1-2.
By paying $8 or more, you get Star Trek Classics: Vol. 4: Beginnings, Star Trek Classics: Vol. 5: Who Killed Captain Kirk?, Star Trek: Vol. 4-6, Star Trek Archives: Vol. 1-3, Star Trek: Gold Key Archives: Vol. 3-4, Star Trek: New Visions: Vol. 1, Star Trek: Nero, Star Trek: Khan, and Star Trek: Spock Reflections.
If you pay $15 or more, you’ll receive Star Trek/Planet of the Apes: The Primate Directive, Star Trek/Green Lantern: The Spectrum War, Star Trek: Vol. 10-11, Star Trek: Legion of Super-Heroes, Star Trek: Harlan Ellison’s City on the Edge of Forever, Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who: Assimilation Vol. 2, Star Trek: New Visions: Vol. 3, Star Trek: Year Four, Star Trek: Year Four – The Enterprise Experiment, and Star Trek: Assignment Earth.
If you pay $25 or more, you’ll receive everything above plus a special trade paperback featuring a brand-new photo story, a sequel to “Arena”, by legendary writer/artist John Byrne. The book will also feature a reprint of the first issue of Byrne’s Leonard McCoy: Frontier Doctor.
This a limited time offer, so don’t wait too long. The sale runs from now until Wednesday July 13 at 11 a.m. PST. You can click here to get started.
I’ll have to check this out, maybe to psyche me up for the new film a bit….
By the way, you guys are doing a dynamite job with the site lately – keep up the good work!
Oh and I thought this was about computer games. I SO hope that at some point the “Elite Force” games will see a digital release somewhere…
Supposedly there is a new Sulu featurette out there.
I thought it was worth mentioning.
Hopefully Star Trek: Vol. 7-9, Star Trek: New Visions: Vol. 2 and some others will be added soon. I’m not fond of holes in my collection. :P
So, if you pay with Amazon, does the package go to your Kindle/Comixology account?
Very keen to pick up the Gold Key comics: I loved those when I was growing up, especially the more utilitarian interior ship designs.
It’d be nice if the files worked. More than half of them give error messages with pages not loading. No matter what format I’ve tried or how many attempts I’ve made (in case there was an error in downloading)…still the same results. I’ve even tried different readers. I get some pages to load with one, others load with another, but none load all pages. I supposed I’ll end up having to change the file extension & ‘unzip’ them to access the individual images.
I’m glad I set most of the donation I made to go to the charity I chose. At least then the money goes to people who need & deserve it because neither IDW nor Humble Bundle do.
“amazing”?
