‘For The Love Of Spock’ Trailer Shows The More Personal Side Of Leonard Nimoy

A very heartfelt and emotional trailer for Adam Nimoy’s documentary about his Dad and Spock has hit the interwebs.

The project, funded through crowdsourcing platform Kickstarter, features reflections from many of Leonard’s family and friends, including William Shatner, Zachary Quinto, and JJ Abrams.

It will be released both theatrically and on-demand on September 9, and will make it’s home video debut on Blu-ray, DVD, and iTunes in November.

WOW, looks great

tears

awesome.

So sad he’s gone, yet joyful to see this loving tribute to a great man and artist.

Perfection. Congratulations to Adam Nimoy. I dare any fan to not tear up….. Especially at the “I have been” at the end.

Looking very forward to that….

I got to attend one of the Kickstarter screenings presented by Adam in NYC last month, and I can tell you, you’re going to need a box of tissues to get through this. It was both poignant and delightful, and shows a side of Leonard’s life that is rarely seen. The Burning Man tribute killed me. Adam Nimoy looks so much like his father. He was Fanboy #1.

Go see it, if it comes to your town. Stream it if it doesn’t. Just see it.

That looks SO good. How wonderful a thing to look forward to!

Looks wonderful!

I am looking forward to this. I have two questions that may be none of my damn business. (Since I’m a Trekkie, I don’t know anything that’s none of my damn business.) I’ve read that Shat was involved in this project. Since it came after his book on Leonard I was wondering whether you (Adam) in your project address your father’s final break with his longtime friend. No judging here! I think a lot of us were surprised to learn about the split and would like to understand it better. Secondly, do you address your own personal struggles. Again, I’m just curious since those struggles seem to parallel things your father faced and dealt with.

Again, looking forward to this project.

If there was a split, it is between the two of them.

How do they do that thing where the photo of the cast becomes 3-D?

Adam, your father has given so much to the world. And now, you are giving us this beautiful gift. Thank you.

I would like to see Adam Nimoy play SPOCK in a Star Trek movie or upcoming STAR TREK series in 2017
