Dozens Of Star Trek Celebs Lined Up For Virtual Trek Con And More Live Online Events This Week

Comic-Con@Home will dominate online fandom next week, but this week is also shaping up to have a lot going on in the world of virtual events of interest to Star Trek fans, including the celebrity-packed Virtual Trek con.

Virtual Trek Con running from Wednesday, July 15 – Monday, July 20

The big thing is Star Trek this week is Virtual Trek Con, a free online convention being organized by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) and his 7th Rule podcast team. They have lined up a number of Star Trek celebrities and behind-the-scenes professionals from across the franchise for a series of live panels. There will also be some pre-recorded videos and fan events. Virtual Trek Con will take place primarily via two YouTube channels: The 7th Rule YouTube channel (dubbed the Aron Eisenberg Stage) and the Falling Tower YouTube channel (the Rene Auberjonois Stage). Fans will be able to interact with each other and with panelists using YouTube chat features during live events.

Wednesday, July 15: 5 events starting at 1:30 pm PT.

Panels include two DS9 episode reviews and discussions, with panelists including Cirroc Lofton, Ira Steven Behr, and Robert Hewitt Wolfe.

Thursday, July 16: 8 events starting at 10:00 am PT.

Panelists include Doug Drexler, Gary Graham, Tim Russ, Hana Hatae, and Mary Chieffo. There will also be a Star Trek Science Q&A with Star Trek science consultants.

Friday, July 17: 10 events starting at 9:30 am PT.

Panelists include Armin Shimerman, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, Nana Visitor, and Mary Chieffo. There will also be panels on The Orville, Star Trek ethics, and a Klingon makeup tutorial.

Saturday, July 18: 8 events starting at 10:00 am PT.

Highlights of the day include Picard, DS9 and Voyager panels, plus more behind-the-scenes Trek vets. Panelists include Nana Visitor, Alexander Siddig, Armin Shimerman, Daren Dochterman, Michelle Hurd, Mary Chieffo, Robert Beltran, and Manu Intriaymi.

Sunday, July 19: 8 events starting at 10:00 am PT.

Highlights of the day include a Discovery panel, two more DS9 panels and one on Star Trek movies. Panelists include Doug Jones, Raven Dauda, Andy Robinson, Max Grodénchick, Cirroc Lofton, Hana Hatae, Ira Steven Behr, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, Jason Matthew Smith, Tracee Cocco, and Ryan T. Husk. There will also be a special pre-recorded message to fans from Nichelle Nichols.

Monday, July 20: 3 events starting at 10:00 am PT.

The final day of the con will include some pre-recorded videos, a discussion of The Animated Series, and the closing ceremonies.

Wednesday, July 15: Wizard World Trek Virtual Experience

Wizard World’s stars of Star Trek virtual event features Star Trek: Enterprise star Anthony Montgomery along with Star Trek: Discovery guest star Alan Van Sprang, and Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager guest star Carolyn Seymour. There will be a free live Q&A at 1 pm PT. You can also purchase live video chats, autographs, and recorded video messages with the celebrities. More info at the WizardWorld site.

Saturday, July 18: GalaxyCon Live Voyager Event

GalaxyCon’s summer lineup of Star Trek virtual events continue on Sunday with yet another Star Trek: Voyager event, this time featuring Robert Picardo, Robert Duncan McNeill, Garrett Wang, and Tim Russ. Saturday, July 18: Creation DS9 Virtual Fan Experiences

Creation Entertainment has two Star Trek: Deep Space Nine virtual fan experiences lined up for Saturday, with back-to-back Q&As with James Darren, then Andy Robinson. The event starts at 11:15 am PT. My birthday is the 16th. I’m taking the week off to just enjoy all of this with my mom who first introduced me to Star Trek. LLAP!

Interesting to see Manu Intrayami’s name among the con attendees. I thought he had burned bridges with most of the Trek people.

I’m sure he’s promised not to use any homophobic slurs during the panel, otherwise they wouldn’t have agreed to let him be involved in this.

I really wish Marc Alaimo (Gul Dukat) planned on attending. He’s such an awesome actor and brought so much definition to the character he played. I know lots of other fans wish he’d show up too. We all wish him the best though!!
