As usual, international audiences are left out.

It’s frustrating for us I agree but they’re putting it on You Tube to entice people to subscribe to Paramount+. In most international territories Paramount+ hasn’t launched and Prodigy is months away from being released so commercially speaking it doesn’t make sense to release the episode globally not to mention the fact that future carriers like Sky might not allow it.

Greetings from Austria I watched it now on YouTube with a litte Trick. The first Episode is very good. I liked it.

Did you enjoy it? I realise you can get a vpn but I have enough digital subscriptions so I’ll wait until P+ comes to Sky in the UK. If it was SNW maybe I’d cave but I can hold out for Prodigy.

Yes the first episode was awesome!! I enjoyed it. I recommend the Epic Browser. There you have the opportunity to switch to a US-American Proxy Server to watch content on YouTube which is blocked for other countries.

Thank you Antares_36, I may check it out.

America first! Trump would be proud.

That’s probably to the streaming rights restrictions. It’s dumb, I know.

Of course it is. But this is all about maximizing profits. So we can`t be part of the Trek community because CBS wants to earn some extra millions. That is cheap, inexcusable and Anti-trek. And this has happened before with Lower Decks. And we still have no possibility of watching Short Treks. Star Trek more and more gets a US thing. Which is Anti-Trek too.

Isn’t that a bit over-dramatic?

And we still have no possibility of watching Short Trek

Who, or rather where, is “we”? The first season of Short Treks has been on Netflix for a while as part of Discovery.

Star Trek more and more gets a US thing

Most of Star Trek usually makes it outside of the U.S. One just has to wait a little while. The 2nd season of Short Treks (except the Picard one) seems to be the major exception.

This was not two-part…

It was one long part.

Agreed.

Is there anywhere where it actually is being run as two parts, with an actual split between halves, two discrete title / credits sequences, a recap of the events in the first half at the beginning of the second, etc.? I know that back in the day, the premieres (and certain other “event” episodes) of the Berman-era shows were initially run as single feature-length episodes and then split in half for reruns (frequently involving the trimming of material to accommodate a second opening, a second end credits sequence and a recap), as well as there having been at least one two-parter that ran as such in the US but that ran as a single feature-length episode overseas. Are they doing any of that with this show?

My first impression:
Finally this is watchable in Europe!
My second impression:
ARE YOU KIDDING?!?

Too bad we cant get Paramount + in the UK

I like that they release these premieres on YouTube, otherwise I wouldn’t have seen this or the first episode of LDS. Just watched Prodigy, and honestly found it to be a lot of fun. Absolutely gorgeous animation, fun (and funNY) characters. Drawbacks for me are the villains are pulled *directly* from Star Wars (General Grievous, anyone?), and the theme music is a little too Kelvin for me, as others have said. Should have recruited another composer. Some parts were a little goofy for me, but I’m 55 – this production isn’t aimed at me. Overall, I can see myself bingeing the entire season whenever I sign up for P+ next (?) year (maybe). Surprisingly impressed.

Watched it last night and it was a great start. I’ve said in the beginning this is the most alien crew and this show has made history of being the first CGI animated show. Every one of the characters already jumped out.

You mean the first CGI animated Star Trek series, right? Because…

Not a fan of CGI … but this rocked. Cool Start!!

Agreed – I’m pretty blown away so far!
