JJ Abrams is making another sci-fi TV show and he is bringing one of his Star Trek stars on board. Today it was announced that Karl Urban will be starring in Abrams show Human on Fox. CONFIRMED: J.J. Abrams to direct next ‘Star Wars’ for Disney

Variety and other Hollywood news sources are reporting today that J.J. Abrams is directing the next Star Wars after all.  There aren’t any details other than the fact Disney is close to closing the deal with Abrams. So treat this with a degree of skepticism until we see something official from Disney and/or Bad Robot directly. UPDATE 01/26/2013: Confirmed by Disney and J.J. Abrams

Will Star Wars Episode VII announcement hurt Star Trek Into Darkness marketing rollout?

Disney announced on Monday its purchase of Lucasfilm, and with Lucasfilm comes Star Wars. Disney’s also said that a new Star Wars trilogy will be made. Space Command Successfully Wraps Kickstarter Campaign + Watch SDCC VFX Preview

Space Command, the new independent sci-fi film project with Star Trek vets behind and in front of the camera, has wrapped up it’s Kickstarter fundraising campaign, and even exceeded its goal. Watch: SDCC Preview For JJ Abrams Mysterious Post-apocalyptic Series ‘Revolution’

This fall Star Trek director/producer (and co-creator of Lost and Fringe) JJ Abrams has another mysterious TV show headed to NBC, Revolution. The new series is set in a post-apocalypse world where all technology has stopped working. A new clip with footage and interview clips (including Abrams and pilot director Jon Favreau) was revealed at Comic Con and is now available from NBC. Watch it below
