Now the new Doctor McCoy is making light of possibly releasing spoilers – showing reporters that he has literally been gagged by JJ Abrams, however he continues to talk about something for Star Trek on YouTube. Karl Urban, Star Trek’s new Dr. McCoy, is starring in another big sci-fi movie – Dredd – coming out in September. And today Lionsgate released a full trailer for the film adaptation of the comic book. Check out all the Karl grimacing in a bleak future goodness below. Film Review: Prometheus

With Prometheus (in theaters today) director Ridley Scott returns to the film universe he started with Alien in 1979. Space Command KickStarter Launched – Project To Include Takei, Shimerman, Picardo & Phillips

The previously teased new project "Space Command" has now launched their KickStarter campaign. The envisioned series of sci-fi films feature a number of Star Trek vets behind the camera and they have also announced a number of Trek actors who are also involved, including Armin Shimerman, George Takei, Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo. PrometheusWatch: New Viral Video Promotes David The Robot + Russian Trailer Reveals More Footage

Without a Star Trek movie, TrekMovie has adopted Prometheus as our most anticipated film for the summer. Written by Trek sequel co-writer Damon Lindelof, the film looks to be a cool addition to the Alien universe. And today they released another cool viral video for the film showing off a Weyland robot. Plus there is a new Russian trailer that reveals more cool visuals (and dialog if you speak Russian). Check it out below. 




Watch: More Prometheus Footage Revealed

The original plan was for us to get the Star Trek sequel this June, but we will have to wait until next May for new Trek. However we here at TrekMovie are almost as excited over another June 2012 film – Prometheus, the Alien universe film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Trek co-producer/writer Damon Lindelof. More footage from the film has been released online, check it out below along with a new commercial. 


Lindelof: ‘Strong Desire’ To Show Something From Star Trek Sequel At Comic Con 2012

Fans are starting to wonder when they will get their first glimpse of the Star Trek sequel currently in production. A possibility could be at the annual San Diego Comic Con in July, and now producer/writer Damon Lindelof is saying that the team has a "strong desire" to be there with something to show. Terra Nova Cancelled – What Does This Say For Future Of Sci-Fi & Star Trek TV?

One of the biggest shows this fall was the time travel series Terra Nova, which included Star Trek vets Brannon Braga and René Echevarria as executive producers, along with Steven Spielberg. The ambitious and expensive show aired eleven episodes and has been on the bubble, but now Fox has decided it will not pick up Terra Nova for a second season.


Quinto Returning To ‘American Horror Story’ + deLancie To Guest On ‘Secret Circle’

A couple of Star Trek luminaries are set to return to TV screens (in addition to Leonard Nimoy heading to The Big Bang Theory). First up, Star Trek's new Spock Zachary Quinto will be returning for the second season of American Horror Story. Plus John deLancie (aka Q) is set for a guest spot on the CW show about witches, The Secret Circle.

Today the BBC, CBS and IDW (enough acronyms?) made official what was leaked last week…the Star Trek and Doctor Who franchises are headed for a mashup collision in a new comic book. Bruce Greenwood: ‘Content’ With Pike’s Role In Star Trek sequel

Bruce Greenwood made no secret of the fact that he wanted to return to the role of Christopher Pike for the Star Trek sequel. And last month we revealed he got his wish. In a new interview promoting his new show The River, Greenwood talked about returning to Trek and how he is "content" with Pike’s role in the sequel.


Orci & Kurtzman Developing Anne Rice’s ‘Body Thief’ Movie + Orci Tweets More Star Trek 09 Photos

Star Trek co-write producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are working on bringing the vampire Lestat back to the big screen. A new report says the pair are working with some other big Hollywood names and Anne Rice on a deal for her fourth vampire book "The Tale of the Body Thief," In other Orci news, he has tweeted some more of his photos from the last Star Trek movie.
