Well, that didn’t take long. Yes, we already have a Star Trekified parody of the popular Korean ‘Gangnam Style’ music video — this time, sung almost completely in Klingon. The video is actually of rather impressive quality, with all of the lyrics sung in Klingon, and the dancers in full Trek garb shooting on location. Very nicely done. Colbert and Stewart are Trekking again. Over the last couple of nights both of Comedy Central’s late night shows have thrown out Star Trek references. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart seems to have Wrath of Khan on their mind, while the Colbert Report sees the president as a Vulcan. Watch the clips below (if you live in the USA). It is a big news day today for Star Trek with two major production announcements. First, it was announced this morning that George Takei will star as Captain Sulu in the next Abrams-directed Star Trek film, Star Trek: Excelsior, with Roberto Orci penning the screenplay. Not too long after that news broke, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, noted theatre producer, announced that he would be adapting Trek for the stage in his production of Star Trek: The Musical.
Brent Spiner’s comedy webseries Fresh Hell has already released its second episode and it features a familiar guest star. Spiner’s Star Trek: The Next Generation co-star joins with "Brent" trying to borrow some cash from his old friend.
