Star Trek Continues Reaches Goal to Build Engineering Set + 3 Days Left in Kirkstarter 2.0

Fan series Star Trek Continues has been fundraising over the past month in their second ever Kickstarter campaign in the hopes of raising enough to make new episodes and, if stretch goals are met, build new sets. This week the series announced they have reached their first stretch goal, with pledges totaling over $150,000, which will allow them to build Scotty’s engine room.

Star Trek Continues Launches Kirkstarter 2.0 To Fund New Episodes

After three critically acclaimed episodes (and one more just in the can), the award-winning webseries, Star Trek Continues, today launched their second Kickstarter, dubbed “Kirkstarter 2.0”, to help fund two (or maybe more) new episodes and possibly build some new sets if stretch goals are reached. After only 12 hours, they’ve already raised over $40K, well on their way to their $100K goal.

Go Behind The Scenes of Star Trek Continues in New Documentary Series

The first two episodes of a new behind the scenes documentary take you onto the set of Star Trek Continues. Wired and Condé Nast Entertainment were on set for the filming of episode 3, “Fairest of Them All”. Producer Vic Mignogna takes you on a tour of what director James Kerwin calls “the fourth season of The Original Series”. The set designers, costume designers, makeup artists, editors, and everyone involved with the shooting have taken every step to ensure that the episodes of STC look and feel like something shot in the 1960’s, and the attention to detail is worthy of the nitpickiest of Trekkies (go ahead, do your worst in the comments). Look for episodes 3, 4, and 5 of the behind the scenes doc in weeks to come. Episode 1: CATCH VIC MIGNOGNA BEHIND THE SCENES IN THE SERIES STAR TREK CONTINUES
