Sunday was the final day of FedCon here in Düsseldorf, Germany, and the con was winding down. Today, there was a combo Trek panel with Wil Wheaton & Marina Sirtis remembering their time working on TNG, and working with Gene and Majel Roddenberry. It’s day three of FedConXX here in Düsseldorf, Germany, but the con is just as crazy as ever. In addition to setting the new world record for most costumed Trekkies in one place at one time, there were two Star Trek panels today: David Mack, author of Star Trek novels and screenplays for DS9 plus Nicole de Boer (Ezri Dax, DS9). Star Trek The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton closed its doors in September 2008 and earlier this year much of the attraction was auctioned off by CBS, but one piece remains. The original sign for ST: The Experience is still up at the Hilton, and some former Experience cast members are trying to preserve it. See the local news report below.

The critically acclaimed, but very, very low-rated, sci-fi drama series Caprica, co-created by Star Trek vet Ron Moore, has been canceled by Syfy, the network announced today. Five original episodes remain to be aired but they’ll be pulled from the schedule effective immediately.
