Con Report: TNG, DS9 & VOY Trek Stars At FedCon XIX

In the beginning of May more than 5,000 fans met their genre stars at FedCon XIX, Europe’s biggest Star Trek and Sci Fi convention, in Bonn, Germany. Star Trek was represented well by Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, Suzie Plakson, Chase Masterson, Martha Hackett and Manu Intiraymi. See below for a report from the event, including photos.

Trekkies in Germany and Tampa Beat Star Trek Costumed Fans Record

On May 1 Trekkies on two continents set out to break the world record for a gathering of fans in Star Trek costumes. The gatherings in Tampa, Florida and Bonn, Germany both succeeded in beating the record set in London earlier this year. But it was the group at the FedCon XIX Convention that wound up with what (pending certification) will be the new world record.  



Reminder: Vulcan Con & FedCon This Weekend – Costumed Record Attempts At Both

This weekend there are conventions on two continents full of Star trek celebs, and there will be attempts to set a new record of costumed fans at both! The Vulcan convention in Tampa, Florida and the FedCon on Bonn, Germany both kick off today. And you don’t need to attend the cons to participate in either record attempt.



June Star Trek Charity Auction – Contains Lots From Roddenberry Estate, William Shatner & 2009 Star Trek Movie

In June Julien’s Auctions will be holding an auction of items from the estate of Gene and Majel Roddenberry, from William Shatner and from JJ Abrams & Paramount. The lots, on auction to benefit charity, will range from personal items from Roddenberry’s office, to costumes from the 2009 Star Trek movie, to William Shatner’s motorcycle.    


Star Trek: The Exhibition May Be Headed To Riverside, CA

Earlier in the month TrekMovie reported the next two stops for the engagement of Star Trek: The Exhibition which recently ended in San Jose, will be Sacramento, CA and Louisville, KY. Today we have the first news on the other engagement that was most recently in Hollywood, CA. Next week the city council for Riverside, CA will decide if they are the next stop.


Canadian Vulcans Honor Leonard Nimoy: Photos, Video & Reports Roundup

This afternoon Leonard Nimoy “came home” to to the town of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada, where they held a parade for their adopted favorite son, gave him the key to the city, and unveiled a bust of the actor as Spock. More Star Trek: The Experience Warehouse Sale Video

Last weekend CBS and PropWorx held a warehouse sale of assets of the former Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. Former Borg cast member Vernon Wilmer has been working on a documentary about ST: The Experience and has just released an extended video from the event, including costumes being delivered to other ex cast members.



FedCon XIX Preview: DS9 Stars + Phase II Screenings + Trek Costume Record Attempt + more

From April 30th to May 2nd Europe’s biggest Star Trek and Sci-Fi convention will take place in Bonn, Germany. Around 5,000 fans will meet over 20 guests, including Trek stars Michael Dorn, Terry Farrell, and Nicole de Boer. Tampa Trekkies To Attempt To Break Star Trek Costumed Fans Record

In February a promotional event in London for the European roll-out of Star Trek Online set a Guinness World Record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters”. However, with only 99 costumed Trekkies, the record was begging to be broken. And that is exactly what will be attempted on Saturday May 1st in Tampa, FL. Details below.




‘Star Trek Live’ Stage Show To Premiere at Kennedy Space Center + Star Trek: The Exhibition Headed To Sacramento & Louisville

Vulcan Named Official Star Trek Capital of Canada

The small town of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada has been capitalizing on it’s Trek-ish name for the last couple of decades, and now they have made it official. Vulcan has now been deemed the ‘Official Star Trek Capital of Canada.’ The town is planning a number of events to celebrate, including a visit from Leonard Nimoy. All the details below.


Leonard Nimoy Talks Quinto Handoff, Oscar Snubs & More + Appearing This Weekend In Seattle

This weekend Leonard Nimoy will be appearing at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. A month ago Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences TV Hall of Fame. UPDATED: No Wins for Star Trek at WGA and MPSE Awards

[UPDATED] The 2009 Star Trek movie was up for honors at two different guild award shows being held tonight. First up was the WGA Awards, where Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman unfortunately failed to win for their Star Trek script. And it was the same story at the the MPSE Golden Reel Awards were Star Trek sound editors lost out in three categories. Full details below.

Shatner & Stewart Talk JJ Abrams Star Trek + More From San Francisco Star Trek Con

Last weekend Creation held an official Star Trek Convention in San Francisco. The event was headlined by Patrick Stewart and William Shatner who delighted the crowd with talk of Shakespeare, the new Star Trek movie and even pantyhose. The con also featured Trek stars such as Gary Lockwood, Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, Vaughan Armstrong, and even some Klingons Chancellors (J.G. Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly).
