The new Star Trek movie is not easy to classify. The film is not a traditional prequel like Star Wars Episode III, nor is it a traditional ‘canon reboot’ like Batman Begins. Some have wondered how the new film fits in with the Trek universe, and what affect it has on the extended universe. Cryptic have released details on their first Klingon Empire ship for their Star Trek Online MMORPG. The new game takes place in 2409, a few decades after Nemesis, with the the Federation facing off in a war against the Klingon Empire (and allies). Cryptic Studios released another one of their ‘path to 2409′ updates, telling the story between Star Trek Nemesis and the setting for the MMO.
