On Thursday March 18th Cryptic and Atari will release their first major content update for Star Trek Online with "Season One: Common Ground." Today they released their second trailer showing off the new features, check it out below.

The market research company NPD has released its list of top selling PC games for February and the new massive multiplayer game Star Trek Online is in the top five, twice. Both the regular version of the game and the Collectors Edition made it on the shortlist. Could strong sales for STO help finally reawaken the world of Star Trek games?
The massive multiplayer game Star Trek Online is now a month old, and already the game is set to evolve with more content. Today we have a all the details on upcoming "Common Ground" content update, plus a video showing off some of the cool new additions to the game.
For those bargain hunters there are a couple of good Star Trek deals out there right now. First up is the Deal of the Day at Amazon to get Star Trek Online for almost half off. There are also some great Star Trek Blu-ray deals, including Best Buy discounts on the TOS Blu-ray seasons, now going for only $40 each.
Star Trek Online has been out just a few weeks, but the game continues to evolve and expand. Cryptic have now announced a new State of the game, which gives you a update as to what is next, including new ‘raid’ missions. Zachary Quinto caused a bit of a tempest earlier in the week with his comments in one interview about taking a break from Star Trek. In some new interviews promoting Star Trek Online, the actor goes into more detail on his plans for the near future, and how he plans to return to Trek after doing some of his own projects. Excerpts below.
Star Trek Online has its official launch on Tuesday February 2nd, however the ‘head start’ for the game went live just minutes ago. That means that anyone who pre-ordered the game can start playing today. To help get you started, we are posting a number of tutorial videos made by our friends at the STOked podcast.
When you first launch Star Trek Online you will be treated to an introduction to game narrated by Leonard Nimoy which explains some of the back-story and ties it into the 2009 Star Trek movie. This intro was one of the last elements of the game added to the beta over last weekend, and so a few fans captured it and put it online. Check it out below.
Now the the beta test for Star Trek Online is over (see earlier report) the game is preparing for its official launch next Tuesday (and ‘head start’ this Friday). Today Cryptic posted a new ‘state of the game’, including comments dealing with bugs, some details on new content, and hints for for the first big update of the game.
