This week it was announced that CBS had granted a license for Star Trek replicas to eFX Collectibles, who also announced their first product will be a Mark IX TNG era Tricorder. In November JJ Abrams new Star Trek movie comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, but there will also be additional special editions. We have already announced the Best Buy Blu-ray Gift set with badges and today it was announced Amazon will have a special limited edition Blu-ray set which comes with an Enterprise replica model. Back in May we reported that Quantum Mechanix had picked up the license to make replicas from JJ Abrams Star Trek movie. Today QMx revealed their first replica, a limited-edition studio-scale detailed replica of the new USS Enterprise. QMx will begin taking orders on this replica in September, with the first models (of a total of 500) shipping to customers in October. Since we first reported from the Las Vegas Star Trek convention that CBS announced that Diamond Select was making a life-sized Original Series captain’s chair, there has been a lot of buzz about this hot new item.
