EXCLUSIVE: Ira Steven Behr Reveals Details About Deep Space Nine Documentary Coming Soon

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine showrunner Ira Steven Behr today revealed that he has been working on a documentary on DS9 for several years that explores what the show was really about and its lasting impact on the Star Trek franchise and culture. After the announcement, TrekMovie secured an exclusive interview with Behr to further discuss the project, which he hopes will be out in 2017.

The new episode, written by James Kerwin & Vic Mignogna and directed by James Kerwin, will take place in the mirror universe. The story picks up where The Original Series episode “Mirror, Mirror” left off and tells the story of what happened to the mirror landing party after returning to the I.S.S. Enterprise. The episode is set to release June 15 at Supanova in Sydney, Australia, and will be available on Vimeo and YouTube the same day worldwide. Also lookout for a behind the scenes documentary dedicated to the making of “Fairest of Them All”. We are also thrilled to announce a TrekMovie.com special event. Happy New Year from TrekMovie

Happy New Year! Because of holiday travel and vacation plans over this next week we’ll be checking on the site intermittently, so have some patience if your comment doesn’t show up right away. Our review of the third season of Star Trek: Enterprise will also be a bit later than hoped, due to the timing of the release being right after the new year, review copies were sent the week of Christmas, right in the middle of visiting with family. So don’t forget that Enterprise Season 3 comes out on Blu-ray on January 7th in North America.
