For this year there will be a Star Trek specific panel, likely with Abrams and much of his crew and some cast (+ hopefully new images or clips, but no details are nailed down yet). There is also usually a CBS products / Pocket Books panel and other smaller Trek panels as well. Also DST often do ‘exclusive’ SDCC Trek items.
Trek Celebs TBA, expect many

TrekMovie.com will likely hold a movie panel (like in Burbank earlier this month) with some special guests. Paramount chose to make a special poster for last year’s con so they take it seriously too.

Come one come all to Toronto in July!!

This summer….Comic Con on my course heading. Or, as I say, “Heading out to Eden; Yay, brother!” We reach! Been to a handful, and while they are exhausting and “Mark of Gideon”- crowded (you could almost stand still and let the crowd MOVE you!), it’s always a blast. Makes the Creation Cons look like overpriced garage sales. And if you haven’t booked a nearby hotel yet? Don’t bother, the reservations are usually filled by February.

I bet they’ll show us the first images from Star Trek at Comic Con.

#3 That’s one of the 2,178 reasons I’m going! The first glimpse of ANYTHING big is usually spotted there. I remember seeing Natalie Portman in person shaved bald for V For Vendetta; and she pulled it off! You see some of the same celebrities and you see a whole bunch of new ones. But a LOT more A-list talent than you see at other conventions. Samuel L. Jackson was there once. Though I missed seeing him in favor of a 50th anniversary reunion of “Forbidden Planet.” God, I am such an old-school geek!

Just so ya know, FedConUSA added JG Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly today.

Ahhh,, if only there was a Star trek Con in New Zealand,,

Its Anzac Day here today,,

We will Remember them,,

Yeah, DragonCon!

Chekov and Sulu both!

I checked the official Dragon*Con guest list, and there is no mention of Michael Dorn. He _is_ listed as a confirmed guest, however, at the TrekTrak webpage. I hope someone can straighten out whether or not he will be there, I’m a big fan!

I remember going to a con when I was younger. I think in ’95. Wow! That long ago already. I was so excited because James Doohan walked off of the elevator right as we were getting on! Anyway, that was in Valley Forge, PA. Do they no longer have conventions there? I haven’t seen them advertised like they used to be during the heyday of Trek (and sci-fi) in the ’90’s.

this is a GREAT new column. Keep updating this for coming months and seasons.

Unfortunately, i’m not “near” any cons.

but i like to keep updated..cuz it would be awful to miss something that i actually could attend.

I’m in the northern panhandle of the great state of West Virginia. Anything in Pittsburgh, PA would be perfect…Columbus and Cleveland work for me as well.

Only 38% for Winona? C’mon, fellow trekkers. Where’s your style? (^_~)

I always go to the Vegas Creation Con but I’m also going to Comic Con this year. Should be insane although I doubt we’ll get as much Trek stuff since the movie has been pushed back. Bummer.

I stopped going to CC a few years back when the size of the crowds started freaking me out but I couldn’t resist this year.

Trekmovie has *got* to cover Dragoncon!! Y’all would have such a blast in Atlanta!!! The parade thru downtown alone is worth the trip!

Peace. Live long and prosper.

Re the poll:

Um… I don’t want to flirt with either Ryder or Morrison. How ’bout a poll for the the “other team”?

Best Male Eye Candy in Trek XI maybe? Decisions, decisions!

Peace. Live long and prosper.

Vancouver needs a GOOD sci-fi convention. It’s been over 15 years since the last GOOD one.

RE: cover dragon con
As mentioned, we hope to cover as many as possible and that is on the short list for additional ones. Not sure if I can make it but I will try and be sure it gets covered.

I do want people to send in emails who think they can help with con coverage, especially for the out of the way (far away from Los Angeles) ones. And especially ones with Quinto

Anthony- need/want Toronto Trek (uh, I mean Polaris…) coverage? Been covering it for years! MANY classic memories! Great people.

#8: Eric Watts, who runs the TrekTrak, tends to be more efficient than the guys who run the main D*C web page, so I’m not surprised that it went up on the TT page before it went up on the main con page. *laughs*

BTW, as stated in the post, for the three or four of you who are interested in TREK fiction *wry grin*, Shore Leave is the place to be. There’s always a Pocket preview panel Friday night that usually has some big announcements, and the Meet the Pros party Friday night is usually a great opportunity to meet and greet the authors and get their signatures.

This year’s author guests (which was too long to include up top) include:

The novel TNG: GREATER THAN THE SUM by Christopher L. Bennett and the collection of novels MYRIAD UNIVERSES: ECHOES AND REFRACTIONS by Keith R.A. DeCandido, Chris Roberson, and Geoff Trowbridge should both be debuting at the convention, as well.

They just announced Manny Coto’s going to be at Creation in Las Vegas, along with his Enterprise precedecessor Brana Braga. It will be way cool to hear what Coto has to say, and yes I’m interested in what Braga has to say too.

Anyone else going to Vegas in August?

I got great seats for Pearl Jam in June, and Shore Leave in July, this summer is looking up already!! :?)

Vegas here I come!

Thanks, John Tenuto, for including TrekTrak in your report and to everyone else for their words of support.

I’ve been told I put on a pretty good show. Y’all come on down to Atlanta (pronouned “Adlanna”) and play with us for a few days.
