Star Trek’s new Spock, Zachary Quinto, just released a new comedy short film online at FunnyOrDie.com. Called "Hostage: A Love Story", Zach stars as a gunman who takes a hostage, only to have her take his heart. Watch it below.

I saw the ending coming, but it was still amusing… yeah, Pine as the therapist would have been awesome, but I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for Brent Sexton (“Life” was a great show).
Well, that was a bit of mental diarrhea, but I was still amused. Zach’s acting was good.
SPLAT! Quinto is crazy dark funny. I like him even more after seeing that! I really hope the writers smoke a biggie and give new Spock an “amok” type scene. Peace.
I wonder how many kids are looking for stuff he’s starring in?
Playing Spock means becoming, for all intents and purposes, a role model.
Dropping the F-bomb isn’t what makes this funny, and material such as this is inappropriate for younger Trek who would be looking for other stuff with Zachary Quinto in.
I’m sorry, but as amusing as it was, it was not the smartest move.

Get real. An actor shouldn’t have to monitor what they do because they’re viewed as “role models”. Its up to the parents to monitor what their children do and view. Furthermore, there is a HUGE difference between an actor and a part they might happen to play.
We’re already dealing with enough censorship because people would rather have government and other authorities filter material instead of people themselves having to take on that responsibility.
43 – You have a point, but there is such a thing as public image.
What if a Disney character was portrayed as robbing a store, dropping f-bombs and engaging in adult situations?
You see, you and I know what reality is, but a younger kid can be far more impressionable and open to influence.
“But Zachary does it, why can’t I do it?”.
This is why we have movie ratings.

That’s ridiculous.. Zachary Quinto is not a Disney character nor is he any sort of ‘corporate brand’. He’s his own person and like any other actor, musician, or artist, he can change his ‘image’ or steer his career in any direction he wishes. If someone makes him into a role model, that’s their issue. They are the ones imposing that on him, and I doubt he has purposely set out to become a role model for anyone. (*cough*Sylar*cough* -_-)

He’s stepping into the role of a heroic character who can be viewed as a role model (Spock).
Growing up, Nimoy’s Spock was a BIG influence on me in terms of valuing logic, and influenced my IT career, and showed me that one does not have to be like everyone else to be accepted.
What is the “I will kill this f-in b**tch” “Spock” going to show the next generation?
Sylar is clearly the villain, clearly bad as portrayed.
In this, he can be seen as the star/hero of the piece.

46-Ummm, Have you EVER seen the William Shatner roast, when in teh beginning him and Nimoy are dropping F bombs at each other? If you haven’t, it’s on this site, and it’s classic. How do you explain that?
