Last weekend two lucky Star Trek fans got to have their wedding in the Final Frontier. Brad Siegel and Kate Erwin, winners of a contest held by the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, got married on Sunday on a replica of the USS Enterprise D bridge at Star Trek The Exhibition. The couple has sent TrekMovie a special video telling their story from a proposal at a convention to the wedding itself.

Most cool!
Good for them!
I’m already married.
They actually left their parent’s basement…..Lol
How cool. That is great. I hope they live long and prosper.
This is really cool!
I’m impressed they convinced everybody else to dress up. But… what’s with the guy in the cape holding the stick?
6: I was kinda curious about that too.
Maybe LARP is alive and well in the 24th century!
Video is nicely done!
My guess of the Guy with the stick is he’s a Elder Vulcan from STM 3:TSFS. Will have to dig out my DVD to find out. In the worst case I’ll have to watch all the trek shows except Voyager, still do not have that show on DVD but do have all first aired shows on S-VHS tape.
But tape will be like going back to Moris Code and Telegraph.
You look beautiful, Kate! Congratlations to both of you. The bridge looked awesome; made me nostalgic for our old STTE home…
6. The guy with the stick is probably a horrible impersonation of that Reman viceroy that hung out with Shinzon in Nemesis. I guess.
Could just be a guy with a stick !
Also who’ll have the bridge from STTE ?
Normally I cringe at things like this, because I usually think it makes the more moderate Star Trek fans look geeky too. But in this instance watching that video made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, sort of like there’s hope for humanity after all.
Congratulations guys! :-)
@ #6, He reminded me of a Ori Prior from Stargate SG-1. But that would be silly in a Star Trek video.
Hopefully, Kate had a little Barbara Luna nightie for when they got back to the Captain’s quarters…
Brad & Kate Plus 8… Klingons? :)
Best wishes to them! Hope they served Romulan Ale at the reception?
I think if James Cawley is thinking… well, the New York TOS Bridge Set could serve as a wedding chapel on most weekends when filming isn’t underway! And just think, if someone wants to get married by Elvis, or by Captain Kirk, he’s ready to go. :)
I lament the passing of Star Trek: The Experience. The Hilton really screwed that over. Doesn’t look like Neonopolis is going to really ever happen, either.
Congratulations to the happy couple! Live long and prosper!
That was really nice.
You look great happiness does that to a person. I was sent this link on twitter and started watching going I know her. I was at her B-day party in vegas. Missed seeing you durring our last trip hanging with the STTE gang. How great that you could do this.
To the trek newlyweds I wish them agalaxy full of joy! My younger daughter is planning a trek theme wedding! And not in my basement!
lol The guy with the staff is classic!
Congrats Brad & Kate on your wedding, Lisa and I voted for you and hoped you would win. It was nice to see Jerry and Francine were there for you as it reminded me of the STTE times we shared. I agree with April, it does make me miss the TNG bridge at STTE.
That is awesome Congrats to you Brad & Kate
nice video! ok, i’ll say it….NERDVILLE!!!!
Congrats to the lovely couple-may they have a wonderful life together-Yeh makes us sad and nostalgic for the late great experience in vegas-thanx yet again to quarksbartender, april, Jerry and Francine(even tho I dudnt get to meet her) and the many others who worked there and made every moment that we were there over the decade magical-we sure miss you all-its nice to see an enterprise d bridge wedding again-didnt think we would see one any more-sigh sniff teardrops–
Nothing like fat whit geeks finally getting out of their parent’s home…
Is this really a story?? Ugh…
It’s very romantic–and a testament to the strength of their bond–that Brad and Kate decided to make their special day uniquely their own. If they’re wiling to start their union with such a public declaration of their uniqueness, I’d say they’re in for many years of happiness together. I wish them well.
I thank you all for your kind thoughts.
27 wonderful comments but all I can focus on is that #26 called me fat. I suppose a person who can’t even spell the word “white” isn’t worth losing sleep over. Thanks again to all of you for your well-wishes, happy words and thoughts for our happiness.
–Kate
congratulations KATE AND BRAD!YOU are amazing in that dress…and i am proud of admiral BRAD!:)
Even if i am a convinced single,i wish that one day…if i will married…to have T’POL’s weddingdress !AND i think that will be…even if my parents will call the 112….that it’s the number in ROMANIA for 911!:)
Video doesn’t work…it says I have to accept their friend request before I can view it…
This is just too, too, too cool. I have to say (and I’ll get a little corny here) it’s always been my dream to get married on the bridge!
Congratulations KATE and BRAD :-)
31 Video doesn’t work. – I can´t see it, too.
I can’t see the video either, but well done, guys!
Brad, you’re a lucky guy! I wish I could find a girl like Kate!
Unimpressed Borg, I am unimpressed with you. As punishment, I shall cut you off from the collective and not talk to you! Ha! *Activates subspace damper*
