If you are in the Bay Area, then this is your reminder that this weekend is a big official Star Trek convention. On hand will be the two big captains, William Shatner and Patrick Stewart, along with a number of other celebrities. And today it was just announced that Cryptic will be holding a Star Trek Online event close to the con as well . And if you are in NYC, there is a free showing of the ‘Start Trekkin’ improv show.
Kirk and Picard back together again in SF this weekend
The official Creation Star Trek Convention is being held at the San Francisco Westin St. Francis Hotel this Saturday and Sunday. The headliners are Patrick Stewart and William Shatner, both of whom will be appearing on Sunday. They will be appearing separately, and also in a rare joint appearance. Other guests include Armin Shimerman, Casey Biggs, Max Grodenchik, J.G. Hertzler, Vaughn Armstrong, Robert O’Reilly, Chase Masterson, and Gary Lockwood. O’Reilly and Hertzler will be appearing together, in costume, as Gowron and Martok. There will also be a a costume parade, parties, and a ‘Rat Pack’ show.
Tickets are no longer available online, but you can get them at the event. Sunday tickets are almost sold out so you should get there early. More information on the event at creationent.com/cal/stsan
Star Trek Online Meet and Greet in San Fran
The folks at Cryptic are holding a special Star Trek Online ‘meet and greet’ at Swig’s Bar from 7 p.m. PST to 9 p.m. PST on Saturday, January 23. The bar is located close to the convention. Fans who show up in Star Trek costume get a free drink, and there will be prizes. More info at startrekonline.com
Free Star Trek Comedy Show in NYC
The Star Trekkin improv comedy show is a lot of fun. This weekend they have a special free show that will be used for the taping of a documentary. The event is at The Tank on Saturday at 10PM.

The two “big” captains. So, Janeway, Sisko, and Archer are midgets? (Yes, I know what you’re saying. Wish I could attend.)
So creation is putting “twilight” aside? Not to mention where they got started? Great Shat @ stew? Its a good start in improving their lot. And I hope that they will continue to get it together. Their last Cons were overpricised and the content dissappointing. I hope this is the road back in Fan appriecition and fan input. Good Luck Creation.

i bought my tickets for vegas when i was their in 09 i bet stewert will be there they dont want to anounce it till after sf con or some people wouldnt attend it and wait for vegas just a thought this will be my 3rd year in vegas miss the hilton star trek experience
The Las Vegas ST CON website only has about 8 stars so far. It would be great if Sir Patrick is there but of they are charging $200.00 for a photo with Sir Patrick in San Fran, I can imagine what the price would be in Vegas.
They are only selling the Gold package ticket now, the Captains Chair will be availble in a few weeks. I hope that Trekcast have another Quarks/STTE reunion on the night before the CON in the SpaceQuest casino bar. That bar made more money that one night than at any other time. I guess Star Trek fansd do spend money, even if it is on booze. So I’ll have a Tranya please!
The Vegas CON is a lot of fun, at least you cna play that highly addictive Star Trek Slot machine. People love to get those Bonus rounds to win medals.
I live in the Bay Area (San Francisco) and would love to go to this show. I lost my job six months ago and have little $$$. All hail Obama for extending EDD benefits. I hate not working and will work for tickets for the show. If anyone wants to hire me . I have three years of Broadcasting in College. I work in the electronics field making sure computers are safe for us and are other devices and would like to thank Gene Roddenberry for helping in this field.
The great Patrick Stewart and William Shatner together on one stage should be FANATASTIC!!. They are very entertaining on stage by themselfs and haven’t had the pleasure to see both of them together. I hope someone professionally video tapes this. I could, I have a three camera set up and would do it just to make sure it is covered for history. I would like to have a multi camera set up cover one of these conventions. I’ve only seen one camera recording thus far. For those that are going have fun and report back here on the great Trek Movie Web Site. Anthony your site still rocks!!!!

Alas, at Creation Conventions, videotaping of the stars on stage is prohibited. :( Creation itself may videotape the event but rarely markets the video.
For those going to San Francisco in April –
John Cho (Sulu), Tony Todd (Kurn), and Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi) are scheduled to appear at WonderCon. And they will undoubtedly add more names as the date nears. Although it is a comic book convention, there’s usual plenty of science fiction stardom around at these events.
For those of us who don’t live in California – including myself – I guess we can go back to cursing Hollywood for never holding media events outside of their little clique of “favorite” cities. ;-)
