Delicious.

She hot in blue, too!

That’s cool I guess. She’s a good actress. Is she as good as everyone is saying though?

I am starting to really hate her… I hate going to the cinema and seeing another bloody trailer with her in. Sure, she’s an ok actress but not fantastic – thats what I first thought watching Star Trek and AVATAR.

#2 – So no…. she isn’t

@ #3 – That’s exactly what I’ve been saying for months!

Let’s let the style and grace part slide since that’s all opinion, but what exactly has she achieved? She’s been in tons of movies and to tons more movie premiers and events and that’s about all most of us know about her. I kind of really want to know what she’s done to deserve the award more than that she got it. Also, there’s nothing on the Women in Film organization or what the fund raiser was for.

I was actually interested in this article because the title said that she was named Face of the Future and I wanted to know what that meant. However, there’s only a vague one line quote about the award itself! There aren’t any details at all! Only pictures of her and the top one kind of looks like Jack Nicholson as the Joker in the 1989 Batman!

She’s blowing the right people

Face of the future? Eh…face of the next year or two. This kinda stuff never lasts and they’ll find a new face soon, and another after that.

More like W.I.L.F.! Zoe is a BEAUTIFUL creative human being! I love her!

Congrats Zoe! You deserve it!

haha best comments here.

hey she ist hot, a good actress, played in trek and accepting an award doesnt make her anything less.

be happy for her boys an girls, cause she is our new uhura !

To cite a once well known cartoon character:
“BOIOIOIOIOIIING!”

LOL Khaaan well-placed Beavis and Butthead reference (which by the way, Sir Partick Stewart once said in an interview, he thought was genius) that’d be a good gag in the next Trek film: a computer malfunction throws a Beavis and Butthead clip on the viewscreen kinda like happened with Dr. Evil in an Austin Powers film LOL

ADD-ON: i’d pay for that clip to be the one where, during them watching Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, Butthead explained to Beavis that a black hole was like a giant bunghole in space that ground everything into Hell LOL…

Geez people lighten the eff up! She got an award for being pretty and sexy, thats it,- it gets her in the papers and it gets that organization that gave her the award in the papers. Everybody wins. You people pissing and moaning asking why she deserves the award, oh like Miss America actually gets that whole world peace thing accomplished, what a bunch of cry babies.

Hummina, Hummina.

I’m no fan of hers, but let’s be honest – she’s not the face of MY future.

My future probably has warts and hairs on her chin.

There are some low class clowns visit this forum, no wonder they don’t want to put their real names to their opinions.

Hopefully at least one of those will be deleted.

@15

+1. The clowns appear in every article about Zoe. Maybe it’s just one lonely miserable person… Either way, they need to get a life.

For a second, I thought the podium read “WTF.” Really got to change those graphics in this day and age.

Zoe is certainly at a turning point, and it all looks good. I’m sure she’ll get a breakout non-“genre” film soon as well.

Today, when Lindsay Lohan gets the press for NOT acting, and being an idiot, it’s nice to see someone like Zoe get role model status.

The face of the future and the legs of ‘right here, right now, baby.’

OK, I’ll stop there.

Love ya, Zoe, but be careful of over-exposure. Especially when your last movie tanked. You’ve got to get some good product out there so all this glitter doesn’t dry up and blow away.

Best!

btw happy birthday to Zachary Quinto today!

I’m glad she’s getting work, too bad the role of Uhura wasn’t written very well, maybe they’ll develop it better for the next one.

She wasnt very exotic or intriguing, as the original character was, and deftly portrayed by Nichelle, there wasnt anything very special about JJ’s Uhura. At all.

Zoe was okay in Avatar, she’s an adequate actor, but she’s no Johnny Depp.

”Past recipients have been Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin, Maria Bello”.

Good actresses, but their careers have yet to warrant any official face status for any future I’ve seen.

Zoe’s nice. Blame the media for over-saturation. She’s just doing her job.

Anybody who can do Uhura as well as Nichelle Nichols is OK with me!

#5
not cool

#17- I agree!

I predict they will have to recast Uhura for the third sequel.

If Zoe continues this star path I’m sure her handlers/agents etc. will convince her she is too “big” to be in an ensemle cast where she is not near the top billed, or that Trek is now “beneath” her.

I’m glad I’m not the only one here who is getting a little tired of Saldana.

@25
If half the stuff she’s said about being honored to have the role is true, she’ll do Star Trek for a reduced fee. Or maybe she’ll do it for Screen Actor’s Guild minimum as a favor to JJ. Not without precedent (DeForrest Kelley in “Encounter at Farpoint” made his appearance as a favor to Roddenberry).

Oh Zoe you so fine, you so fine you blow my mind. Go Zoe and the best to you.

Girl knows how to work it, I’ll give her that!

*sigh* maybe someday women will be cease to be judged by their looks, or their weight, or the style of clothes they wear, or which designer shoes they have stuffed their poor beleaguered feet into or the perfection of their makeup, or their latest coif…

No that men don’t get judged that way too – but to a much lesser extent.

Great actress, she can play a multitude of roles and hasn’t been type casted. That’s great for an actor/actress to have!

You’re great Zoe, keep kicking ass and taking names!

The future looks might fine.

#5 you’re on the wrong forum.

You want TREKLONELY.com.

Seriously man, grow up!

Maybe if you were one of “the right people”, you’d pick a more mature name for yourself.

Get out of your foster mom’s basement & try to meet a girl.

As for you Zoe haters, you’re entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong it is, but give credit where it’s due:

Her performance in Avatar was entirely translated through a bunch of frat-boy animators like our sad friend #5 here & she still managed to stir emotion.

& as much as I love Nichelle Nichols, Zoe’s Uhura was much less two dimensional & more vibrant than ever before.

#29 – The thing is, most of the time its the women who are judging each other.

Think about, who reads fashion mags?

Who buys them?

Who supports the continued idealization of the female body image?

Who are the editors of all of the top fashion mags?

If you said “women”…you win!

It’s instinctive; human females are in constant competition to outdo each
other & many don’t even know why.

I’m no sexist; men are pathetic in their own ways too, but I’m sick of that whiny body-image garbage.

You do it to yourselves, deal with it.

Khan was framed! You are correct on all counts.

zoe deserves the accolades-shes great-in avatar she was the emotional/romantic center of the entire movie n she made it work–the fact that she is in so many movies-she is the “it” girl-her face n acting are memorable n making good impressions everywhere-she should enjoy it all while it lasts-congrats to her-and her uhura was better written than most of nichelles parts-she is a worthy successor-i also luv nichelle-

In the second picture, it looks like she had to pee really bad.

#33 “You do it to yourselves, deal with it.”

Ummm. Why so nasty? Did I SAY anything about MEN being the only ones who judge women?

No.

Because I fully realize we do it to ourselves – in some ways we are idiots. We shove our feet into shoes that wreck our bones and cause us pain. We stuff our bodies into clothes that look like trash because some one tells us it is fashionable. We starve ourselves to meet an ideal that is not even real, but is photoshopped perfection. We spend way too much money on cosmetics and promises of eternal youth. We worry about flabby arms and wrinkled elbows and grey hair and crows feet and all the signs of being ALIVE for Pete’s sake

But Why do we do it? I suspect some of that has to do with men, don’t you? When was the last time you looked at a picture of a short, myopic, less than slender girl in flip flops, sweats wearing minimal makeup and a sporting a pony tail and went on about how “delicious” she was?

Yeah. Though so.

“Her performance in Avatar was entirely translated through a bunch of frat-boy animators like our sad friend #5 here & she still managed to stir emotion.”

The only emotion she instilled in me was irritation, but I think that really had more to do with the movie as a whole.

“Zoe’s Uhura was much less two dimensional & more vibrant than ever before.”

That’s a total laugh. When I watch Nichelle Nichols in Mirror, Mirror, I’m in fear of my life. When I watch Zoe Saldana, I’m afraid that if I cough in the right direction I might bust one of her elbows by accident.

Again, it’s not her fault – it’s the material she has to work with.

Peace and long life, Zoe Saldana. \\//,
