It’s Captain Picard Day!

Not only is today John Cho’s birthday, but is also the future Captain Picard Day, a day celebrated on June 16th on board the USS Enterprise, under the command of Jean Luc Picard. How will you celebrate Captain Picard Day?

Captain Picard Day

The day celebrating Captain Picard was first seen in the 7th season Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Pegasus".

And apparently 47457.1 translates to June 16th, 2370. But there is no reason to wait for the 24th century to celebrate. In fact, There is a website dedicated to the day at picardday.wordpress.com where some fans have sent into their own artwork to celebrate the day.

How will you celebrate? Do you have your own Picard art? If so post a link below, maybe we will add it to the article.

May we suggest: Picard Dance Party. Get started with the “Picard Song” (via CoJux).

Here are some other sites celebrating Captain Picard Day: Geeks of Doom, Powet, Geeks are Sexy, Happy Catholic.

Happy Captain Picard Day everyone!

Returned from a weekend with Trek actors at the Philadelphia Wizard World Comic Con which included Captain Picard himself, Sir Patrick Stewart along with Avery Brooks, Brent Spiner, Walter Koenig, John DeLancie, Cirroc Lofton, and Keegan DeLancie. Here is a link to the photos of all the Trek stars at the event!

June 16th Is Bloomsday in Dublin, and technically the whole world.

As in Leopold Bloom from Ulysses by James Joyce.

But captain Picard is far more awesome!

Excellent!I wish I had known earlier today. I would have worked “make it so” or “tea, earl grey, hot” into conversations, or something like that.

Happy picard day everyone…….

I’ll be celebrating Picard day like I do every year. By ignoring it.

happy CP day! ;)

I need a t-shirt that says ‘I’m a role model!’

“I’ll be celebrating Picard day like I do every year. By ignoring it.”

Except this year because you obviously read the article and posted on it!

Talk about irony!

Anyway, I’d like to see IDW do a miniseries based on Captain Picard’s time on board the Stargazer.

I celebrated by frequently tugging on my shirt.

“Captain Picard day?….”

I’ll probably spend it thinking about how awesome Kirk is …

I’ll probably spend it thinking about how awesome Kirk is …dead.

O.O

That was a joke. :)

Happy Captain Picard day!

Dude those DeLancie shots are awesome. Q rules!!!

I think that was one of the funnier ideas of TNG, but far too short (as most of the funny ideas). Just a smile, one bigger laugh and then it’s over and not mentioned again in the episode.

But I liked it and the best thing to celebrate the Picard-day will be watching this episode tonight!

Happy Picard-day everyone!

HAPPY SIR PICARD DAY!!!!! Viv la france

Ah yes, thank you for reminding us of the great Pegasus birthday present for the fans, a Captain Picard Day!

(Now if we could just forget the barfolicious Pegasus Valentine present to the fans of Enterprise’s last episode!)

A cup of tea was had by all. Earl Grey. Hot.

Back to my gardening now… make it sow…

International Cover Your Belly Day … !

Picard Day is my favourite bit of the Pegasus episode. The picture of Picard standing proudly on top of the planet … and then the bit where he tells the Admiral that he’s a “role model”. Some of the funniest TNG ever.

I celebrated Capt picard day 1st a cup of earl grey tea hot. Then viewed “the pegueses ” then celebrated with my grandkids with a picnic @ barbaque. Swimming, we talked how each of us could better the world, and our selvies. John-Luc would approve. That finaly alone I toasted. Sir Patrick with a french import red wine to Happy Capt. Picard day! Hope all had an equaly Happy P. Day!

Good idea #8. I’d like a Stargazer comic too.

“And apparently 47457.1 translates to June 16th, 2370.”

Not necessarily, since the writers didn’t always adhere to that particular formula. The question is, what would be a reasonable Captain Picard Day? Probably not his birthday of July 13. The date he assumed command? An arbitrary date? It’s a question for Ron Moore, who wrote the script.

Score one for us bald guys

@22: He’s not the trope codifier for “Bald of Awesome” for nothing, you know… :D

Everybody hoist a mug of Earl Grey to mon capitaine!

Happy Captains Day Everyone!!!!
