Nimoy & Saldana Help Announce Yoostar 2 Movie Karaoke – Put Yourself Into Scenes From Star Trek & More

Have you ever wanted to put yourself into a scene from Star Trek? Well soon you will be able to do just that with the Yoostar 2 Movie Karaoke Machine for XBox 360 and Playstation 3. Today Yoostar unveiled their new product with the help of Leonard Nimoy and Zoe Saldana at E3. Details below.

Put yourself in Star Trek with Yoostar 2

Yoostar launched last year with a PC product that used a green screen to allow you to put yourself into scenes from a selection of movies. Today at the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles they announced Yoostar 2, which works using the Kinect gesture-based technology for Xbox 360 and PlayStation Move motion controllers. These allow green screen style effects without the use of a green screen. With Yoostar 2 players can perform in hundreds of famous movie scenes, record their performances, and share them with friends and family online. The game comes with 60 scenes, from Paramount, Universal, MGM, Lions Gate, Warner Bros., and CBS. And today Yoostar also announced their first content from the Star Trek franchise, with scenes from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: The Motion Picture to be included with Yoostar 2.

Once a scene is recorded, players can upload their performances to Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network or the PlayStation®Network, share the performances on social networks such as Facebook and Yoostar.com and view them on virtually all devices, including smart phones, PC’s and consoles. Players increase status through community participation, such as sharing, rating and commenting on others’ performances. Players’ performances are scored, allowing them to rise from "struggling actor" to "superstar", but the game also encourages improvised performances that draw on players’ creativity.

Yoostar 2 uses the cameras and motion capture from Kinect for Xbox 360 and PlayStation Move

Yoostar2 features multiple gameplay modes, including a "party mode" that allows a group of players to perform in quick succession and a progression mode where players face a series of challenges and unlock new scenes. Players can also purchase and download additional scenes from the Yoostar library during or apart from gameplay (no word yet on if additional Trek screens will be added online).

Yoostar will release more information about the game, including an official launch date, pricing and national retail distribution in the weeks to come.

I would have a “few” scenes I’d like to be a part of…perhaps with a green skinned female!!

First??

At last, Rand! And this time scratchin’ my face will only be the beginning!

SPOCK: The, er, impostor had some interesting qualities, wouldn’t you say, Yeoman?

RAND: Well, I guess you’d call it interesting that he locked me in my quarters for 3 days while dousing me with Tantric massage oil and lighting aroma therapy candles.

meheehehehehehehehehehehehe

Me in the turbolift with Original Spock.

I sure hope there are some TOS clips to jump into. Otherwise, I’ll have to sit this one out.

Cool will be a must

Can’t wait for Trek 2. KHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or the Doomsday Machine. But. I could be Assimalated by the BORG! Some fun stuff coming out. Youtube will be loaded with more mashups.

This had to happen. Oh my goodness. Why TMP?

thats pretty cool actually

Sweet another reason to get the Move for the PS3. Great game system and multimedia device.

This is going to be a lot of fun!!!

You know, this would be fun with anything we used it with – think of the possibilities… that thing in the newspaper where they replace random words with “pants” (Use the pants, Luke) just got a lot more amusing.

this must be how the holodeck started.

12: Definitely.
