The fan series Star Trek Phase II is currently in production on the special prequel episode "Origins". The new year always starts in the summer with the release of the Star Trek calendars, two of which come out next month from Pocket Books and Andrews McMeel Publishing. Today a new way to buy Star Trek T-shirts was launched online as custom apparel maker SwagDog rolled the beta version of their Star Trek shirt builder website. The new official licensee site allows fans to choose a design and then select various shirt styles, colors and sizes. More information below.
On June 6th the 2009 Star Trek movie will have its exclusive cable TV premiere on the EPIX channel. Star Trek vet Ronald Moore wrote sixty episodes during his tenure with the franchise, half of which were for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Moore went on to create the dark reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which he now says was born in the DS9 writers room.
