New York, NY – July 14, 2010 – Two-time Emmy(R) Award-winner William Shatner takes an in-depth look at what happens when people are tragically or infamously transformed from unknown citizens into household names overnight. Stories like those of Jessica Lynch, Bernhard Goetz and the DC Snipers put previously unknown names on the minds of every American, and Shatner intends to find out how the lives of all those directly affected by these cases have changed forever. "Aftermath with William Shatner" premieres Monday, August 2nd at 10PM ET/ 9PM CT/ 11PM PT on BIO(TM) featuring an up-close and personal interview with Bernhard Goetz as well as interviews with other instrumental people who were involved in his case.

"Aftermath" takes viewers back to the dramatic events that dominated the American news cycle as Shatner gains exclusive access to the newsmakers at the heart of each story – heroes, villains, perpetrators, victims, family members and law enforcement officials – to dig deep and separate the fact from the fiction. In each one-hour episode, new and often surprising information emerges, not only about the events themselves but about how people’s lives have changed in the years since they made headlines.

As Shatner puts it, he’ll "examine old wounds and see where the scar tissue lies." Shatner’s sharp intellect and probing questions will put a new spin on old stories while archival footage and reenactments help round out the storytelling to paint a clear picture of the events at hand. Stories will include some of the biggest national news subjects of the last two decades including Bernhard Goetz, Jessica Lynch, the DC Snipers, the Unabomber, Mary Kay Letourneau, and the Weaver Family of Ruby Ridge.

"Shatner’s Aftermath" is produced by GRB Entertainment. Executive Producers for GRB are Gary Benz, Michael Branton, Ted Haimes and William Shatner. Executive Producers for A&E are Robert Sharenow and Andy Berg.

1st? Whatever. anyways….this should be interesting. I have seen a few episodes of his raw nerve show, and have loved it. He is a good interviewer. Knows how to get deep without being a jerk. This looks like it will follow a similar format. I don’t imagine it will good so much as it will be interesting. I mean watching Shatner interview the DC snipers will be interesting….I’m not so sure it will be GOOOD like raw nerve was GOOD.

this is going to be good of course because its the SHAT acting as curious audience surrogate in these interesting stories

When does that man ever sleep??

From character actor to spaceship captain to beat cop to TV interviewer. That’s Shat: Mr. Versatile. And that’s showbiz: the art of continually reinventing yourself.

My first thought was ‘does the average person remember, much less care about any of these things?’ Could be interesting, but I don’t have cable so I won’t get to see it. Too bad he can’t do something for PBS.

Its Bill’s thirst for life that I find so staggering. Most people at his age are pushing up daisies or playing bingo!. Just incredible.

This looks like it would be a worthwhile show; if it’s half as good as Raw Nerve, it would be worth tuning in for.

yeh shat is a good interviewer and bio knows it–hes the busiest man on tv and at an older age too—-simply amazing-maybe he really des come to us from the future—hes a brain sucking alien like everyone at hulu.com

Love the Shat but (YAWN…. ) don’t overdo it man.

A&E This will be a step up from “Billy the Exterminator”.

The Shat always overdoes it . Remember the game show a did a few years back. Plus the American version of Iron Chef that was on for 5 minutes.

OMG I just watched the Bernie Getz show….Is this guy for real? I an a white woman, married to a white man…and I am pissed…this asshoie got away with short of murder……..He should have been brought up on some charges…the man is sick and still has no remorse….he shot 4 kids…HELLO no but he was white and got away with it and according tio this show the SOB still has no remorse and condones what he did….;..If my tv was cheap I would have thrown a vase at it… How can we all get along if this bullshit continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its because New Yorkers aren’t friendly. Somebody on the subway starts talking to someone, who then shoots him and his friends. People everywhere should try to get along.
