Watch Zoe Saldana in Funny or Die’s “Idiots”

Today Zoe Saldana proved that Zachary Quinto isn’t the only new Star Trek crewperson who can do the viral comedy video thing. Star Trek’s new Uhura co-stars along with Kate Bosworth in a new Funny or Die video titled "Idiots". Check it out below

Zoe is an idiot

New Funny or Die video with Zoe and Kate Bosworth as a couple of ‘idiots’ also features Janeane Garofolo and Greg Grunberg (who had a voice cameo in JJ Abrams Star Trek).

Thanks to Tara for the tip

It’s too bad Miss Zaldana isn’t as attractive as Miss Bosworth, but how about that miss Garofalo?

Very very cute. THIS shows off Zoe’s fun side much better than that fool GQ cover from the other day. Let’s see more of that, along with her kicking arse, in the next movie, PWEEEEEAZE!
Nicely done!

@1 Commander Crooner:

I used to think that Garofolo was cute. But now I can’t stand to look at her since most of the time she’s showing her true side as an elitist snob who can’t look down her nose at the rest of us enough! It may be unfair…. but these Hollyweird types need to realize that their opinions and attitudes can hurt them just as much as the rest of us! I shudder to think what my unfettered opinions would do to me at work if I were to openly offer them. We may be free to speak them, but it doesn’t protect us from the reprisals from others. In this case the consequence is that I don’t want to pay to see her preform.

1: ??????? too bad you have no taste in women. Zoe is spectacular.

Why would people waste their time making crap like this?

@ 3 Enterpisngguy

I don’t want to get yelled at by the the web administrator for talking politics but can we enjoy an artist’s creativity without the “I won’t see her perform” because of her views? I’m not a conservative but I won’t boycott Jon Voight’s movies because of his conservative views. Same for Jerry Bruckheimer films, Kelsey Grammer etc. By the way, Grammer’s “Frasier” is one my favorite sitcoms and has some funny Trekker jokes. Co-worker Noel is a Trekker.

Artists may have political views. Sometimes they are expressed off screen, sometimes they’re not. Gene Roddenberry used Star Trek to reflect some of his views. He had humanist views that certainly would upset religious conservatives. His views on the Vietnam War were expressed in “A Private Little War” and “The Omega Glory.”

But back to Zoe’s Funny or Die video, it’s cute. I got from it, a look at how we admire shallow beauty over brains. In a similar vein, check out this Funny or Die video with Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, currently starring in “Inception.”. It’s about a man’s tendency to look at a woman’s chest and the French product that stops it. Hillarious.

I liked it, It’s funny!!!

With freedom comes responsibility–an idea that most people on both sides of the political isle seem to forget.

Moreover, the new dogma of both the Libs and the Cons is disturbing, with no room for compromise. These people on either side of the political fence must accept the possibility that some of their ideas may be wrong.

Because you can always guarantee they probably are.

You are very wise, Spock’s Brain. I agree 100%!

OMG does no one get this? “Pretty People” can be dumb as a sack of rocks and have zero substance, and the opposite sex will bask in awe of their beauty and dismiss their total lack of substance. When your sexually attracted to someone, that is all you see. This is funny because its true.

ummmm…..i dont get it…… where’s my toys?? i want a scooby doo sticker… waaaaaaaaaaaa…..

:-)

I understand where you are coming from. But I have no problem with anyone’s views. I simply don’t like her on a personal level for the nasty way she expresses her views. To compare her to Jon Voight is unfair. She actually accused anyone who didn’t vote for Obama of being a racist. I don’t recall Mr. Voight doing anything that rises to that level of hate. So that’s why I prefer not to watch her anymore than I would socialize with an obnoxious person who may happen to be brilliant. I’m sorry if it seemed like I was getting political. It was not my intent

I truly believe Saldana diminished her image and reputation by appearing in such a stupid video with that skank Bosworth. Saldana’s career is going through the roof while Bosworth is finished in Hollywood.

Bosworth almost single-handedly brought down the Superman franchise! ‘Course Superman Returns having one of the worst storylines known to man didn’t help either!

Harry’s just trying to knock down Kate Bosworth so he can promote his girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon.

(Who’s got yer back, Harry? I do.)

Gee, CmdrR, with friends like you…….yeah, sure, I’m knocking a skank so she can be replaced by a battering ram? Don’t think so!

@13

I think that when Superman’s kid flung the piano he hit the wrong person! That movie stunk on ice!

@3 Enterprisingguy

Did you even watch the video. Or did you just fail to understand?

I liked it. Thought it was funny.

*Stinky* pee pee.

Harry,

Which Lois Lane do you hate more, Erica Durance or Kate Bosworth?

For me, I cannot go with Erica Durance since I’ve ignored “Smallville” from the beginning. So I’ll have to say Kate Bosworth. Total dud she was.
Doesn’t have any talent.

As for Reese Witherspoon, she was great as June Carter Cash in “Walk The Line”.

20

Ryan, I hate Durance more by a wide margin. At least Bosworth tries to be “in” the scene.

EG, I just looked for your statement that Janeane Garofalo said, “If you didn’t vote for Obama, you’re a racist.” I checked Wikipedia, a Fox News transcript of a Garofalo interview and a conservative blogger. I could not find it. I did find that she has taken a large brush and painted Tea Party activists as racist, which I agree is not right. I can see where she’s coming from but not all people in the Tea Party are racists. She certainly should make a distinction here.

But to bring this back to Star Trek and political views of actors, and you may not like this. But Zachery Qunito (Spock) supported Obama.. On Star Trek and the 2008 presidential election, “This is a franchise (Star Trek) that offers hope for unity – and so does Barack Obama.” Entertainment Weekly, 10-24-2008, pg. 32.

Harry, you’re a little hard on Kate Bosworth. We know she reads what we Trekkers write on this blog. Maybe you could help her and suggest her for the role of Carol Marcus, Ruth (“Shore Leave”), or since you think she’s a skank, slave girl Drusilla (“Bread and Circuses’). Geez, you know how hard it is to name all the women Kirk made out with? Kate don’t listnen to these guys. Because Kate, I’m available tonight for dinner at the local McDonalds. Dutch, of course.

Kate Bosworth was at least 10 years too young for the part of Lois Lane! Maybe the studio was casting young in anticipation of a long run of the franchise. Doesn’t matter. She was totally wrong for the part.

Come on, guys. Why all the Kate bashing? I’ve met her before and she’s actually really nice. And smart. I’m afraid the blonde stereotype is working against her in this case. Am I the only one who thinks Superman Returns didn’t completely suck? I think that if given the right part she would shine. Don’t listen to the haters, Kate! Oh and btw I’m a straight girl, not a guy who thinks she’s hot.

#24 Kate and Erica (both Lois’s) are very hot. Kate was a victom of the worst script ever written with a budget that large. Erica is a victom of one lone blogger who has taken it upon himself to ruin an actress’s career.

Oh boy, politics!

Based on my visit to all of ONE Tea Party event, I have this observation: 99.9% of the people who attended were normal and were in fact concerned voters. The organizers, however, were Fox News morons, inventing paranoia like it was going outta style. The Tea Party is a Fox creation. The NEED for good government is an ongoing current that runs through American life.

On it goes.

Tha’ curse o’ bein’ Lois Lane… It brings madness, it does! Can tha’ castin’ blokes e’er find a decent Lois? Madness!

Like when ye’ drink that funny tastin’ Earl Grey at a Tea Party rally… Found meself wantin’ a moose ta’ run tha’ nation…

Superman Returns, in me opinion, wuz’ no worse than Superman 2… Oh, dunna’ get me wrong… little Dickie Donner’s first “Superman” wuz’ a grand film… but I wuz’ confused and frightened by Superman 2… So, Superman Returns wuz’ just… uhhhhhhhh… that costume Brandon Wrath wore looked like he took it froms me cousin’s closet in San Fransisco’… so very…. uhhhhhh… OK, I wore it once meself… I liked tha’ plastic ass… I mean “S!”

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…

25

Lore, oh. c’mon now….just because I state that I think Erica Durance stinks as an actor, doesn’t mean it’s going to have any impact whatsoever on her career. I only wish it could!

Funny video.

Kate and Zoe are *both* very pretty.

Superman Returns is criminally underrated.

:P

Superman Returns is crap, and Miss Bosworth got fake boobies!

Superman Returns was nicely filmed, had good actors (overall) and enjoyed superb special effects, BUT….the story was lame! Luthor wanting to claim “real estate” once again?? YAWN!!!!!

Bryan Singer should be shot for agreeing to relaunching the franchise with such a lame attempt!

Brandon Routh, as an actor, donning the “tights” was superb! Not an easy role to pull off and he did a great job of it! Bring HIM back!

I enjoyed “Superman Returns” the first few times I watched it, but then a number of things really started bothering me that caused me to end up disliking the film. First was Kate Bosworth. Terrible actress, and clearly not right for anything, let alone Lois Lane. Second, Kevin Spacey. He’s a great actor, but his Lex Luthor was boring. Gene Hackman’s character was more fun. Third, the visual effects. After awhile, the cgi became dated.

Overall, the film played it too safe by adhering strictly to the formula of Richard Donner’s “Superman” film(s).

“Bryan Singer should be shot for agreeing to relaunching the franchise with such a lame attempt!”

He should be shot…out of a cannon! So we can see how well he can or can’t fly! It’ll teach the guy a lesson!

I agree with you about Brandon Routh. But it seems they are going to go in a different direction.

Ryan, you and I are on the same page! Kudos!

Bryan Singer is overrated in my opinion. The first “X-Men” was good, the second not so much (despite the fact that it is widely considered one of the greatest sequels ever made) and the tepid “Superman Returns”.

“Ryan, you and I are on the same page! Kudos!”

Yes we are! In two ways, first we agree on “Superman Returns” and secondly, obviously, we both posted on the same thread (or page, if you will).

Okay, I can’t get the video to come up, so I have no comment on whether or not it’s funny. But a couple of points, and apologies in advance for any political-tinged remarks:

1) Superman Returns was, indeed, a bad movie. It seemed all the time as though they threw the hospital scenes in there to pad the run time, because it certainly didn’t seem to figure into the plot. Granted, it may have been made necessary by Luthor stabbing Supes, but it still seemed pasted on at the last minute.

2) Bosworth was not a good choice for Lois Lane. Period.

3) The whole “kid” thing was not necessary (and I note it was nowhere as prominent in the novelization).

4) Janeane Garofolo is a racist hater, and you may notice that Google has been “sanitizing” its search results to remove anything critical of the Obama administration (go to Bing or Yahoo to see what I mean). There are also numerous examples of her vile vitriol on NewsBusters.org, if you care to view. (My opinion only.) Do a search for her on that site and you’ll see many televised examples (most of them from the Joy Behar show on HLN). She was the main reason why I couldn’t bring myself to watch “24” for its final season.

5) The TEA party (“Taxed Enough Already”) is not a true “party” but more of a “movement” (much like the “peace movement” of the late 1960s), and I agree there are elements of the conservative movement that are trying to co-opt it for its own purposes (I really don’t think Glenn Beck “reporting” live from a TEA party rally in San Antonio was appropriate, for example). However, the people who are a part of this movement all seem to believe in one thing – limited government. This means going back to the Constitution (one of the documents on which the Articles of Federation [2161] were based on), reducing Government spending, letting the States do what they’re allowed to do by the Constitution, and allowing individuals the freedom under the law to pursue their lives. I consider myself a political conservative, and I don’t agree with many who claim to be TEA party members but run further to the right. However, the basic premise (as Spock would say) is sound, and I think this is the way the nation needs to go in order to survive as a nation. (Again, my opinion only.)

Again, the opinions expressed above are mine and mine alone, and you are not expected to agree with them in any way, shape, or form. But thanks to the First Amendment, you can do so without worry, and I can express them in the same manner. Live long and prosper.

@MSN1701
Absoluteley not! I thought it was a good/entertaining movie,
* Routh was good as superman = a bit boring, but still good. The goofy side of Clark kent was Fantastic in this movie, laughed my ass off several times during the movie
* Good casting
* Good effects
* Inovative story
* Good love story
* The suit modification was needed, and the suit is much more believable in my opinion, if he would drop deown beside me in the old suit i would be like: Dude! Honestly!?
