Burton judges on Face Off

Tonight Star Trek: TNG’s LeVar Burton will be a judge on Face Off, Syfy’s competition/elimination series which explores the world of special-effects make-up artists. Burton will join judges well known in the SFX world — three-time Academy Award winner Ve Neill, famed special make-up effects artist Glenn Hetrick and director/creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos.

In tonight’s episode ("Alien Interpreters"), the contestants learn that for their Spotlight Challenge they will be working with a client, none other than creature designer, director and series judge, Patrick Tatopoulos. Each of the artists must select one of Patrick’s sketches to serve as the inspiration for an original alien creation. On the Face Off reveal stage, the contestants are elated to see guest judge Burton but quickly grow concerned when they learn that two artists will be sent packing this week.

Here are a couple of preview clips:

Face Off airs on Syfy at 10 PM.

Wow…no news from the Star Trek camp huh?

A new thread about the movie??!! Oh, wait………

No news about Kai Wynn and Damar both being guests on Showtimes’ Shameless this season?

Bitch, bitch, bitch… yep. I’m on a Trek site’s message board.

When I glanced at the above picture of Levar my first reaction was that Geordie had radically changed career paths and switched to Starfleet medical.

Good to see LeVar’s career taking off at last. A shame he bothered with all that Roots nonsense. He’s taken a long time to bounce back from that.

Mongo think Buzz Cagney mans funny.

7 – Kunta said it better myself.

CmdrR mans! Mongo say hi. Mongo say CmdrR mans funny too!

8. That was funny.

Y’know, I was bummed when they made Jeordi the engineer. I always thought it was funny that a blind guy was driving the Enterprise.
