Zoe Saldana On Maxim Hot 100 List (Again)

Another member of the Star Trek cast is being honored for their body of work. This time it is the new Uhura who has (once again) made it on to the Maxim Hot 100 list. Zoe is also the cover feature for Cosmo’s brand new magazine, Cosmopolitan For Latinas. See pictures from that below, plus a behind the scenes video. We also take a look at Alice Eve, another Star Trek star that Maxim seems to have forgotten this year.

Saldana on Maxim List For 3rd Year In A Row

The new Maxim Hot 100 is out with their definitive list of the world’s most beautiful women. For the third year in a row, Star Trek’s Zoe Saldana has made the list. While she has never done a photoshoot for Maxim, she still ranks with the mag, garnering the #45 spot (a drop of 8 since 2011). This year Maxim ranked Isreali model Bar Refaeli as #1 hottest woman in the world, see full list at Maxim (btw, Stephen Colbert got himself voted #69!).

Speaking of magazines, Zoe (who is of Dominican and Puerto Rican background) is also the cover girl for the premiere issue of the new Cosmopolitan for Latinas Magazine. Here are photos from the mag.

She is adorable!

Well, congrats, Zoe. I don’t see it, but to each his own.

But, why is she on the cover of “Cosmo for Latinas”?? She’s not Latina, am I right?

So yummy :) grats zoe

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Go Zoe!!! :-)

@#2

I was confused about that too. I think somewhere she said she was black, but she is also latina and speaks Spanish as Anthony mentioned.

Many Dominicans are of black descent. They were brought there as slaves, when slavery was still done. Zoe is also of black descent.

sooooooooooo hot!

I love her. <3

Oh, the injustice. Alice Eve didn’t make the list. But don’t weep too much fellow Trekkers Star Trek’s de facto satirist Stephen Colbert was um,… 69. Unfortunately, he’s off this week so he can’t do a comic piece on it.

Stephen, might I suggest that Alice Eve be a guest on your show.. Oh, and could you give an interview to TrekMovie.Con out of character. In exchange, we Trekkers will find a way to like Jar Jar Binks of Star Wars: Phantom Menace.

Alice Eve should make the list. So should Brooklyn Decker.

To each their own, but Zoe Saldana on the Maxim list? Uh……no.

@#9 another spock/uhura fan

Another one! Oh, dear kindred, where have you been?

Welcome. :-)

She’s a bit thin for me, but I think she’s lovely.

Yay Zoe!!

Watch Zoe and Kate Bosworth act like 2-year olds (also with JJ-buddy and ‘Hero’ Greg Grunberg and Jeanine Garafolo).

I think zoe is naturally prettier than alice but alice has a better body.

Zoe is just too skinny.

the pressure of hollywood that women must be thin is sickening.

It will have been better is Zoe’s body type was closer to Nichelle Nichols Uhura from the orignal series.

16. boy “the pressure of hollywood that women must be thin is sickening”

Funny, Alice Eve doesn’t seem to have that problem. She got cast looking just fine!

Alice is not really a big name yet unlike Zoe.

Zoe is the Leading female to the biggest movie is history(Avatar) and is probably right now the most popular black/Latino female actress in the world.

So yes she is probably pressured to look her best and we all know looking your best in hollywood is been a thin size zero.

boy, I have no issue with any of this, I just like a bit more “curve’ on my ladies.

If someone wants to remake “Bewitched” the right way…. Alice Eve is spot on perfect for Samantha. Sounds like a project for K/O Paper Products! I think Boborci would make a good Darrin, yanno?
.
Zoe’s great, but I too prefer Alice.

Zoe has a different build from Alice Eve.

As a matter of fact, apparently British women of Caucasian heritage have, on average, the largest breasts among women of similar heritage. I heard this on a British TV series with presenter and fashion stylist, Gok Wan. It certainly helps explain Alice Eve’s ample proportions.

Learn something every day…:)

Oh well, Zoe deserved her spot… but that list looks like a pile of bs… seriously: They voted Nicki Minaj in? Kristen Stewart is ranked higher than Scarlett Johansson and Emma Watson? And Mila Kunis is kinda overrated… I don’t understand some peoples’ taste in women…

@21 Does this “Caucasian Britishness” extend to women in N.Z.? :)

@22 After her turn in The Avengers, Scarlett should advance to #1. Meow.

She is on my top ten list. Stunning girl.

#2: Yep, she’s a Latina.

She is not hot. She needs to learn how to eat, she looks like she has an eating disorder on screen, and film always adds weight to your appearance, so she’s probably dangerously thin. Gross.

Lots of Trek news lately! Good stuff!

Zoe is not just an actress; she’s also a dancer with a dancer’s body. She’s fit. Her body type is not going to carry all the extra curves that Alice Eve’s does (which, by the way, is also fit and healthy). Each woman has been given a different body and has made the most of it by staying fit and choosing complimentary clothes, hairstyles, and what-have-you to enhance her natural beauty. Even better, in interviews Zoe and Alice come off as nice, intelligent, and professional.

Both are beautiful through and through — and you don’t need some dumb magazine “let’s-sell-more-copies” ranking mechanism to see that.

Someone order her a burger, please.

PS:
Oh and by the way:
Zooey Deschanel only #41 ??? – WTF?

Sexy space lady.

26 an 29, you can be very thin and very healthy. Please do some research into nutrition and get your cholesterol checked.

I think she is EXQUISITE.
and @ 30 yeah Zoey Deschanel only 41?
What up with that

My dog’s name is Zoe.

32: I agree. People say I’m too thin and yet my BMI is 23, two points less than the overweight range. Technically, my BMI is considered healthy, but too many people (especially my family) think I need to eat more.

I’m sure Zoe Saldana’s BMI is also in the healthy zone, which is 18.5 to 24.9. IMDB lists her height as 5’7″. So, for her to be too thin with a BMI of 18.4, she’d have to weigh less than 110 pounds.

Tooooo skinny…. She does nout for me.

Give me Nichelle Nichols any day..

Zoe is THE Trek Girl

Why do people feel the need to state that they’re not into Saldana or that they don’t think she should be on a hot 100 list? She’s on it — it doesn’t have a lot to do with you.

@ 2. richpit

“But, why is she on the cover of “Cosmo for Latinas”?? She’s not Latina, am I right?”

Zoe is black, and her language/culture is Latina. Latina is not a race. Quote from Zoe:

“When I go to the D.R., the press in Santo Domingo always asks, “¿Qué te consideras, dominicana o americana?” (What do you consider yourself, Dominican or American?) I don’t understand it, and it’s the same people asking the same question. So I say, time and time again, “Yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”) [They go,] “Oh, no, tú eres trigueñita.” (“Oh no, you are ‘dark skinned'”) I’m like, “No! Let’s get it straight, yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”)”.

Because this site is for expressing opinions. Folks have the right to agree/disagree over any given topic, including Zoe Saldana being on the Maxim Hot 100 list.

Don’t give me nonsense about rights, Ryan

Yay for Zoe! I love her and more than just because she’s physically beautiful. She appears to be a warm, smart, humorous and confident. For me it takes more than just the physical to make a person beautiful.

37: Because we’re allowed to have opinions and the purpose of a forum is to be able to voice them.

Thanks for the Zoe details, guys. I was honestly not knowledgeable about her ethnic background.

Now I know.

#37: So in other words, you have no idea what a DISCUSSION board is for. Got it.

I can only speak for myself, but I think I know where Jack might be coming from. It’s to do with many people feeling the need to express negativity about someone, rather than simply well wishing or not saying anything at all. It’s true – complaining that Zoe shouldn’t be on the Maxim Hot 100 list won’t change anything, but it could perhaps leave a bitter after-taste for anyone else reading the comments on this thread.

There seems to be a compulsion among some people to slag off actors/celebrities, with no apparent reason at times. I guess it is because they can on the Internet. It is not just the actor or celebrity that some people go for. It can be a girlfriend also, eg Chris Pine’s girlfriend, Dominique Piek. Nasty stuff has been written about her/to her. Her *crime*, it seems, is to appear with Chris Pine as his guest on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.

Sorry – but I just don’t get this sort of thing and it is not just because it has something to do with Chris Pine either.

She was the worst part of the new movie.

@45 People have been negative about rich/famous/infamous for the longest time. Roman citizen drew crude graffitti involving their rulers and all that. The internet and discussion forums just lets some people be meaner faster.

I don’t agree with everything that is said, but I’m not going to argue about it. As for Chris Pine’s girlfriend, I’m sure she has more sense than to go to forums and listen to the inane rantings of unhappy fangirls/boys. After all, she’s dating Chris Pine, she’s got better things to do. :-)

#40.

Look, we don’t need you telling us what we can or cannot say. You’re not the “thought police”. We don’t need your approval. Stop with the “holier-than-thou” condescention.

Sheesh!

Who told you what you can’t say? I didn’t. I just don’t get it. Keep saying it, sure. Why do we need to voice that we don’t find a woman attractive? Say what you want, I’m not telling anyone to not to talk. Nor would I.

I get having opinions about Trek, talk about the work, but, come on.

And anytime there’s disagreement – words like rights and the thought police start being trotted around.

#49.

“Who told you what you can’t say? I didn’t”.

No you didn’t, but you sure did go out of your way to condemn everybody for stating their opinions.

“Why do people feel the need to state that they’re not into Saldana or that they don’t think she should be on a hot 100 list? She’s on it — it doesn’t have a lot to do with you.”

Basically what you’re saying is, the list is done, and any criticism should NOT be allowed. Simply because you say we had no input into the compilation of the list. Ridiculous.

Look, it’s only natural that some people might disagree with how high or low in the Hot 100 list Zoe Saldana fits. Some people find her attractive, others don’t. It’s the way it is. It’s fair game. The people at Maxim were judging women based on their appearances, why aren’t you condemning them? Because I’m sure there are plenty of actresses who deserved to be on the list just as much as Zoe and all the others are.

Zoe’s right arm on that Cosmopolitan cover, she looks anorexic. That is NOT attractive.
