Sweet! First to say glad to hear it’s one day earlier!?

Well, this bodes well for box office returns!

gonna see it tommorow.

greetings from germany. :)

stephan

I don’t understand this announcement, since I already have 3D IMAX tickets for Wednesday the 15th, which is one day BEFORE this.

Oh, wait, never mind–I just read the opening sentence. LOL

Well I’m seeing it tomorrow night! Lol

Fantastic news!

1 day to go
:-)

Great news, the waiting is almost over :)

@3. Stephan
lucky you, tell us what you thought of the movie tomorrow but no spoilers please.

tomorrow i’m going Into Darkness!:-)

Opens in 27 hours here in London, England cannot wait!

The 16th!?!? pffffffft. …… I’ll have seen it about 4 times by then …

1 Day to go …..

oh right its may now not april, funny how time flies when your having fun.

Sad sad sad Dutchman over here.. I have to wait untill the 6th of June before I can go to the IMAX theatre in Amsterdam :-(

Good for you guys in the states…still:
T-1 Day until I Star Trek into darkness :)
Greetings from Germany

I’m seeing it on Wed the 15th and 16th and 17th

And I’ll have to wait ’till August to see it… :(

The worst part is that I still don’t understand why that is, the last movie was released here in Argentina a few days before it was released in the US.

So does the movie open Thursday at midnight? Thursday at 8pm?

I need to know what day to take off from work…

Cool, I guess. I’ll still be seeing it on Saturday, though.

Whatevs, I can’t see until the 24th. I know, pity me. But I promise I’ll see it multiple times.

Opens here in exactly 15 hours…

Trend?:

“This could be the moment when the American media finally gets serious about international box office. It’s very possible that in the next two weeks, the Iron Man Three international gross will pass the previous best worldwide gross for an Iron Man film. It is distinctly possible that Iron Man Three will be a $350m domestic movie… and do double that internationally.” – David Poland

Also, KTLA/CW/Tribune Station Entertainment reporter Sam Rubin saw STID and loved it. Said he can’t say anything because of the embargo but describes the action as wonderfully building up to a key sequence that he has to cryptically refer to as “The Luge.”

I think they planned to do this well in advance. I actually got tickets to a showing on the 16th weeks ago, but I only found a single showing. Now everyone will be able to see it on the 16th!

21 h to go :p

Thursday 9th may 8.30pm. Into darkness at last. has it really been 4 years??
Hope we don’t have to wait this long again. omg!! please nooooooo. I Kaaaahhhhnt stand it any longer

Have to believe the uptick to 16 May bodes *really* well for how STID is tracking internally within Paramount particularly in terms of its overseas performance.

Its so awesome to hear Trek achieve such great blockbuster status!!!

Can’t wait until next Friday!

But I have plans to see the premiere on the 16th at midnight, technically the 17th. What does that mean?!?!?!?!? Because I can’t go on the 15h technically 16th at midnight!!!

You’d be pretty peeved if you’d bought ‘opening night’ tickets for it to no longer be opening night!!

This confuses me. I’m in Canada and I bought my tickets the day they went on sale for the show on the 16th. Soon after that (within the next two days), I discovered tickets were being sold for the 15th, a day earlier. And now they’re saying they’ve moved the released day a day “forward” to the 16th? when is this movie coming out???

Iron Man 3 was released on Thursday night at 9:00 PM. Will STID by at shown after midnight on Wednesday night?

Whatever people or organizations are responsible for the viral marketing campaign for STID are absolute geniuses! With all the planned activities and promos, they must not be getting much sleep right now. Congrats, marketing gurus!

IMAX 3D fan peek was scheduled for 5/15. Still is. General release (2D, etc.) was sceduled for 5/17. Now that’s been moved up one day to 5/16. Not that tough to comprehend.

I have taken Thurs and Fri off work and have 3 viewings booked for Thursday (once in 3D, twice in 2D), and 2 viewings booked for Friday (both 2D), and IMAX on Sunday!

LLAP

34. Movietickets.com apparently hasn’t gotten the memo. Their site still lists STID as opening on 5/17.

Son of a…. well, I already bought my tickets for May 17th. Still stoked!!!

Glad to see that the movie is selling out! Also, glad I got my tickets already for the 15th!

All those of you getting to see the movie tomorrow, I hope you thoroughly enjoy it! Can’t wait!

Awesome!!! I’m buying my ticket right now!!!

Awesome! But, i already have IMAX 3D tickets for Wednesday!!! :)

I think they want to make as much money as they can because the week after is Fast & Furious 6 and the Hangover III! It will do well but might make a significant drop after.

Can we exchange our tickets for the earlier day?

I am seeing it on the 15th. The theatre is also showing Star Trek before it.

Good grief … sure glad I have “preview” ticket for 15 May.

Wish I lived in NZ or OZ or Britain [for a myriad of reasons, but this is only one]!

Enjoy the show, y’all Kiwis and Ozzies and Brits … and hold whatever spoilers are left for a week if you can stand to ;)

I still haven’t figured out WTF Paramount was thinking to release on various dates … reviews always come out a week in advance no matter where, so I should think folks in other countries would be eager to see the film at the same time we in the US see it ….

@ 42

It’s all about global markets. The bigger the audience, the better the return. By opening early in these markets, word of mouth helps build it in North America.

Just look at Iron Man 3 – 300+ million before it opened here.

I feel sorry for the Americans. It doesn’t seem fair that you guys have to wait, particularly since Star Trek was created in your country in the first place.

Well, the apped anticipation and spoiler dodging should make it all the more enjoyable of the 15th, right?

I feel bad for anybody who had already bought tickets for the 17th now.

Less than a day to go, and I’m gonna see it in the BIGGEST IMAX screen on the planet in Sydney Australia
Woohoooo!!! Can’t believe it’s been 4yrs…now I can’t wait for Trek 3 in time for the 50th anniversary of Star Trek in 2016. What can Paramount do to top Disney stealing JJ Abrams (effectively implying that trek was a mere audition)? Get Spielberg to direct. Wishful thinking I know, but let’s flashback to the dark ages of 2002-2005 – Nemesis tanks both critically and commercially to give the great next gen crew an unceremonious exit, and Enterprise becomes the first Trek series to be cancelled since 1969. Flash forward to now and Trek is back better than ever permeating everything. Who would have thought that when the Braga-Berman Empire drove Trek into such an abyss that it was on the verge of being a mere footnote in pop culture history. Just goes to show how enduring the themes and ideals of Trek are.

I’l be watching it in about 6 hours.

I dusted off my Mr Spock earr just an hour ago.

Exciting times.

Anyone in the toronto area please note that stid will be available in 2d and 3d despite Cineplex app saying otherwise. It is an error. I have confirmed with Cineplex that 2d is available and I also got tickets but had to go to a theatre to get them. Their website is updated to reflect 2d availability but the mobile app has not.

This actually sucks for me since I work 2nd shift and had already taken a vacation day for the 16th to see the midnight showing on the 17th. Now I will be unable to see a midnight showing since it has been moved up a day since I will still be working my Wednesday shift at 12am. I guess I will just have to see it later in the day on the 16th and since I will not be working that day, I will just have to make a day of it. Maybe see it in 2D and 3D both that day!?

Gonna see it tomorrow too in Germany :-)
But I don’t get it WHY it doesn’t start worldwide the same day?
That’s not fair to the American fans.
