Star Trek Prelude to Axanar Now Online + Vegas Screening + Kickstarter Update

Star Trek Prelude to Axanar, the 20 minute preview to the full fan film Star Trek Axanar, debuted on the big screen during a red carpet event last weekend during San Diego Comic-Con. Today, the short film is available for all to watch streaming online and serves as the Kickstarter video for the recently launched new fundraising campaign to raise money for the full-length 90 minute feature film Axanar (which has already met its first goal). Ron Moore Talks Past & Future Star Trek, Space 1999 Reboot, I Robot 2, Outlander & more in Reddit AMA [UPDATED]

Earlier today writer/producer Ronald D. Moore participated in a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" to promote his upcoming time-travel in Scotland show "Outlander" (premiering on Starz August 9th). While there he answered a number of questions about his time working on Star Trek as well as his thoughts on the future of the franchise (and his possible participation in that future). Last week TrekMovie reported on the new Kickstarter campaign for Free Enterprise: The Television Series a TV prequel to the 1999 Star Trek-themed cult comedy Free Enterprise. Over the weekend the producers showed a new Kickstarter pitch trailer at Comic-Con and that is now online. They have also introduced a new rare ‘Bomber Bill’ figure as one of the back rewards. Deluxe Soundtrack For Star Trek Into Darkness Released + Giacchino Contrasts ST09 & STID Scores

Composer Michael Giacchino is headed to Philadelphia this week to perform the score for Star Trek Into Darkness with a screening of the film. He is also talking about why that score is ‘darker’ than his score for 2009′ Star Trek. In addition Varèse Sarabande has just released a Deluxe Edition of the Into Darkness score.
