With the 50th anniversary of Star Trek finally here, we thought we’d show you some of the more interesting anniversary products you can pick up to commemorate the event. The third and final day of Mission: New York was launched by the Voyager cast with their longtime producer Brannon Braga and was closed out in style by William Shatner and Walter Koenig.
The second day of Mission: New York kicked off on the main stage with a reunion of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast including LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis. Kelvin Timeline-stars Peter Weller and Bruce Greenwood The most-anticipated panel of the convention was on Star Trek: Discovery with series consulting producer and writer Nicholas Meyer along with writer Kirsten Beyer. Beyer revealed that DSC would be a cross-media production involving television, novels, and comics.
During today’s Mission: New York panel about Star Trek: Discovery, writer Kirsten Beyer revealed that the series will have a very strong cross-media element.
The first day of Mission: New York kicked off on the main stage with a wonderful Deep Space Nine cast reunion. The boys of Enterprise had the crowd bursting with laughter over their antics and stories from the set. However, the highlight of the day was a short question and answer session with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan writer/director Nicholas Meyer, who shared stories of the film’s production before debuting his director’s cut in 4K UHD.

CBS Home Entertainment has released the full details of the much anticipated The Roddenberry Vault on Blu-ray. We first found out about the existence of this exciting 3-disc collection at the San Diego Comic Con. The set is due out on December 13. CBS has shared two video clips from the Vault set, along with the full press release. Read on for the details.
Vocal minorities tend to lead perception. It’s not necessarily because they are right, but because they are loud, consistent in message and sometimes the only mouthpiece. Lately however, that vox populi has taken its gripes and issues to an entirely new level; one that ridicules, mocks and bullies creators online, as well as posting critical and negative comments to anything and everything covering something that supposedly brings these fans great joy. All of these behaviors can easily be attached to countless fandoms currently occupying the zeitgeist, yet sadly it seems to have taken a firm hold on Star Trek, which is disappointing considering what the franchise represents.
