GIVEAWAY – Star Trek Online Releases “Reckoning” Expansion + Win An Elachi Ornash Battlecruiser

Star Trek Online celebrates its 7th Anniversary in style with an expansion pack that includes new missions, new ships, and the visualization of a race that was discussed but never shown on screen.

To celebrate the launch of Star Trek Online: Season 12 – Reckoning, TrekMovie is teaming up with Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios to give 5 lucky winners a Tier 6 Elachi Ornash Battlecruiser. Read on for details on the new expansion and learn how you can win.

The new story arc, dubbed “Reckoning”, will feature a new Lukari ship that the fans help design and will also be the STO debut of actor Tony Todd, who will be playing the role of General Rodek. Fans, of course, know him as Worf’s brother Kurn on TNG.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of this is expansion is the debut of the Tzenkethi, a race the Federation has warred with in the past and were mentioned in a few episodes of DS9 but never shown on screen. Game developer Cryptic Studios based their designs for them on descriptions from Robert Hewitt Wolfe, who co-wrote all the episodes the Tzenkethi were featured in and has described them as “heavily-armored lizard things”.  Cryptic is clearly setting them up to be a major foe for armchair captains to overcome.

“Reckoning” is available now for the PC, with the console versions arriving at a later date.

More information from the press release:

Season 12 puts out a desperate call to captains across the galaxy to battle the powerful Tzenkethi, a highly-intelligent, militant warp-capable species. The mission begins when the Lukari set out on a journey to investigate some unusual activity in an unexplored region of the Alpha Quadrant. Upon further inspection, they discover data that suggests weaponized use of protomatter and request immediate assistance from the Alliance. Captains must work together with the Lukari to prevent a looming cataclysmic attack from the Tzenkethi.

These events all transpire in  Season 12’s newest featured episode, “Of Signs and Portents.” The update also brings back  Star Trek Online’s popular anniversary events and offers players new content to explore, including a challenging new reputation, two new space queues and new Research and Development school.

Reckoning includes:

  • New Lukari Science Vessel – Captains can finally earn the community-designed T6 Lukari Ho’kuun Science Vessel by participating in daily anniversary missions and completing the new featured episode.
  • Two Daily Anniversary Missions –Completing “Omega Molecule Stabilization Daily” and “Party Patrol” each day will earn dilithium, reputation marks and pictures of Q, which must be collected to earn the new Lukari ship.
  • Omega Molecule Stabilization Mini-Game – Players can track down omega particles that Q has scattered across the galaxy and use them to craft upgrade kits.
  • New Featured Episode – In the brand new episode, “Of Signs and Portents,” captains team up with the Lukari to battle the Tzenkethi and earn rewards toward the new Lukari Science Vessel.
  • New Reputation – “The Lukari Restoration Initiative” allows players to earn marks toward weapons and gear infused with protomatter technology to defend themselves from the Tzenkethi.
  • New Crafting School –  Season 12 introduces a new Research School to the R&D System, allowing captains to create new kits and modules.
  • Two New Space Queues
    • “Gravity Kills” – Captains will lead an attack on a Tzenkethi protomatter facility and collect Hawking particles to drop their special defenses.
    • “The Tzenkethi Front” – Players will defend the Eta Serpentis system from a Tzenkethi attack by turning their protomatter weapons against them.
  • Full Space Battlezone – Captains will head out to the final frontier to lead an all-out war against the Tzenkethi, in an effort to stop the production and deployment of protomatter weapons.

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Ornash. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new PvE queues, to seek out new marks and new reputations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

I will use it to dominate the galaxy and crush my enemies and also pick up sexy aliens. What else would one use a vehicle for?

Pimp my Ornash?

I’ll use the battlecruiser to explore farther out, using it’s power to make sure my people make it back home to their families.

I’ll use the battlecruiser to conquer the Tzenkethi in a glorious battle, klingon style :-)

I’ll use the ship to hold the front lines, to fight back the enemy, go on dangerous missions, to say to my foes “the line is drawn here, no further!”

I would use the for to find new races and help protect them from aggressive incursion from hostile forces and keep the universe free.

I’d use the Elachi Ornash for inspired aesthetic spacial domination! A big, glowing beacon of hope, bathed in brilliant neon light from the Lukari Restoration Initiative rep set. For defense, the famed crescent banana cannons and flanked by Elachi Support Craft will make my Elachi Ornash a ship to be envied, admired and feared!

I will use it to search the galaxy for places to build rest areas, because there is no way the toilets in this thing are Federation approved!

Times are tough, not many jobs available in the universe. I do have a delivery service of self sealing stem bolts, but my old Miranda class ship isn’t running like it used to. If I can’t get a more reliable ship, I may be forced to go work on my cousins moon :(

I’ll would yous my new ship to explore strange new worlds, fight and crush those who seek federation doom, transport those in need across the galaxy.

Peace and long life my friends.

I’m planning to start a new Romulan character who has a history with the Elachi (more so than is revealed in the story, I mean), and she will be exacting revenge for all they’ve done to her and her people, by using their own weapons against them.

I will use it to crush any that oppose me

The Elachi are known for their Crescent weapons technology. I see using this battlecruiser to deliver the galaxy’s best crescent rolls to those most in need. I am sure my chefs can adapt a recipe.

A battlecruiser’s purpose is simple; to conquer the enemy. At my command, this vessel will do just that.

The Reckoning is upon us. I would use the T-6 Ornash Battle cruiser to wreck fear into the enemies of the Alliance.

Exploration is an admirable goal as well as protection of the federation.

I need this ship so I can regain my red stapler!

As a Starfleet captain, I have to point out that we are on a mission of peaceful exploration and the ship would be used accordingly. However, if someone decides to pick a fight, well, we have enough armaments to vaporize them.

I would use the mighty power of the new ship to defend the Federation at all costs!

It’s a little known fact that the Tzenkethi have a soft spot on their tummies that I would use the Elachi Ornash Battlecruiser to tickle!

I will use this ship to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and record the lamentations of their women. . . .Also, lead STF tours of rarely-played queues for fleetmates and noobs.

To boldly explore with advanced xeno -technology !

I’ll use it see what’s out there.

I would use it to dominate the galaxy and crush my enemies. I hear the ship is a good one.

I would use it to dominate the galaxy and crush my enemies.

I will spread Gene’s vision of peace and happiness throughout the galaxy, and anyone who doesn’t like it will get blown to subatomic particles.

I, Rear Admiral Razi’el Kaldera of the USS Raza III will use my new battle cruiser to not only explore the final Frontier but protect those in need of assistance as well, a rear Admiral is only as strong as his crew and his ship, and I would be honored if you selected me for this ship, to go boldly where no one has gone before ( most likely the gamma quadrant)( sorry, I had to repost, autocorrect went all skynet on me)

The Ornash will become part of the large armada under command of Admiral Moore, with fleets assigned to exploration and discovery, defense of Federation planets, and the study of stellar phenomena. Of particular interest is the impenetrable barrier created by the First Federation marker buoys in the Alpha Quadrant.

Great to see Ilia back kicking butt…

I am overwhelmed not only by the design but also the Elachi ships generally with their gloomy past. I like the ships. Cross the fingers so I can get one and steer the gloomy ship through the vastness of the galaxy.

I’m generally overwhelmed not only by the design, but from the Elachi ships with their past. I like the ships. Cross the fingers so I can get one and control the ship through the galaxies.

I will explore strange new worlds, seeking out new life and new civilizations…in style. :)

Tour the galaxy in style.

I want to use the battle cruiser to integrate even more creatures into my Crew. :-)

I would use this powerful battle cruiser to seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before!

I shall use this mighty ship in my fleet to vanquish the enemies of the Warlord Janeway.

I would use the battlecruiser to explore strange new planet and help me beat Star Trek online and the help me destroy the Borg

I would use the battlecruiser to explore New Frontiers and the destroy the Borg and beat Star Trek online it’ll be great for my collection

Why can’t one explore the galaxy AND crush all those who oppose them? :-)

I’ll wind up claiming the Ornash on one of my more neglected Alts so they can have a solid ship to fly.

My captain will use the ship for exploration first and, should the need arise, to crush anyone willing to become an enemy.

I would use the new battlecruiser to explore strange new worlds and beat Star Trek online and take out the Borg once and for all and it’d be a good ship to my collection

I would use the ship to seek beat Star Trek online destroy the Borg and save planet Earth the Borg

And it’d be a good ship. My collection so please pick me I can’t afford any ships

Obviously I’ll use my battlecruiser to explore strange new worlds and civilizations, then crush their forces and conquer their empires!

The U.S.S. Reckoning (or is that the I.K.S. or R.R.W. Reckoning?) will see many facets of STO, from PUGs to missions, to exploring sector space… and looking darn good in orbit of Earth SpaceDock.

Or Qo’noS. Or New Romulus.

What to do with a T6 Elachi Ornash battlecruiser… Hoping to win so I can make that choice. :)

I will use my battlecruiser to defend those cannot defend themselves.

^ who

I would use it to further explore the universe, grow our understanding of all existence, and to defend those in need.

I will break the blockades… crush them with them with torpedos… beat them with their own arms… leave their planets empty and dead… and thats just on Tuesday

To stop our foes from bringing chaos, we must understand them. By re-purposing their ships we can learn from them. Adapt their tactics into ours to serve the Feder-collective. We Are The Borg. Resistance is Futile.
