Star Trek Merch Update: New TOS & TNG Swimwear, DS9 Tee Shirt Collection And More

Another week brings another group of Star Trek products to wear, read and collect. This week’s Trek Merch update has products from ThinkGeek, Amazon, Insights Publishing and the Canadian Mint.

ThinkGeek Swimwear

ThinkGeek is extending their Star Trek Swimwear Collection with some new items just in time for Summer 2018. For women, they are introducing the Star Trek TNG Ships One-Piece Swimsuit featuring a pattern with the U.S.S. Enterprise-D and many other ships from TNG. It comes in six sizes and is available now, priced at $59.99.

And for men, ThinkGeek has two new offerings. Star Trek TOS Swim Trunks and Star Trek TNG Swim Trunks. Both are available in six sizes and three different division colors and are available now, priced at $49.99.

DS9 Apparel Collection At Amazon

What better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine than with a tee from the new Deep Space Nine Apparel Collection exclusively at Amazon.

There are a total of 10 new designs, including a number of Ferengi Rules of Acquisition tees. They are available in a variety of colors and sizes for men, women and children. There are regular tees priced at $21.99 and premium tees made from lightweight jersey fabric, available now for $24.99

IncrediBuild also doing Enterprise D

Last week we reported that Insights was set to publish a Star Trek IncrediBuild book and model set for The Original Series USS Enterprise. Now, thanks to author Dayton Ward, we know there will also be a Star Trek: The Next Generation Incredibuild book and model set for the USS Enterprise-D. Ward also revealed the covers for both. The TOS set is coming in June, and can be pre-ordered now at Amazon, discounted to $15.29. There is no date set for the TNG set, but you can have Amazon email you when the pre-order is available.

2018 Canadian Star Trek coins

The Canadian Mint is adding more Star Trek coins for 2018 with a subscription of 3 starship silver coins with glow-in-the-dark designs. February brought the USS Enterprise D from Star Trek: The Next Generation, March introduced the USS Voyager coin from Star Trek: Voyager and April will have the NX-01 from Star Trek: Enterprise. Each coin in the set is priced at $64.95 (Canadian).

That’s it for this week’s update, keep up with all the Star Trek merchandise news and reviews at TrekMovie.com.

To quote Jack Nicholson’s Joker: “Crap, crap, crap, crap”

This forum needs a ‘like button’. Trek never seems to get decent merch, but this is tat of the highest order.

There’s only one type of DS9 Merchandising I would buy on the spot:

“Star Trek – Deep Space Nine – The Complete Series (BluRay, Remastered)”

DS9 is my favourite Trek series and I am very disappointed, that it probably won’t get a HD treatment….

Pre-ordered the wooden model. It’ll look cool in my office.

On the women’s one-piece swimsuit, the alignment of the printed pattern vis-a-vis the lower Borg cube is, /ahem/ … unfortunate. Also, the color palette (pastels on purple?) doesn’t evoke anything in any of the series. On the TOS swim trunks, the rank braid bothers me — (a) is it around the leg? the waist, given the placement of the delta insignia? and (b) you’re limited to lieutenant. The TNG-style trunks are the best of the lot, IMHO.

It’s only “ahem” only unfortunate if you’re 12 years old. Talk about being way over critical about clothing.

Is it really that difficult to type out “merchandise?
