The puppet is totally Vic Mignona.

Looks kinda like Anson Mount’s Pike—though this was filmed before Mount ever forayed into Star Trek.

I can see both

True!

It’s spooky.

My first thought was Anson Mount’s Pike as a Thunderbird. It really could be one of the Tracy marionettes.

It looks like Vic to me, too. It’s also sort of scary that the marionette appears to be the best actor in the bunch. :-)

If I wanted to watch a Star Trek spoof I would just watch Discovery…

just kidding I like Discovery but somebody was going to go there, just figured I’d get it out the way!

Nah, Lower Decks is the spoof, Picard is ST gone emo, and Discovery got off to a rather nasty start, but the second season was good. :) Fingers crossed about the third season. They finally made it good. Let’s hope they don’t decide to blow it up.

The trailer for this just looks so AWFUL.

Like an untalented high-school production.

Isn’t that the point?

If you two guys despise it, I guess that means I MUST have a look :D

Good luck. I hope you have plenty of Pepto Bismol, because the trailer is embarrassingly bada.

Originally shot in 2013? The Puppet is a hybrid of Chris Pine and Anson Mount! Depending the angle, I can also see Shatner 50 yrs ago!?

I love all the Start Trek actors, but this is so weird. It is amusing, but very weird.

I was hoping this had just gone away. So much for hoping.

It is a little … sad. But at least these actors can laugh at themselves (at least I hope so).

Star Toke!

Better late than never?!? I personally think this looks like fun! I swear I’ve been waiting for it’s release for longer than seven years… anyway, thanks for the heads up!

Hoping this is NOT Nichelle Nichols’ swan song.

I needed that laugh. thanks!

It was filmed 7 years ago, so it is not.

Except I think her health is suffering, so may be. Sad.

It’s not the last piece she worked on but it may turn out to be the last film to be released that she’s in.

Wish they would give her a role in an episode of Picard

I don’t want to be negative, I mean, this is just silly fun… But still I must ask, why do people waste their time doing things like this? Don’t they have anything better to do, like clean their cat litter box or something?

I’m assuming they got paid. Something.

I think making it was quite fun because they just got to goof around with each other all the time. It was a one long reunion. That’s also probably why it looks the way it does. they were to bust having fun making it to actually try for quality. Then again, this is some people’s sense of humor.

“why do people waste their time doing things like this”

For the same reason other people post comments on blogs critizing people’s use of time? ;)

Very insightful. Thank you.

OK Vulcan, just saw your ;) at the end… Ignore my previous comment…

Because they paid them money to do it. I mean, that’s probably the reason most people do a job. They don’t have to love, they just have to get paid to do it.

Given that this was shot 7 years ago and hasn’t been released yet, but also given the overall look, this definitely seems like a low-budget production. So either all of these actors are extremely desperate for any cash or they must have seen something in this project that made them do it despite the (probably) low salary.

Yeah you got me lol. Obviously no one is getting rich being in this movie, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what got SO MANY of them to sign up??? Sadly I would HAVE to think it was just for the money. Or maybe the script just came off more clever or funny. But based on that trailer anyway I don’t see it.

Somehow, my impression is that someone from the producers was probably friends with some of the actors. And then it turned into one actor asking the next and the next and getting all of them together for a nice reunion. So the draw was probably more meeting their friends again than shooting this movie. Then again, many of the actors in this don’t seem to be terribly busy with other projects so maybe even a little money was enticing enough.

More proof, as if we needed it, that the film Idiocracy was a documentary.

Wow! This looks tremendously lame. I hope this isn’t Nichelle Nichols swan song, too. But from what I hear she is suffering dementia, so sadly this may be it. A lot of talent, but this just looks bad.

meh

Yeah, can’t say I have any interest in seeing this. It just looks very poorly made.

I think maybe I’ll re-watch Galaxy Quest instead…

2013? What took them so long???

Meh

I’m no fan of Snoopdog. His vulgar mouth turns me off.

I’m down for a cringe inducing b-movie! Should be fun.

This looks unbelievably bad!

I see why it’s taken 7 years to get a distributor. It’s still amazing they got Star Trek actors from basically every show minus the new ones and THIS what they do with them?

Well, it looks better than Lower Decks at least. LOL

The link in the article didn’t work for me. Is there one that does? Can’t sign up without one that works..

They changed event planning companies it seems. The link in the article has been updated.
