Another in-person event for 2020 has been postponed. This time it’s the official Star Trek convention in Germany, which had already been rescheduled once before.
DST Germany moves to 2021
Today Massive Events, who runs the official Star Trek conventions in Europe, announced that October’s Destination Star Trek event in Dortmund Germany has been postponed, with the new dates scheduled June 25th to 27th in 2021. Originally the event was set for the first week of May, but in March the con was moved to October in hopes that the COVID-19 pandemic would have abated by that time.
According to the official announcement, the move was due to government restrictions. The statement said, “We hope you understand that our most important consideration is your health and so at the moment the best way to keep you safe is to move DST to a time when we can all be together in a risk-free environment and so enjoy the event.”
The 2020 event had the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager as a focus, with a planned reunion of the cast, and this will still be the case for the 2021 event. According to the statement, “We still plan to center it around Voyager’s anniversary, since it’s not fair that we were not all able to celebrate it properly this year and we know they are still really looking forward to seeing you, as you are them!”
Tickets for the Destination Star Trek 2020 can be used for the 2021 event. For those who cannot make the new date, you’ll get a voucher that can be used for any Destination Star Trek event, in Germany or the UK, or on any DST product, up until December 2022. Vouchers not used by that date can be used for a refund. More details can be found at destinationstartrekgermany.com.
Voyager reunion in Germany moved to 2021
DST London still set for November, but update coming soon
As of now, the Destination Star Trek London convention is still on the schedule for November 13-15, 2020, including a Star Trek: Voyager cast reunion. Today in a Facebook post, the DST team let fans know an update on the event is coming soon:
We are just reviewing and evaluating things at the moment and we will have an update on Destination Star Trek London in the next few weeks for you all. We really appreciate your patience in this turbulent time and hope that you have all managed to stay well and look after yourselves!
STLV still scheduled for December, Cruise moved to 2022
In the USA, the official Star Trek Las Vegas convention is still set for December 9-13, rescheduled from its usual time in August. As of now, Creation Entertainment has only two in-person events planned for 2020: STLV in December, and an official Supernatural con in New Orleans in late November.
As for Star Trek: The Cruise, the 2021 sailing has been postponed to 2022.

Not suprised the cruise got moved out. Get a refund on the tickets if you paid for them, some of these cruise lines are likely to cease operations in the next twelve months.
Don’t be suprised if the Vegas convention gets rescheduled, or goes vitural. Clark County is still a mess.
I’m prepared to attend these new dates, my tickets have not been refunded yet, but i live in UK, I’m not booking any trains/flights until i know they wont change dates again.
