I love that Starfleet appears to be using Exocomps.

Naren Shankar hoped they’d be used, but not to cute.

Tendi and Rutherford would fine cuteness in relay wiring though.

Using?
We spent a whole episode learning that they’re not to be used.
This one’s a new crewmember in all likelihood.

Maybe a bad choice in words; how about ‘working with’?

Sorry, I really need to proof and edit these.

I believe Shankar was meaning as a writer that he hoped exocomps would have an existence beyond a single TNG episode, but not to for a cute droid-like merchandising reason.

With LDs, we’re seeing them likely as Shankar intended, but Tendi found the eels and Badgley “cute.”

Ensign Peanut Hamper is wearing a blue Starfleet uniform.

I’m looking forward to the season finale.

Fans really underestimated Lower Decks. It’s a lot better than we expected it to be.

It’s a lot better than we expected it to be.”

It was/is for me. For sure.

Granted, the standard for “better” isn’t exactly high after 2 seasons of Discovery and 1 season of Picard! :D

Discovery is fantastic. Picard…. meh.

The Romulan back story and Seven were the best parts of Picard. The whole Android/Synth/Mars storyline was meh.

Some didn’t judge it before watching. Some fans were excited and still are. Too many fans poo-poo things before they see it.

I had high expectations for this show and it exceeded them. I will have some serious withdrawal after this Thursday. Can’t wait for Season 2!

I admit that I’m “not happy” that the season’s coming to an end.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had that 90s Trek mixed feeling of excitement for a season finale and disappointment that the season’s ending.

And that’s a good mixed feeling!

Absolutely!

But my inner preschooler really wants 12 episode seasons at least. It seems like it’s going on hiatus just as it’s hitting its rhythm.

TG47, do we have confirmation already that season 2 will also only have 10 episodes or is that still up to the stars?

Same here, first 2 episodes were a bit weak, terrible humour and the balance of humour v serious stuff off. They fixed that very quickly and it’s grown into an excellent series. The last 2 episodes were fantastic.
Hopefully we’ll get longer (substantially) seasons.. But I doubt that will happen.

This show is “blah” and “meh”. I give it a 4/10, TAS was better, probably a 7/10. Easily my lowest ranked series. Looking forward to Discovery season 3 though, I have higher expectations.

I enjoyed the show more than I did Picard, and discovery. Maybe it’s just because I miss the style of tng, ds9, voyager. If I had one complaint it’s that they have absolutely no imagination on alien races. Eg. pig people, cat people, bird people, rat people,

Still trying to not over judge this show before the finale. As much as I have appreciated their having more connection to canon, I would have happily seen some of the energy spent on obscure references used in sharper, deeper stories. I was expecting something more akin to Rick and Morty or The Venture Brothers, but it felt more like an extended off brand Family Guy Star Trek special (not said complementarily). I’m hoping the finale leaves me with a good taste but more hoping they grow the beard in season 2.

Yeah this was never going to be Rick and Morty. I think extreme Guardians of the Galaxy is best I can come up with for what a foolish universe they are in – though the jokes and animation i agree are Family Guy sort of. Though Family Guy reference “humor” is different.

I haven’t seen much of Family Guy, but what I have seen is often far more ‘adult’/less politically correct than this show, even though Lower Decks isn’t exactly devoid of adult content. It’s more loving/mocking humour than it is offensive.

You can’t do sharper deeper stories in 20 minutes in a comedy setting. That’s not what this was ever going to be and for you to expect that is your own fault.

I wonder why Jerry Goldsmith wasn’t in the credits? Alexander Couragewas, for “obvious” reasons?
