‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ And ‘Strange New Worlds’ Headed To Paramount+ In Latin America

The wait for new animated Star Trek will soon be over for fans in Latin America, with more good news for next year too.

Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds in Latin America

Star Trek: Lower Decks debuted on Paramount+ in the USA last summer and earlier this year on Amazon in many parts of the world, but fans in Latin America have been left waiting. Today ViacomCBS announced the animated series will debut exclusively on Paramount+ in Latin America. The first two seasons of the show arrive on Paramount Plus Latinoamérica, starting in September. Season 2 debuts on Paramount Plus in the USA on August 12.

ViacomCBS also announced that the new series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will debut exclusively on Paramount+ in Latin America. This follows the news earlier this month that the series set on Captain Pike’s USS Enterprise is headed to CTV Sci-Fi in Canada. No premiere date has been confirmed, but Strange New Worlds is expected to debut in 2022. ViacomCBS has yet to announce where fans outside the Americas will be able to see the show.

Today’s announcement is a sign of how ViacomCBS is making good on plans to expand Paramount+ around the world. The streaming service is also already available in the Nordic countries and Australia, with more global launches planned.

“We jumped at the opportunity to bring these two new series from the iconic Star Trek universe to Paramount+ in Latin America,” said Kelly Day, President of Streaming and COO of ViacomCBS Networks International in a statement. “We are proud that Paramount+ is a destination for Star Trek and these are the perfect additions to our diverse content offering featuring beloved franchises, new originals, and fan-favorite localized content for our global audience.”

Earlier this month ViacomCBS announced Star Trek: Prodigy was headed to CTV Sci-Fi in Canada, but has yet to reveal where fans outside of North America will be able to see the upcoming animated series aimed at younger viewers.  Currently outside of North America Star Trek: Discovery is available on Netflix and Star Trek: Picard is available on Amazon Prime Video.

¡Bravo! ¡Excelente!

Really hoping we get Strange New Worlds photos or trailers soon.

Me too!

Two Lower Decks seasons in September? When is the 2nd season premiering?

August 12th in America.

Can’t wait. It’s the most rewarding Trek show for me since Voyager, which is surprising for me because I hated the premise. Glad I was wrong.
