Despite mixed reactions to Discovery by many old-school fans like myself, IMO the show has had some positive elements to it that have impressed me. One is the “family-like” comraderie of the cast and crew. Another is the focused dedication of several of those involved in Discovery from day one – one of those persons being Mitchell who was clearly so excited and like a “kid in a candy store” just to be part of the Star Trek franchise. The featurette really demonstrates both of these things in spades.
Sad to hear of his ALS diagnosis and best regards and wishes to the actor and his family and friends.

I have very many problems with Discovery, but it was very nice of them to do that for Ken Mitchell.

Hope we can see Ken Mitchell perform again, in Discovery Season 4. God bless this guy. He seems such a kind and loving person. Beautiful family. Glad the production team created new characters for him. Also, giving him voice work in Lower Decks.

Wish the very best for Ken, hope love, good care, and medical treatment at least slow down his ALS condition.

God Bless you Ken. Live Long and Prosper. m(-_-)m

really loved kenneth’s performance in s1 to s3, especially his faceted figure in s3. hope to see him again, all the best to this actor!

Well that’s absolutely awful to hear that about Ken Mitchell’s diagnosis. I wish him and his loved ones the best of luck with his battle.

Oy – just got a chance to watch this…wow, that was powerful. I had no idea Mitchell was battling ALS, and that’s why his character was in a wheel chair of sorts in season 3. I sincerely hope he can return again in some capacity in season 4, even if it’s just a small role.
