This show feels like a web series or animated comic strip. I really wanted to like it. It’s just not funny. Leans on the Easter egg crutch too much.

Uuuuugh, can we please get rid of the “Dustbuster” phaser?

Please?

That’s not the “dustbuster”, which was the unwieldy flat and wide TNG season 1 & 2 phaser.

LDS seems to have adopted an animated version of the “cobra head” (TNG S3) phaser.

If they want it to be more in line with 2380 it should be the “boomerang” – the much nicer more curved version of the cobra head used in later DS9 seasons, VOY, and the TNG movies.

Or the “dolphin” which is an even more angular variation on the cobra head used in Nemesis (and an alternate future VOY episode).

Thanks, but how do you aim?

That’s always been an open question with phasers of the handheld “TV remote” kind of design. Point in the general direction of your intended target and shoot I guess? It must have advanced targeting AI or something.

I wonder if this is Kivas Fajo’s confiscated collection that is being inventoried? It would be a cool nod to the TNG episode “The Most Toys”.

That’s interesting that you mention that. I went through the Memory Alpha page for Kivas Fajo and the insignia on his chest is similar to the gold one on the painting of the guy in blue with the beard. 🤔

Yep, they’re both members of the trade guild :-)

This episode was hilarious! We saw Mariner being able to give up being ‘team leader’ and all around badass and realize that her team mates can be just as good as she is. This was also laugh out loud funny in several places. Plus the whole thing about the collector and fandom was a nice bit of wit. The whole show was great this week.

This show is a lot more enjoyable this season. More engaging, less cringey, better and more consistent humor. It’s everything Orville wished it could be.
