Can he get his show off of the RT network now?
What is RT?
Russia Today, which was the Russian government’s answer to CNN. It is effectively a Russian government propaganda mouthpiece.
Shatner’s involvement is particularly outrageous in light of the fact that Chicago has one of the biggest Ukrainian diaspora populations, as does his hometown of Montreal.
This is utterly repugnant to the ideals of Star Trek. Ukrainian-American groups must picket this convention so long as its marquee speaker continues to collaborate with the Russian government.
Wow, it’s like people have the outrage stuff on macro key. Lots of Ukrainians in Chicago? Whoda thunk?
Wow, I wonder why that might be.
Did you take an ambien and sleep for the last five days?
Do you think it’s OK that William Shatner has decided to shill for RT?
Do you think it’s OK that when RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan tweets that “Captain Kirk has come over to the side of good” and all Shatner does nothing beyond saying “I don’t know who that woman is”?
About a year ago Shatner’s company (I have no doubt he was not at all involved in the details and doesn’t know what they are) makes a business deal with a network and you’re acting like he’s personally responsible for invading Ukraine. Come on.
Shatner and Takei in the same arena? I’ll buy a ticket to THAT!!
Kirk vs Gorn?
NO, Kirk vs Scorn!
I did not realize this until today, but William Shatner, whom I have heretofore admired, is hosting a show on RT.
This is a disgrace and he must be utterly condemned for it.
Anyone who attends this convention and asks a question must reject subjects like the combination to Kirk’s safe, or even Blue Origin, and expressly ask Shatner to justify his choice to join a Russian propaganda network.
Anyone going? I’d like to go!
I might be going, but I can’t access the site to buy any tickets. Very annoying!
Double post. My bad.
