The third and final season of Star Trek: Picard arrives in February and it is going to get a big push at next month’s New York Comic-Con with a star-studded panel. Paramount+ is also bringing Discovery and Prodigy to the stage for the con set for the second weekend of October.
Star Trek Universe at New York Comic-Con 2022
The Paramount+ Star Trek Universe panel at New York Comic-Con 2022 is set for Saturday, October 8 at New York Comic-Con at the Javitts Center in Manhattan, according to a report on the official site. The full panel will run from 4 – 5:30 PM ET. It will include a Picard panel with star Sir Patrick Stewart joined by his Picard (and TNG) co-stars Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis and Michael Dorn. This will be the first time the Star Trek: The Next Generation stars will appear together on stage in years, even though there have been a number of Picard panels at recent events including San Diego Comic-Con and last week’s Star Trek Day. Also joining the actors will be executive producer and showrunner Terry Matalas along with executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Rod Roddenberry.
In addition, Kurtzman and Roddenberry will be joined by Star Trek: Discovery star Sonequa Martin-Green and showrunner Michelle Paradise to give an update on the fifth season, which is currently in production in Toronto.
Last but not least, Star Trek: Prodigy will be represented by voice stars Kate Mulgrew, Ella Purnell, Brett Gray, and Jameela Jamil who will be joined by Kurtzman, Rod Roddenberry along with executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman, and Ben Hibon. Prodigy returns with the second half of season one on October 27.

OK this looks like the main event for Picard season 3 I think many of us was hoping we would get on Star Trek day itself. But this will be the final big media event before the show airs again and with not just the entire TNG cast together but with Matalas, Kurtzman and Rodenberry there it will be pretty big and expecting the main trailer obviously. I am cautiously optimistic but the teaser trailer definitely sparked my interest and it told the world we’re getting a proper TNG story line at least. It doesn’t mean it will be good, but it is definitely going in the right direction at least. I’m just excited to see all these guys back in place again! :)
Also looking forward to the Prodigy panel. I assume we’ll get a trailer there too since that show will be starting pretty soon. It’s crazy out of all the current shows, that story line is what I’m most excited about.
The teaser trailer was fantastic and ironically even got me more excited about the Enterprise because I’m almost positive the ship Riker was referring to when he said, “Hello beautiful” was not the Titan.
The special effects looked a little lame, sort of video game-level quality. Hopefully those were not the finished effects.
Me too. I can only hope since they keep saying they are going out with a bang they are going to put everything they have into this. They have about 4 ish more months of POST they can do to tidy things up
I had the same thought. Even if you pause the trailer and make sure your YouTube settings are 1080 the space effects look unfinished. So fingers crossed those get tidied up in the next few months.
Yeah I think it’s the Enterprise as well they are reacting to. It’s a little weird to cut that scene if it was the Tittan since that was the star of the trailer. Fingers crossed anyway. ;)
But we know we’re getting the Enterprise, that’s been confirmed. It will be great to welcome a new one to the family!
It will be but I think we might be getting the 1701-D saucer back in a museum too.
Yeah it sounds like we are getting the D (or some part of it) for sure but Matalas basically confirmed on Twitter the Enterprise F will be seen as well.
The Picard teaser was too much of a teaser for me to get excited about anything. I mean I really want to watch the season of course but I was hoping for a more substantial trailer lol. I enjoyed the first two seasons, although some of the middle episodes of season 2 didn’t work for me, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy season 3. I just wish I didn’t have to wait another 5 months.
I definitely understand and sadly it was the only trailer we even got. But as said, they probably wanted to show the full one at NYCC although they showed the main trailer for season 2 last year on Star Trek day so you got me?
Maybe they feel like they perhaps spoiled a bit too much with the Trek Day trailer last year which might have contributed to the poor reception?
