Some times these Flashlight of the Photographers are so bright, that these Personen losing their Eye Colors

Also Stephanie Czajkowski in this Picture reminds me of Younger “Pink” Singer

Which actor is Personen?

Ups, peoples is what i meant

Cool — what a great event!!!

PS: Why can’t P+ have an upgrade option to get all the eps at once? I mean, if P+ emailed me an offer right now to pay $50 to get all 10 eps next week, I would bite!

I’m kinda glad they don’t. If they did, then we’d have ten weeks of you going on ad nauseam about how bitterly disappointed you are about the whole thing….

Now that Mark Altman likes it, I think I’m going to enjoy it. I just didn’t trust the other couple of pretend insiders (self-appointed “superfans”..lol) on YouTube. That’s all

And I trust Altman so much that — you damn right I would pay 50 bucks for full access to the 10 eps!

lol when people have other people make up their minds for them. this is why there are such things are influencers. people who don’t know what they like or don’t like until someone tells them so. lol

Here we go…

LOL!

One thing that is always impressive to me is how genuine and warm Michael Dorn comes across in interviews. Having met him a few times at conventions and other events..he’s just genuinely that kind of a guy, as is Jonathan Frakes apparently.

Yes, I met and talked to Frakes one-on-one in an elevator lobby years ago. He is a genuine good guy!

Me and my girlfriend actually was there last night hoping to see who we could see and unfortunately we couldn’t see that many because as shown the interview section was blocked from public view. But we actually still saw a few of them and got pictures from across the street where it was happening. We could at least see them arriving.

The ones we caught were Johnathan Fakes, Will Wheaton, Michelle Hurd, Michael Dorn and Patrick Stewart. But the best one was seeing Cirroc Lofton show up right before show time but basically just arrived on his own and passed us when we were like the only people left. I shouted ‘Jake’ (first thing came to mind, I actually felt bad lol) and he gave me a big smile before walking across the street to go in.

And right before we left, we heard a loud chorus of people in front of the theater chanting “Lower Decks”. I swear I’m not making that up lol, but it was loud. I assumed McMahan or someone showed up but it’s amazing the love that show gets! :)

We were there about 90 minutes total and it was still fun to just hang around. My girlfriend really came to see Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew (Voyager is her favorite show) but oh well. We still had fun and talked to a bunch of tourists who had no clue what was going on lol. So a good night overall!

Oh btw, one thing I forgot to add, out of all the actors we saw, it was only Frakes that went up to the people who waited in line and went to sign autographs and talked to them. That’s not a slight against the ones who didn’t of course, but it does show why Frakes is so beloved in the fanbase. He always goes out of his way to embrace both the show and its fans.

Yep!!!

Whoops! I apologize for responding to you… Wasn’t paying attention

Dude that sounds completely like Frakes!

LOL yeah! That’s why Frakes rocks! :)

I think the “LOWER DECKS” chanting was for Tawny Newsome. She also stopped to sign autographs with Frakes and Todd Stashwick.

That would definitely explain it! Because it was loud lol. But cool she was there as well.

Sounds like you guys still had fun! Did you see many people dressed up? Any Klingons or Borg?

And I do the Lower Decks chant before watching every episode!

LOL!

Some people dressed up, but nothing that extravagant though You definitely saw people in Starfleet uniforms, but most just wore Trek shirts and communicator badges. Maybe there were people inside we didn’t get to see though.

That’s quite a coup getting Madonna in to play Dr Crusher.

Just…really??

And Sting looks great as Vadic

Not remotely funny.

No Spiner nor Sirtis?

I hope it was just a scheduling thing for Sirtis. I think she moved back to the UK, IIRC. It seems like she is getting the least amount of pre-show buzz, so I hope they do her character justice. I’ve always liked Troi.

Ms. Sirtis has moved back to the UK, that’s quite a trip for a press junket. No idea on Mr. Spiner, though.

Yeah, like who in their right mind would ever fly between LAX and London on a business trip? No one ever does that.

Her reasons are her own.

That long a trip for a premiere is a lot.

Plus, there may be a UK premiere for her to cover. I believe they did one for season one.

Well the UK premiere think would make sense. I don’t think an actor/actress really minds travel between LAX and London for a major premiere. I am not buying that. First class, lay flat seat for 10 hours = no big deal. Now my recent trip from LAX to Jordan, economy class, and 21 hours and two airplanes — now that’s a legitimate travel inconvenience…lol

Perhaps him and his agent are too busy figuring out how to get another Soong family member into strange new worlds or prodigy. Surely data has another Android brother or doctor Soong has a niece or nephew that he can play… And they can age him up because they know the fans will continue to buy it. Lol.

Stewart sounds like a robot.

sadly looked like there was more press and cast members than fans at the event

A big part of that is because they blocked off most of the viewing. Most people couldn’t see anything other than arrivals. It’s not very fun to just look at a large plastic tent. I was there, people came and went because there really was nothing you could see unless you were invited in.

Remember, as much as us older fans like this, as Phil has commented, this is largely a fan service season of the next generation to say goodbye to it…this not a market growing series like SNW, DSC or Prodigy that’s going to get the broader public all that excited, especially young fans.

Well it’s still Kurtzman Trek, so….

This is what people seem to be forgetting in their excitement.

Well I would say if you were disappointed in the last few seasons as well, then that would obviously be a big factor too.

I don’t think it’s anything more than being a closed premiere. The only people who could even get near them were the same people who were already invited inside to watch it. Again I was there, you couldn’t even see them going inside. If the area was more opened and you can see them taking pictures, signing autographs, etc it would’ve gotten more attention. Most got bored and left after a few minutes.

This might point to a very big early plot twist that’s being held back, though on the other hand you wouldn’t think they’d share so many episodes with the press (probably under NDA).

I do think that’s why more actors didn’t come obviously, at least the ones we don’t know about.

I was at an event with David Tennant (Doctor Who) a few years ago and I passed him outside during the photo shoot. The problem then was that one person would stop to stare, and then other people would either because of Tennant or because of other people doing it and so on to the point they had to get it done quickly and move him on to stop the street getting blocked.

They invited ALOT of fans, more than half our 932 seats in the main theatre were fan tickets, and we had an overflow theatre in our multiplex that seats nearly200 that was ALL fans.

I can’t help but wonder who they may have asked NOT to attend this event to avoid potential spoilers.

Maybe…..Simon Pegg?

My hope?
Colm Meany
Garret Wang
RDM (Robert Duncan McNeil, not Ron Moore)
Avery Brooks
Nana Visitor

Actually I’ll take Ron Moore please any day instead of that blowhard who recently said Strange New worlds was the worst Star Trek series ever…lol

…my mistake: Robert Meyer Burnett is the self-appointed, “insider-superfan” who I was referring to here — I have no issue with Robert Duncan McNeil.

Why… All of these

I read this as people you didn’t want there so if I misread I apologize

I think everyone knew what you were saying! 😎

Its people who I hoped were not there to avoid spoilers, meaning they are in the show.

I hope so too!

I would take all these as well bro!

my bet is on Avery Brooks… because if his “child” is spotted then perhas the Father is not far away. Perhaps in Disguise or he do not like these open PR Stunts anymore

A simpler explanation for that would be that Jake is in it. If Brooks was unavailable (which from everything I’ve read about him seems likely, not to mention that that’s a major DS9 story element to pick at to bring Sisko back) having Jake appear seems like a nice way to incorporate the Siskos.

True, it could be also that

Penny Jerald (Kasidy Yates) would also be a good fit and she’s definitely still active as she has been a regular on The Orville.

I would love any of those too! Before I had a feeling we would see Kira like I thought we would see Janeway, but now not so much; but love to be wrong. Matalas already ruled out Sisko and O’Brien IIRC.

Alec Peters, because the secret real villain of s3 is a reanimated Captain Garth, who has suddenly stopped looking like Steve Ihnat and transformed into a really bad actor with a penchant for conning susceptible fans out of their money, over and over again.

John DeLancie. Q is in it, he said as much during the promotion for Season 2, that he was filming scenes for season 3 already.

But didn’t Q die at the end of season 2?

The actor could have misspoken. Or, if he is in S3, then perhaps there were extra scenes filmed that Jean-Luc will flash back to?

He has since taken back that comment. he said that because season 2&3 were filming back to back he thought some of the episodes he shot was for season 3, but he later realized he was mistaken.

That makes a lot of sense now, thanks!

This is so moving! I’m happy for all of them. Can’t wait.

Me too. Real live action 24th century Star Trek again. And good too?? Sign me up.

So Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis are not at the premiere? Are they so unimportant in the show?

Why? Perhaps Life happens?

Maybe one of them was sick or something came up that prevented them from attending

Correct. Just not appearing at the Premiere do not mean they hate it. I am sad, that someones think in “Black and White” thoughts. or “If you are not here, then you are not my friend anymore!”

But well. i do not want to sound mean

I believe that most of the advance information has made it clear that while Picard eventually meets up with all of his old senior officers, Riker is the only one who appears in each episode.

In terms of who attended the premiere, Sirtis lives in London now and might not be interested in the risks of a long round trip just for a premiere…

Or, she might be attending a London premiere event next week.

Spiner? Who knows?

Yeah Riker is in every episode, music to many fanboys ears!

I was hoping to see Spiner and Sirtis at the premiere as well, but that’s life.

One of the things with not having Data (probably) is it gives more time to focus on these other relationships in a way that has been lacking probably since TNG ended. Even then Data was possibly not far off a break-out character though I might be biassed on that since he was my favourite when I was a child and first saw TNG.

I wonder if they are going to put out a clear version of the poster? I love the artwork, but the fake ageing thing is not needed…it’s so overdone I almost expected to see a Coke stain somewhere…lol

Fake ageing? There is no ageing on this poster. If you look at the full portrait-style poster the cream border is completely clean and there are no fake scuffs or distressing, rips, dirt marks or fold marks anywhere.

I think you’re confusing the textures for ageing, or perhaps that it calls back to an iconic style of poster images from the 80s/90s, maybe that’s why it feels aged for you?

The reason there is so much texture is because this was a commissioned piece created by Paul Shipper, a UK based illustrator who uses traditional and digital techniques in his work. These aren’t just photos of the cast with a bit of fake paint blotches thrown over them on photoshop, he would’ve drawn these characters himself, probably digitally, but he starts off with a physical painted canvas to capture real textures. If you get a HD version of the poster and zoom into the faces you can see all the individual pencil marks, it’s quite impressive.

Shipper’s style emulates Drew Struzan, the great poster artist who created iconic posters for Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Back to the Future, E.T. etc. etc. So it’s very much supposed to look like a classic poster along the lines of the ones I mentioned, with all the textures and pencil marks etc.

We already have that other poster, the initial one released a few weeks ago, which was created using the promotional photographs; the one where they’re all in that blue and gold circle with the two ships flying through on the off-white background. I think Shipper worked from the bank of promotional photographs they took for this season, so in theory someone could recreate his image from photographs but I wouldn’t really see the point in that.

OK you sound like you understand the artwork process here a lot better than I do. I thought I was seeing some deliberate hazing or grain added to the poster that reduces the clarity of it, that’s why I was wondering if there might be an alternate version available at some point that’s less fuzzy.

But hey if this is the way the artist was trying to achieve something I’ll just appreciate it for what it is then and withdraw my misinformed comment. Basically it’s a pretty awesome poster

awww marina didn’t make it huh? she’s back in england.
