where can we watch The Ready Room in Canada?

Not sure. But you might succeed playing it after first d*wnl*ading it through 9convert.com – just plug in the YT link! Good luck!

I would expect it drop into Star Trek.com and the official Star Trek Facebook page (Chromecast enabled) in the next 24 hrs

I’m guessing you tube maybe?

The global versions are made available at StarTrek.com.

That’s where I watch if from Canada (even though it’s a horrible site on mobile).

It’s not posted there yet, but I would expect it to go up before close of business today in California.

Editing to add – for once the Paramount YouTube version is playable in Canada. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/QVLxOkm1PeU

The official Star Trek website does post TRR episodes, but this one is not yet posted on the Canadian version of the website. I guess we just have to wait.
Alternatively, if you have a VPN, I think you can watch it on YT with a US web address.

Cable 10 Saskatoon Community Access Channel

? Unless you’re in Sask or using a trick to get free cable channels elsewhere (which seems to be a thing), this isn’t really helping.

But it’s weird that the full video didn’t get posted to StarTrek.com by close of business Friday. Not Paramount social media team’s finest moment.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel or streaming on Crave (at least they used to have the eps there).

Only the featurettes are on the CTV app now.

Season one is however finally back On Demand on the CTV Sci-fi channel.

Hey, they’re taking big swings! ;)

She does say that a lot!

HE HE YAY!!!!!!!

I especially enjoyed the interview with Ethan Peck; I loved his comment about how Star Trek is unique in not fearing the unknown or the Other but rather in facing those things or those people with curiosity and open hearts. He truly GETS it! The man who plays Spock should be an intelligent and thoughtful man, and it sounds as if Mr. Peck is.

This felt mostly like a hype video for possible new fans. It was also amusing to hear Wil Wheaton say that S1 of SNW was available only on P+, given that it’s also on YouTube now. :-) Still, I’m already plenty excited about S2 of SNW, so they didn’t need to make a video for me; they needed to make one to attract those who aren’t already eager to watch.

Audience ready, Captain!

I wonder if Wil Wheaton was advised not to promote YouTube carrying the show for free, since that’s only until the end of the month?

Either way, it was nice to get some promo interviews. I really enjoy seeing Ethan Peck talk about his role as Spock, you can just tell he gets it. Hopefully this second season is a lot more Number One heavy than last season.

I wonder if maybe this Ready Room was filmed before they put S1 up on YouTube?

I love, love, love how much Peck gets it! In addition to the stuff I talked about above, I also loved his talking about Spock’s leadership approach. And yeah, more Number One would be nice.

Are the Ready Room writers part of the WGA? If so, this must have been filmed, or at least written, before season 1 was on YouTube.

I believe Wil addressed The Ready Room and the strike on his Facebook page. I’d have to go back and check his exact words, but I know he addressed it.

I found it! He answered this question in the comments of a FB post on June 1st. “No, our writers aren’t members of the WGA. If they choose to organize, I will fully support them.” The thread is there if you want to read it.

Thanks for looking that up!

You’re welcome. It was bugging me … I was sitting here thinking, “I can’t just leave a vague comment on something I know I’ve read.” I really enjoy The Ready Room, and I enjoy Wil’s enthusiasm, not only as a Trek vet but a fan.

My husband is a professor, and during the height of the pandemic, his university held classes online. He was making videos for the first time in his life, so he looked up some tips for making them. He read a tip that said, “The camera eats your energy, so if you want to come across as enthusiastic, you need to give off twice as much energy as you would in person.

Given how enthusiastic Wil Wheaton looks on video, I can’t IMAGINE how much enthusiasm he must have in person, if that rule is really true! :-)

If you grew up a Trek fan, and then got to be on Trek for a few years, and your cast mates really are like family, then I imagine he has one of the best jobs in the world.

For sure!

Most likely this is the case. When Wil was on Celebrity Jeopardy he said they were filming the Picard Ready Room episodes. That aired in November 2022 and was filmed in summer 2022.

Ah, thanks. Several months lead time, then!

Say what you what about Will Wheaton, but the dude dresses like a professional for his Star Trek media show — and I respect that! I am getting fatigued with the “slobs in poor fitting t-shirts with bad hair/beard grooming who look like they just rolled out of bed” look that I see on many genre “superfan” internet shows (not Trekmovie).

Except for the shoes. As they say, look at the shoes.

It would be great of they actually posted it on facebook for international fans like they said they would.

Facebook isn’t the place for international fans usually – the global versions are normally posted on StarTrek.com.

I just finished EPS 1-9 of S1. I’ll watch 10 on Wednesday. I’m getting ready for a season of “Big Swings!”

Hit it!

Great to hear about new SNW enthusiasts!

If you haven’t run through Prodigy yet, it’s 7 1/2 hours well spent – just keep in mind that it starts out looing and feeling like it’s from another franchise in order to draw in families who have no Trek knowledge.

Agreed, I very much enjoyed the first season of PRO, to my surprise.

Yay! Welcome to Strange New Worlds. I think it’s something special, even within Star Trek, and that’s saying something.

Just so refreshing how it brings back the excitement, discovery and danger of space exploration… space feels new again with SNW. Love the little touches, the monitors, the sounds of the tricorders and sensors, the crew always wondering if they are good enough to face what’s ahead. Can’t wait for season two.
Just wish they would bring back the colors on the bridge (slowly seeing some improvement) and the blue phasers (so much better than generic red) but whatever

I still wanna watch it! Why is it not on startrek.com yet??
