See Worf Pursue An Iotion Mobster And His Crew Of Gorn Gangsters In ‘Star Trek: Defiant’ #11

Tomorrow the ongoing Star Trek: Defiant series from IDW wraps up the “Another Piece of the Action” arc inspired by Mission: Impossible with Worf leading a “disavowed” team of off-the-books agents. The Defiant series is written by Chris Cantwell (Iron Man, Namor, Star Wars: Obi-Wan) with art by Mike Feehan (Star Trek, DC’s Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles). We have a preview and the covers for issue 11.

Synopsis: 

The Defiant crew faces their most dangerous bounty in the finale of Defiant arc two! Iotion gangster Benny the Munch is in town looking to expand his turf, and he’s not stopping until he owns every living being in the galaxy. Meanwhile, when Captain Worf sends Nymira on an undercover mission to uncover the infamous mobster’s grand plans, she finds herself volunteering her captain to fight Benny’s prized Gorn goon in a Kreel death tournament known as the Kash-Baht Death Crucible. Whoops!

I didn’t even see that. Flat out thought it read, “Lotion Monster” and wondered what on Earth the comics authors have been getting away with lately.

I misread it as Lobster! Wondered if a Futurama/Zoidberg crossover was happening.

This comic has been fun. I just wish the art was better.

Considering that the Ferengi and the Orions exist, the Iotions would fit right in, though I missed the implication that 24th century Iotions would look like 23rd century classic Trek!

I still can’t believe they have Spock serving under Worf. The strange fanfic wankery in these stories is quite something.
