New ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Merch: Interactive Book, Card Game, Model Kit, Season 5 Posters, And More

The fifth and final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks kicks off on Thursday with a two-episode premiere on Paramount+. And if you want to go for the full experience there is some brand new Lower Decks merchandise to pick up.

Warp Your Own Way book

Today IDW released the new interactive book Star Trek: Lower Decks-Warp Your Own Way. The book reunites the Lower Decks comics team of author Ryan North and artist Chris Fenoglio for a 208-page fully illustrated “choose your adventure” style graphic novel. Here is the official blurb:

Mariner just wants to have a normal day, but no matter what side of the bed she wakes up on, the world is ending. Literally. If she has coffee, Borg attack! If she has raktajino, cue the Romulan boarding party! And in each scenario, Mariner and her friends end up dead, sometimes the ship is destroyed—and the day starts all over again.

But by exploring the different paths, you, the reader, can discover things that Mariner can’t. There are inconsistencies that don’t make sense—putting aside the fact that Mariner’s choice of drink each morning shouldn’t affect which alien races attack the ship, other facts of her world seem to change too. Something is definitely off. It’s up to you to discover!

Warp Your Own Way is available now at Amazon in paperback for $19.99 or Kindle/eBook for $7.22.

UPDATE: Art book

IDW has also just announced The Art of Star Trek: Lower Decks, coming out next summer. Here’s the blurb:

Climb aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos with its crew in this special look at the art of the critically acclaimed animated series. With special sections focusing on characters, ships, backgrounds, and scenery, you’ll know the lower decks better than the crew!

Also included will be interviews with members of the art team, who provide special insights into the making of the series and the art process.

The hardcover book arrives on July 8, 2025. You can pre-order a copy from Amazon for $29.99.

Buffer Time game

Modiphius Entertainment has expanded their Star Trek gaming offering with Star Trek: Lower Decks – Buffer Time: The Card Game. Here is how they describe the new new game for 2-6 “scrappy underdogs”:

“Explore strange new worlds,” they said… but it’s hard to appreciate the wonders of the Galaxy when you’re stuck lubing the turbolifts. But hey, it’s not like Captain Freeman knows how long any of these assignments really take…

In this push-your-luck card game, 2–6 players work together to complete their assignments while also making time for some well-earned rest and relaxation. Can you squeeze enough fun into your duty rotation before the bridge crew figures out what’s going on?

Buffer Time arrives shortly, in late October. You can pre-order now at modiphius.net for $21.98.

Cerritos Model Kit

Round 2 is releasing a USS Cerritos 1:1400 scale model kit of the USS Cerritos in January. You can pre-order it now at Entertainment Earth for $56.99.

The new season 5 poster paying homage to Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is being released as a limited edition fine art print by Vice Press. So much new merch for a canceled show… :-/

I mean there’s still new merch for TOS, which was canceled 55 years ago. One does not preclude the other.

I hope that someday they’ll release what would’ve been the Season Six poster. I would love to see their take on the Star Trek VI poster (I’m assuming they’d go for the final one and not the one with the giant Klingon head).

So will The Art of Lower Decks explain how they get down to Engineering?
