Another great episode! Loved the interview with Jerry. When he asked why would you not want to be on the bridge, that’s where all the action is. I think Shatner said the same thing to Takei when filming STVI. I don’t know if Jerry knew that, or it was just a coincidence. More of that would be great. I agree that converting his interview to a text article would be tough. Lots of nuance would be lost. I agree that this episode is funny, and it was a good concept to flip the script on TNG Lower Decks episode.

About the Saturn Awards. Is Prodigy not eligible? Season 2 of Prodigy is very good, and well received by critics and fans alike, I was genuinely surprised it wasn’t nominated for one.

Let us know what you think after we post Jerry’s interview. I tried to turn it into something! Ha.

I believe PRODIGY would be eligible based on release date. I don’t know if they consider it a kids show. They don’t have a kids/family thing like the Emmys.

I get that you were just humorously speculating, but it never even occurred to me that Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew could have been pitched the same show idea. Now I am wondering if that was what happened. It is kind of odd that they would be pitching two different live action shows to two Voyager actors around the same time.

I would love to see Seven and Janeway together in a show again, but only if it was done right. I’m glad both actors are thinking carefully about what is being pitched to them and hope they continue to do so.

Some interesting speculation there.

Given their past workplace relations, seeing them together in a show would be either interesting or “interesting”…

Right. Apologies and forgiveness don’t necessarily mean there is enthusiasm to work together again.

I get the sense this episode is a stew of story ideas that had been put aside for future seasons and future episodes. When they learned this would be the last, they threw everything in and turned on the blender. The Bajoran plot doesn’t make a lot of sense here, but it could’ve been developed into a killer episode on its own.

The Shaxxs (sp?) storyline was the most intriguing… I agree, Bill — I’d have watched a full half-hour (or hour!) with special voice appearances Nana Visitor, Andy Robinson and Marc Alaimo!

Greetings TrekMovie!

It’s been many years since I’ve visited – loved the podcast!

I wonder if the “it” idea that Mulgrew and Ryan seem to be referring to (if the “it” idea is one and the same) is a weak guest appearance as a holographic in Academy?

It’s great to be back! Cheers!

Thanks for the thoughts. From the context of the questions and discussions at the two conventions, both actresses were pretty clearly talking about pitches for shows with them as leads, not guest spots on other shows.

Thanks for the context. It’s nice to know that talk like that is at least happening. I’m hopeful for more streaming movies which would certainly open up more possibilities.

So…Laurie, you went back and watched V, but you still haven’t tried Doctor Who? Now I think you’re just messing with me.

I still live in hope that you’ll get to it some day. :)

Thanks for another great review and a fantastically entertaining interview!

Ha! Sorry. There is a big difference between a rewatch (that you can keep on in the background, especially when it’s something cheesy like ’80s V vs. something new you have to focus on! Wait until there’s no new Trek for a bit!

I don’t recall thinking it cheesy when it first aired. Funny how perception changes years later. Because it was indeed cheesy.

I think I knew the 80s were cheesy the whole time I was in them!
