Why anyone would pay $24, much less $30 or $34, for this turkey is beyond me.

…they could pay me $24 to take it, then I would throw it out.

Since our thoughts on liking this vs disliking it has already been discussed…..I will say instead that it’s nice that fans of it can have a physical copy of it with some BTS videos. The prices are also comparable to other movie releases. So spend your money how you want to spend it!

Nice to have a physical copy. Now I can burn it.

Lol!

Awesome. I enjoyed the movie so i will be buying the steelbook release Day 1.

As some people may remember after Paramount + dropped Produgy and really pissed me off I decided to invest in a physical media library and started buying DVDs/Blu Rays. And I now own 80% of the property buying all the movies and classic shows and currently have the modern shows Prodigy, Picard and Lower Decks (will be getting season 5 soon when it lands) all in my collection. Only missing SNW which I plan to wait until after the show is completely done and Discovery.

But now it’s another issue and should I buy something I know I will never watch again to complete a collection no one cares about other than me me or just skip it entirely?

At the moment the ridiculous price alone tells me to skip it but maybe I will give in when it hit sub $20. But yeah first thing I have no desire to buy and I now own TMP, which I know I will never watch again lol. But it would be weird not to at least have that one….and it came with the set lol.

I have bought a lot of the Kurtzman era Trek to be a completist despite my feelings.

However, Section 31 will be the exception. I know I can’t sit through it again and it was painful, even more so than DSC, so my desire to buy Section 31 is not there.

I agree. Curse Section 31! I will always love my top three current Star Trek projects: Strange New Worlds at #3, Lower Decks at #2 and Prodigy at #1. I will also always love what I call the pre-“Bad Hideout” era of Trek.

Just wait a bit. It will be a matter of months before ‘like new’ copies appear on eBay and Mercari for $2.

All it’s gonna take is a few people to get it for their birthday or just buy it on a whim, watch the first 40 minutes, and recognize how awful it is. They’ll dump it online for anything they can get.

So if you’re a completionist with the discs but don’t want to pay much for this one… you have nothing to worry about.

I hear you. I have the “completists’’” disease myself. I’d say wait for it to go on sale (which it absolutely will do) and get it for maybe $15? The current asking price is absurd.

That’s so funny! I also invested in a physical media library as a response to Prodigy’s mistreatment. In retrospect, it was absolutely the correct decision. Streaming sucks!

I’ll buy. This isn’t exactly Citizen Kane, but I found it more than entertaining enough. And I’m relieved and grateful that every Star Trek release, even a poorly received one, gets the physical media treatment. As a fan, I feel extremely spoiled. What other fandom gets this?

007. Sherlock Holmes. probably Tarzan.

After the reviews, I’ll skip this one. It’s the only ST film with a tomatometer < Star Trek 5.

This might be the first time that I don’t buy a Star Trek DVD . They can keep Section 31

Given the time frames for spinning up manufacturing and delivery to retail this makes me believe they thought this movie was going to be a lot more well received than it was… meaning they genuinely had no clue they made something so broadly not good.

Hopefully it means they learned something… What exactly that is I’m not sure, as the fan community has been pretty vocal in its dislike for how S31 was portrayed (and completely misunderstood) in DISCO, as well as the absurdity in trying to redeem a character such as Emperor Georgiou.

Can’t help but notice how tiny “Star Trek” is on the box art. Like those two words are ashamed to appear anywhere near this film. I get there are design choices at play that have nothing to do with that. But it’s (darkly) funny to me.

WHERE IS PICARD ON 4K????????

Yay…

Ain’t we suffered enough…………….

“Philippa Georgiou is one of the most complex characters in Trek history.”

👁️👄👁️ bruh

Look… it’s a thing that exists. I saw it. I was hoping the extras would be worth my money, but alas, I shall save my hard earned dollars for other Trek media that I am lacking in (such as Lower Decks).

Seriously, my review of this movie is “it exists”. Although that’s more than I can say for the abomination vomited out between First Contact and Nemesis…

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only live action nuTrek I would ever consider to purchase as a physical release would be Picard S3 in 4K.

That’s it.

No, no… but thank you anyway.

As a completionist maybe I’ll get this after a while when it’s reduced in price. I appreciate that Paramount still supports physical media at all.
