This Sunday (April 19th) Playmates Toys will unleash their first wave of Star Trek movie related toys and figures. Each day this week TrekMovie will feature detailed overview and review of a different component of the Playmates line. Today we take a close look at the Galaxy Series of of 3.75" action figures.
Over the weekend Paramount started airing a new 30-second TV commercial, which is the 6th TV spot for the new Star Trek movie. Paramount have not yet made it available, but video is now online. Check it out below with TrekMovie.com’s usual screen caps and analysis.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture. 30 years later, it is Burger King that brings Trek back to restaurants with the promotions for the new Star Trek film. On Tuesday evening (Tuesday morning for the rest of us), the Star Trek world tour hit New Zealand, home of the new Dr. McCoy, Karl Urban. Leonard Nimoy is headed to another JJ Abrams production, this time on the small screen. EW is reporting that Nimoy will appear as what could be a recurring character on Fringe, the genre show created and produced by the same team who are bringing us the new Star Trek movie. Today is the official release date of the of the trade paperback for the comic series, "Star Trek Countdown," the prequel for the new Star Trek movie. Many fans held off from reading the individual issues (reviewed here at TrekMovie), awaiting the TPB. So this week the Library Computer takes a bit of a side-trip to review the graphic novel and find out if it was worth the wait.

Tonight Paramount pulled off one of the coolest stunts in fan history. Promoted as just a 10 minute preview of the new Star Trek to show along with The Wrath of Khan, tonight fans in Austin, TX were actually shown the entire new Star Trek movie.
